    I've had the small parrot drones before. That's actually what got me into the hobby because the little one was so much fun! That being said, however... I hate taking photos of myself so a drone built specifically for that is not for me =P This one does actually look really cool though.. maybe my fiance would like one =P

    In case you ever revisit the review of this little drone you should try the third party apps now available and a wifi extender. That makes a completely new drone: Tons of features, gamepad support, way less frame drops, huge range improvement, GPS like autopilots including RTH just based on the downfacing camera. I was so amazed I did my first video (in awful quality) just to showcase this function: automatic RTH from 140m distance in very strong winds. You can find it on my "channel" (well I don't have a real channel, only this shaky video)

    I love the Tello I just got it the other day I was shocked with the power it puts out and the camera footage is pretty impressive it’s a great done for under $100 for someone wanting something to mess around with or getting into flying drones

    Great video. Been looking for a practical drone for fishing trips on the canoe, no too expensive in case it goes for a swim and small and light to pack away easily, and possibly recharge from a battery pack. This looks like the one I've been waiting for. Thanks for the review Ash

      Just a follow up for viewers. Got the tello, had g8 fun with it. Spend alot of time around water. Hit a branch, fell into my local river. After about 5mins to 10mins in muddy water, managed to find it, fish it out. Removed battery. 3 days drying in the sun and it fired it up, no problem. No issues.

      Also keep in mind that it will land automatically if WiFi connection is lost for over 15 seconds or so. Safety feature that may kill it when flying over water or other hard to reach places.

    Great review! I have been in email contact with RYZE customer support on another topic - when are they coming out with a adjustable camera (manual rotate up & down )? The $49 knock off brands have this type of camera lens. For me, I like that feature. RYZE C.S. was very quick in response and took interest in my question. Their price point, features and easy replacement parts need to be refined as the Drone/Quad market is on a ever changing & updating world.

    When I connected the drone Wi-Fi to my phone, it showed that it was connected on my phone. However, the drone was still blinking yellow and did not take off once I slided the take of button on my phone. It was fully charged overnight and my phone was also realllly close to it. What could I try to make it connect?
    Edit: I found out the app had a bug I reinstalled it it was working!

    Two subjects that need to be covered for beginners. 1) how to setup Wifi. Not just mention it. 2) how to use the Tello App controller. I see your simulated joy sticks with left right and up and down arrows. Do we move the center buttons toward the arrows?

  • @BionicRusty
    @BionicRusty Před 5 lety +1

    Great video. Thank you.
    I have one of these. It’s brilliant. I’ve also got a madcatz controller (works great) and a Keplar VR headset.
    I’ve also added another battery and a three port charger which is a must really because you have to charge in the Tello otherwise.
    I now so want a Spark ♥️

      Haha it's a great drone but they're very different, the E58 is for fun and full manual control via transmitter whereas Tello is more of an autonomous drone, controlled primarily by smartphone.

    Good couple of reviews on this neat, little drone Ash. I think I'll wait for the second iteration though and hopefully it will be compatible with existing RC controllers, as I detest smartphone control, and a micro SD card to make better use of the camera's optics.

    • @Droning-ON
      @Droning-ON  Před 6 lety +2

      Yeah good plan, this is very much a beginner's drone, so some that already flies it'll be a bit too basic perhaps, but it's still fun and great for kids to learn!

    • @Knapweed
      @Knapweed Před 6 lety +2

    • @Droning-ON
      @Droning-ON  Před 6 lety +2

      Basically a scam by a DJInadfilite called HandyDrones, they've been doing it for almost a year now, setting up a Google Sites URL which redirects to their DJI affiliate link. Sneaky bastards, I'll get their account suspended.

    Fantastic video! Its really wonderful, just two questions, I'm totally new to this flying bizz... So what happens if it's flying away and goes out of range and if I didn't notice the warning sign, does it still go away forever lost? Also what about wind resistance? If it's a windy day will the wind take it away? And also I'm assuming the videos photos save to the phone right ? Thanks so much ! Love your videos!

    • @Droning-ON
      @Droning-ON  Před 6 lety +2

      Thanks for your comment Alisha! The Tello once out of range will detect that it has lost WiFi and will slowly descend to the ground. It was quite windy on the day that I tested it and yet as you can see it remains in positiion so no big worry. Yes the video save direct to the phone.

    You can buy a wifi repeater for 8€ , connect it to a power bank and it improves the range so so much. You go to 30m high and the wifi signal is full. Also it goes to 200m far. Just invest the 8€ and have sooooo much more fun with it. 👍👍👍👍👍😊
