      @@oliverwraith the holes where the shoelaces go through. "Have you tried Boots?" Yes, but it comes through the lace holes." It's quite funny actually and I just got it myself again when your question popped up as an alert!

    The lady on the right looks like my nana,only she was Italian and a bit darker colour,thanks for the memory mate,wish them a many many year of happiness and many more New Year.

    Sounds like a lot of Devonians when I was younger, including myself and my family. Not so strong an accent with most these days.

      It's a very English/British joke because the shop assistant asks "Have you tried Boots?" meaning have you gone to Boots (the chemist), but she thinks she means a pair of boots. Silly old gag but funny!
