I believe criminals have control issues (difficulty accepting/respecting authority, codependency, a focus on self-serving actions/situations, narcissism, etc.), which is demonstrated by how emotional they get about having their freedom taken away. Also, problems with impulsive, thrill-seeking behavior can explain why they would even commit their crimes in the first place, even if they're not psychopathic. Psychology is sooo fascinating and gives us the answers to why people do what they do!

I seriously wish there was a better way than prison or life sentences for people who don't have a criminal record or did something they genuinely didn't intend to do,like maybe working for the government and doing whatever they are told, making compensation in any way they can for all the non murder cases, being made to contribute to society in whatever way is possible, mayb being taught to save lives instead of endangering them(there are many jobs that do that, just that not many people willingly take them),mayb getting them a honest job that suits them after rehabilitation etc.
I'm not saying that all criminals need to go scott-free for their crimes, but surely there must be a way to redeem people who are not that far lost, and make them pay for their crimes in a way that's productive and benefits everyone.I mean, here's an example, what will be better, sending someone to prison for a life sentence for something they did,or make them learn something that saves lives and them using that knowledge later on and actually saving someone, like say, make them work as life guards, or firefighters, and they end up saving someone who could have drowned,or died of asphyxiation in a burning building?
I know what I'm saying might be easy to say and may be impractical, but we can at least start taking small steps.
Not only will this help save many lives that could be ruined, but could also change many people and make them contribute to society. Also this would help keep less criminals in prison, and hence reduce wastage of taxes.
Sry for making this so long, but wouldn't it be better if people get punished in a positive way, rather than a negative one?
That's all,and thanks for making it till here,u guys are legends!!🤩🤩🤩
(Also, plz no negative replies,it's just my view and those who don't agree can politely respond,no need for any fights or bitterness,😅👍🏻)

@Austin Martín Hernández I support the constitution also. My parents who raised me with morals and values are now dead b/c 4 young adults took their precious life for $10 and their old beat up car. I've been through 2 murder trials and still have 2 more to go and trust me when I say these criminals have more rights than the victims do. it's so ridiculous. I understand there are people that get wrongfully convicted on the other hand more innocent people and helpless kids die everyday. Just keep tabs on the gun violence memorial page. Most kids start out as petty crime but over the years become the devils demons. I love my country and blessed to have been born here, so please toll someone else
