This one... is huge.
It’s got all the things you were probably expecting - balance changes, new items, hero reworks, UI improvements. But we also included a few changes you probably weren't expecting, like a new hero attribute type and - brace yourself - the map is now 40% bigger.

Expanding the map and throwing random copycat shits into it is not an update or a patch. Hero, item, stun duration changes are spot on i think. But the map is fucked up. Dota is the map, logo is the map. If you change the map this much its a different game

@@mr.n476 actually, that's per hour basis, which goes from 400k-700k. There are millions who play DOTA 2 daily, and tens of millions monthly, so definitely not dead.
DOTA 2's playerbase has settled to 400k-700k (with rise up to 1M) concurrent players since 2020, and hasn't decayed much since. Definitely not dead. Should have dropped in hundreds of thousands after 2020, but never really happened.
Edit: Valorant has the same playerbase numbers as DOTA 2 if you look it up, though those numbers are estimates based on server activity. DOTA 2's definitely not dead.
For the Dota players who been playing at least 10 years, this patch is a good one. The excitement in a new big patch is always gonna bring back old players. And those that only been only playing a couple of years will either be neutral or hate it because new and old players of Dota 2 have their own reason in playing.
Real Dota players that love the game ADAPTS/ADJUST in each patch big or small.
I know one that left the game after the battle pass and not going back for this shit patch.

That also means the game will be dead in a couple of years. With these changes, dota 2 complexity just went too far that new players learning these additional mechanics, map changes and items isn't just worth all the time and effort

i half agree. but years of nothing and suddenly this huge change isnt ideal either. They changed items, neutrals, heros, map and even playsytle ( killing heros is the best way to farm it seems now xD )
this was needed but map feels incomplete and bit big so modes like turbo is a mess. If this was done in 2 updates, where the second update makes map feel whole then yeah - this is defo a must have

*Next map update * Dota 2 open world* map larger 200% increase, we can hungry, we can dehidration, we can create food, we must drink water, we must eat food, we can hiding in water, we can mining, and we can climbing, chest in random plance on map and we can get random item in chest
Next Update:The rapier that was dropped by that special strong monster had greater damage than an ordinary rapier and gave a kind of critical effect when attacking
Gems can detect missing players with a wider range
The Scan Map feature is updated where when activated the entire map will be scanned and displays the positions of all enemy players even though they are in their own area
At night the map is so dark that it makes every player blind and needs to buy special gems items that have night vision and thermal detection effects. Ward items cannot be used at night
There is a random Ghost Type Neutral Creep attack at night where the neutral creep's damage is quite strong and the player needs to take cover at a fountain, base, near tower but tower just attack single target can't attack 2 ghost neutral creep, and special protection point that appears randomly on the map at night or the player tries to kill the Ghost Neutral Creep to get a protection blessing effect for 20 seconds
side quest(kill neutral, cut tree, collect something on map, and other), can climbing, There is rainy weather with lightning that can damage players, ice rain hail that can freeze the player every time and give damage, heat, and snow, *there is an indicator of body cold/hyportermia effect where the body can get cold when the weather is snowing or in cold weather*
there is a flood of monsters in the form of neutral creep attacks that suddenly appear from somewhere outside the map or the number of neutral creeps on the map suddenly increases and can move freely on the map
There is a boss monster that appears when the game is over 2 hours where this boss will attack any player and attack the tower
Heroes like CM on this map lol, they nees to adjust MS for sure

And yep les bags, and bad changes, I played 3 times and in 2 of them Rosh got stuck in portal, I don't think that that is good, fun but not in such game. Really curious how things turn out and how pros will play this new map. It's a lot to take in. Hopefully, by having an even bigger jungle, it won't lead to even longer and more boring stalling matches. We'll see, for now it should be exciting to discover the possibilities. Aside from the fundamentals, we have to unlearn a lot of stuff. Let's go!

