I also think he is at his best when he is underestimated, when he is the 'underdog'. Thats when he goes crazy and spits like no other. I hope he never retires, because even his worst songs are still good even just for dissecting bars and whatnot.

5 years later they go back and re-rate it, Eminem said this. Eminem is simply ahead of his time and even during his time away from the current public's opinion, he's still dropping songs that will become a classic in hip hop forever. Encore is one of Eminem's worst albums and it has classics like mockingbird, and when i'm gone, like toy soldiers. Relapse has songs like beautiful, as well as delves into a genre most mainstream artists wouldn't dare to trespass to, lyrical and dark content like same song and dance, stay wide awake, and lyrical onslaughts like Underground. Even the recent Revival has undeniably masterfully written SONGS most noticeably the last two of the album. Even the Ed Sheeran pop song brought to light a topic you don't hear about often, Abortion and the stresses that arrive from it, beautifully sung and theatrical atmosphere. Most people aren't aware that history is being written right now in front of us, Eminem is and forever will be part of that history. Regardless of your preferences in music, objectively this man has done more than most artists and has inspired countless of people in the world, and will continue to inspire people who are willing to learn about him.

I think the line 'I'm not as big as I use to be' that Eminem had in this was saying he hit untouchable legend status, but as he went under the radar for a bit he dropped back down to just legend status, but I know from a lot of Eminem's tracks you need to be smart and think as he could have at least 2 different meanings if not more, as a rapper he is scary because he seems to have several narratives through out the tracks and somehow using voodoo or something connects them while making what is heard basic version make sense, I don't even listen to a lot of rap music but even I know Eminem is a lyrical genius.
