Nothing tops the one from that one game he played with Lydia. I think it's called Devotion. That f'ing jumpscare gets me even when I'm paused a second beforehand and I know that it's coming.
They probably just thought that it was like the cabinet, a way of showing that it wasn't openable until a certain point. I won't lie, I didn't realize that it was the same mass as the spooky dude until after I read your comment.