Please stop whining about other people whining. They have every right to complain if they please. These were not slight changes. The mechanics of the game and the map size are completely different now, so veteran players have essentially been given a completely different game to play. Saying simply adjust or shut up is in itself a very toxic attitude. More so toxic than having an opinion.

It actually happened to use this match lmao. Like 5 mins ago xD opponent spectre disappeared whole game, just came with ult killed pushed again disappeared. Warding has been a nightmare, towers provide 0 territory value. High ground low ground positioning has no objective reasoning (like they did it in the past).worst of all, Rosh fights aren't exciting at all
Everyone says the patch is shit and the game is bad and just go play League and then they play it for a little and are perfectly fine. Just enjoy it being different rather than it being stagnant

patch 8.00: Dota 2 is now open world with bosses and new construction abilities. Each hero now has the ability to construct buildings (barracks, towers). Roshan's offsprings, Blazhan and Froshan will spawn after 60 min mark and patrol the Roshan pits. Killing them will drop new runes: Incinerate (attacks deal 3% burn damage based on enemy HP, lasts for 75 secs) and Deep Chill (attacks slows enemies and reduced HP regen by 3%, lasts for 75 seconds) respectively.
Couriers now have Last Will and can attack buildings. Killing couriers will grant 20 gpm and 5 ms buff for 75 seconds.
CM has been removed from game.

Just played a game with puck and I can say this map changes a lot, I really like the new opportunities to make plays, new angles for teamfights and warding and shit, just what I needed !!

Change is good, hero and item changes, stun duration decreases are really good imo. New heroes new neutral camps always appreciated. But the map, map is what dota is. Even the logo is the map. If you change the map this much, it is a different game now.

Excited about new changes, cant wait to try and see how meta strategies changes in pro scene. Only thing I don't like is Roshan position which I think should be somewhat closer to middle. I don't mind roshan changing sides, I think that was cool. Just I don't like that its in extreme corner makes it kinda hard to reach, which might decrease contest for roshan.
Although its only my assumptions, maybe I am wrong, lets see.

Oh my days, the map just got a whole lot more complex! This totally feels like one of those maps you can find on Arcade mode. This'll take time to get used to.
the first problem that I see with this map is an unfair amount of jungle camps on both safe lane. I think instead of 5 extra in safelane and only 1 extra in the offlane they need to balance it with 4:2 and put the ancient camp on each edge part on the safelane instead.

Played Dota1 and 2 for about 4k hours each… was playing in Ancient 5 when they started the medals ranks.. they put lot of changes that was just too much for when you played dota 2 for the classic WC3 comeback with good graphics and new heroes look.. was real fun .. and then i started to just feel sick of how the game changed so much with items and new map things.. started playing LoL back in 2013 reach a high rank too and loved the game for his gameplay it’s really different from dota and sticked with it… barely playing any of these games really but… like dota 2 player base is gone ,player that were here when dota 2 was in beta are just far gone :(
New generations will look upon those changes as a good thing but when you played dota 2 back in the dayz you will never find the joy you’ll get now. Game is completly different .Good luck Dota2 and hope Ill never see your server shutdown. U’ve been good!

The 40% terrain is horrible, sooo many creep camps holy shit and everything about this terrain is like a nightmare for supports .
As I understand, that's why they placed 2 new portals on the map.
@ those 2 portals doesn't still solve the issue of the map being so huge. Only thing it solves is that you won't need to buy tps to travel between safelanes (if you are in those areas)
It will be like with neutral items, it was a mess at a beginning and they balanced it out later. People got used to it later.

For Ogre, they basically increased the chance for multicast, made it more prone to being beefy (Str-wise) but abolished spell amp entirely (since 0 int), naturally.

Yeah, without any items. But with her typical itens she will have around 1k HP at the end. But the new mana shield gives her around 5-6k effective HP

@Mzw 2345 its a good question but despite not testing I would assume that it doesn't. It's a passive that doesn't work passively, it gives her a buff that works as a mana shield. If the break immediately remove the buff then she would melt,
