      @@MinhNguyen-ry5mp I really like it, i would run it on mine again. However you have to pay attention to slip. With drag mode off the trans will warn you when you have a bad slip. With drag mode on, its your responsibility. My thinking, if the trans slips its cooked anyway. Dylan has been running it on his MHD stage 2+ car since this video with no issues. We killed the trans in the flow max car in a matter of a week. However the flow max car was likely around 700whp and a huge amount of mid range torque.

      @@IN54ANE heck no! They state very clearly that it can cause 4x the wear rate on the transmission. I took the chance. I plan on going to a bigger turbo, so I didn't expect the hp45 to have a long life. I'm already well above it rated torque, drag mode just sped things up. It's still very drive able. My tuner told me about a trans fluid that has helped a lot. Don't get drivetrain malfunction any more, but you can feel it pulling power. Im pretty sure that the 8hp only has 3 sensors, an input, output and temperature sensor. And it does a good job of protecting itself if it sees any slip. I'll keep beating on it till I find a local builder. I might go Pure Drivetrain but they don't have any cores right now. I don't want to be down too long now that summer is here.

    I was going to wait until i did the trans solenoids and seals like you did in the first video of the new build. I'm still going to do the solenoids and seals But black Friday and this video convinced me to get it now. I haven't tried it yet but I'm excited to. Thanks for the push. I am a little concerned with my trans though as I'm running a very high mileage car. (dirt cheap for $1500). My last 335i had much lower mileage but it shifted exactly the same as this one does. I sold it at 98,000KM. My present one is at 305,000KM LOL. But it's running like a dream! (Lots of Maintenance mind you). But the 6hp is ..... It's sloppy. Especially in Manual mode. It's like "Click .....shift....click ....shift". Hopefully xHP will deal with some of this as well the auto shifts I'm sure will be better. But I guess I'll see how it goes tomorrow. Thanks again for the great content guys! Just FYI, I'm now running X Delete (which gives me full rear wheel drive instead of the Xdrive). Pro Tool for coding and many other things. Which works great but not cheap. MHD stage 2+ on 95 Mon (We get 94 mon with 10% Ethanol at the pump then I'm using a Octane booster to get the points up) and now XHP Flash as of Tomorrow.

    The issue for this is 335is in this generation use a throttle plate torque reduction to help the Trans shift easier and faster. Rather than just slamming it into the next gear. What happens is the throttle plate closes its not smart on a turbo car or any car newer cars use a spark cut torque reduction like modern automatics and dct cars. This drag tune implements that and eliminates the throttle plate reduction making for faster crisper shifts and better power handling without loss of power

    Funny enough I ended up buying XHP last night on sale and flashed it. 🤣 I'm not quite blown away with the stage 3 Flash, at least not as much as I thought I would be. But I think maybe it's still adapting?

    So I am about to service the zf6hp in my n53 330i before I do the xHP stage 3 tune. I have the oil pan, seals, oil etc. But is there a way to tell if you need to do the solenoids as well or is it always worth doing? Cars on 102,000 miles.

    • @ZeroTo60Tube
      @ZeroTo60Tube  Před 2 lety +1

      I feel from experience it’s worth doing. However Another way to look at it, when you drop the mechatronics you will leave a fair bit of old oil in the trans. Doing the job again if the shifts aren’t perfect won’t be a bad thing.
      If you hate working on the car, do the solenoids the first time. If not do the job as planned and see how it feels if it’s still not rapid shifting do the solenoids then.

    I did this on my car before i blew the engine, I picked the car up today with the new N54 and still had my old Tune with shift bog delete and drag mode, Low and behold after about an hour or 2 of cruising and 3-4 pulls i got "transmission fault" and it stayed stuck in 2nd until i turned the car off and on, i think either A too much line pressure has worn my clutch packs to dangerously low or B my transmission which is a 6AT is busted. God its just one thing after another :(
    I know using the Xhp stage 3 with drag mode does say it will wear the packs down quicker but i dunno, i just might be someone who got unlucky, Original trans and packs have done 260,000 kms!

    • @ZeroTo60Tube
      @ZeroTo60Tube  Před 2 lety +1

      Increased line pressure will reduce wear on the clutches as they won’t slip as much.
      Have you done the seals and solenoids on the trans?

    • @anthonye3680
      @anthonye3680 Před 2 lety

      I don't think line pressure wears out clutch faster since it applies max pressure between shifts to give less slip.. less slip less heat less wear.

What sucks is that my mechanic did my transmission service with a new pan and seal but i told him i want new solenoids and mechatronic seals and tubes and he said "its not worth it" Guess how happy i am now i have to pay for another Pan, 7-9 litres of lifeguard ZF and bolts i didnt have to. I should have stuck to my guns but he insisted it would only make it "5-10% better" when i first built the car with new turbos etc.
