  • How to pronounce French nasal sounds - If you struggle with sounds like en, em, an, am, etc., in French, or if you don’t know the difference between un and une, then you are likely having problems with what are called French nasal sounds (and you are definitely not the only one!). French nasal sounds are EVERYWHERE, from the shortest of words (on, an) to the longest (impossible, tangible), so it’s imperative that you learn the letter combinations that create these sounds, as well as how to pronounce them.
    The French pronunciation for en em an am and more will depend on the letters that follow them, but of course there are always exceptions. Luckily, you can learn the rules behind French nasal sounds in order to correctly identify AND pronounce them!
    Accordingly, this video is meant to demystify French nasal sounds for beginners. First, we go over how French nasal sounds are constructed, all the different spelling variations, and any exceptions to these rules. Then, I show you how to pronounce the three different French nasal sounds, with several examples and interactive activities included.
    By the end of this video, you will have learned how to make nasal sounds, including how to pronounce un and une, how to pronounce en in French, how to pronounce em in French, and so on and so forth.
