    This has been super helpful, I got my tickets 6 months ago and had forgotten half of the whistle signals. I’ve just started a rigging job in the mines and this has been a great refresher right before starting! Cheers 👍

    This is wild lol we use whistles to let everyone know we’re flying material. More to let everyone know crane is being used, never to actually give signals to an operator.

      I will never allow the use of whistles on a construction site, if you are not afforded the use of a radio or headset you shouldnt be in the business of cranes... its an old nostalgic practice

      @@pooheadispoppingout idk about all that lol whistles are still needed, just not for signaling

    Also use a closed fist for stop because if your upside down doing a lift as a doggy open palm can means down Slow. Faster you wave your hand the faster you want the winch cable to go

    • @scarsurf
      @scarsurf Před 2 lety +2

      Hell NO you use a closed fist, well not in Australia anyway. It's hard enough to see from 30 meters away, make it as big and clear as you can see. Boom up or down to stop with a closed fist isn't as obvious or clear as an open palm.

  • @Wayne-Kerr_Rudy-Zarzoff

    Have you ever seen this hand signal 👉✋️?

  • @hemayann
    @hemayann Před 2 lety +1

    Whistles are so fucking dangerous. I refuse to use them! Radio is good if it’s only you and the doggy on the chanel

    • @scarsurf
      @scarsurf Před 2 lety +2

      Only dangerous for those that don't know them.

      What if your new n the whistle and you cough or fuck up or the operator can’t hear because he is 80 years old

    • @wyatthurts1729
      @wyatthurts1729 Před 2 lety

      You must have a whistle at all times radio can fuck out and your last instruction is down 😲
