They also do some really great funny videos, while being magnificent.
All about that bass, butts remix, country fried pop Medley, champagne taste on a beer budget.
Mind blowing harmony & exquisite talent,
How great thou art, blue ain't your color, do you hear what I hear, o holy night.
When they do covers, it's really best to be familiar with the original, just to see how they are KNOWN for putting the famous "Home Free Spin" on everything they do.

This song is very very old. It is known to have been 1st written down in 1913, but is believed to be perhaps 30 years older. I was 1st known to be recorded in 1928. WELCOME to the world of Home Free !! I'm prejudiced, but to me the best acapella band of all-time

"I don't like a capella". My thoughts--"Just wait until you hear good a capella". Home Free is fabulous and I can recommend anything of theirs. There are several other really great a capella artists you might want to check out. Voice Play is great, Pentatonix is wonderful, Voctave is beyond compare (11 members and the chords and harmonies are out of this world), and Peter Hollens is wonderful as well (does solo work and duets with others; but don't let that stop you; Peter is the master of overdubbing and he does a lot of harmonizing with himself). You should really check out Peter Hollens with Tim Foust (the bass singer you heard here) doing a cover of "Misty Mountains" from "the Hobbit". It's incredible. It's just the two of them but it sounds like a full choir because of the overlaying of Tim's and Peter's voice.

I am very eclectic with music. I can usually find something exceptional in any genre to enjoy, but I have to say that the new a cappella is not you grandparents Barber Shop variety. There are 3 groups who have refined this genre past the old school. 1) Home Free ~ cross any genre but with a different take on Country, R&B, Pop, Gospel, Rock, and yes even Christmas music. 2) Pentatonix ~ Pop, Evo, Christmas Music unique versions of popular music. 3) Voice Play ~ Disney music (complete with costume and theatrical presentation), Pop, Unique Genres like Viking Sea Shanty adaptations, and Themes from movies. All 3 of these groups have unique styles and takes on main stream music. The harmonies are all on point and as a whole surprising. You never know what surprises are in store, even if they all at some time may cover the same song, it's like 3 amazing presentations that are completely satisfying listening that stand successfully on their own. Ivory, prepare to discover a whole new a cappella that will definitely surprise and hopefully delight you. For Christmas, I would suggest Home Free's "Do You Hear What I Hear", Pentatonix"s "Mary Did You Know" and Voice Play's "Mission: Jingle Bells"

THIS GROUP IS PHENOMENOL!!! EVERY SOUND THAT YOU HEAR COMES FROM THE MOUTH! TIM FAUST, THE BASS, HAS A 5 OCTAVE RANGE. ADAM RUP, THE BEAT BOXER, IS A 2 TIME WORLD CHAMPION!!! THOUGH COUNTRY IS THEIR MAIN TYPE OF MUSIC, THEY COVER ALL GENRES OF MUSIC. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ADAM CHANCE, THEY HAVE ALL BEEN TOGETHER FOR 15 TO 20 YEARS. ADAM CHANCE TOOK CHRISS RUPPS PLACE WHEN HE LEFT ABOUT 4 YEARS AGO. THEY ARE MEMBERS OF THE GRAND OLE OPRY. AND WERE THE WINNER OF THE T.V. SHOW,"THE SING OFF" AROUND 2001! THEY HAVE AN EXTENSIVE CATALOGUE OF OVER 160 SONGS. SOME OF THEIR DONGS ARE COVERS, AND SOME ARE ORIGINALS. TIM AND AUSTIN, THE HIGH TENOR, HAVE WRITTEN SEVERAL GREAT SONGS! THIS IS A DEEP RABBIT HOLE THAT YOU NEED TO DELVE INTO YOURSELVES, BUT BELIEVE ME, IT WILL TAKE AWHILE. THEY DO NOT HAVE A LEADER, OR MAIN LEAD SINGER. THEY ALL SING LEAD ACCORDING TO WHAT THE SONG CALLS FOR. "BYE. BYE, AMERICAN PIE" WITH DON MCLEAN , THE ORIGINAL SINGER OF THE SONG IS A GOOD SONG FOR YOU TO PLAY NEXT. THEY HAVE SANG WITH KENNY ROGERS, JEWEL, THE OAK RIDGE BOYS, DON MCLEAN, AND SO MANY OTHERS. YOU JUST HAVE TO EXPLORE THEIR MATERIAL.I ABSOLUTE LOVE THEM. EACH ONE BRINGS A VERY SPECIAL QUALITY TO THE GROUP AND THEY ALWAYS SEEM TO HAVE SO MUCH FUN TOGETHER! THEY DO CONCERTS AND HAVE TOURED ALL AROUND THE WORLD. THE FOLLOWERS ARE CALLED "HOMEFRIES". AND, WE ARE EXTREMELY LOYAL TO THEM. I BELIEVE YHAT IS ENOUGH TO GET YOU A STARTED. START GOING DOWN THAT RSBBIT HOLE!!! GOOD LUCK!

'Man of Constant Sorrow' is a blue grass song written by Dick Burnett of Kentucky & first published around 1913. It's been covered many times, but most people now know it from the movie 'O Brother, where art thou'. Home Free's cover is my personal favorite - by a wide margin.

"Man of Constant Sorrow" is a classis C/W song that dates back to the 1920s. Home Free is an a cappela group that specializes in C/W songs, but have proven themselves adept at a multitude of genres. Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, has won international competitions in his craft. All members have degrees in music, and all take turns singing lead. Tim Foust, the bass, has a 5-octave range, having been originally trained as a tenor - he's obviously maintained his upper registers. I encourage you to listen to their other videos, and would like seeing your reactions to them. The group is worth following.

The Vocal Percussionist is Adam Rupp, cofounder of the group. There are videos of him doing a "DRum Solo" that he does during the concerts. The most reacted to is about 6 years old and he is wearing red flannel...he has only gotten better. Their latest, Working for a living, he has a major Harmonica solo. Also, the live version of 9 to 5, there is a beatboxing breakdown where they all beat box. The sound you are talking about is a jaw harp...and Adam Chance (pictured at the end) is the one making it. The reason I like Adam and his percussion is because he is true to regular drums...and doesn't overdo it with gimicky stuff...

Yep that odd sound was meant to sound like a jaw harp - a tiny brass harp with a copper/brass twanging spring that you put up to your mouth and hum through while plucking the twanger. Chance (Adam Chance), the baritone in the dark vest did that sound using harmonic overtone singing (aka Tibetan throat singing).

Ivory, I know you loved the beatboxing, but if you want to hear their amazing harmonies listen to their version of Helplessly Holing where all five of them sing. The song was an Americana folk song written more than 100 years ago!

Recovered this song. It's from brother Where art thou the movie. If you want to hear some more modern music, or classic rock acapella, you absolutely have to listen to Pentatonix. There's one free Grammys now.

I'm one of those people that's pretty meh about country and meh about a cappella, but I love Home Free. They're just amazingly talented, creative, and hardworking. As well as being all that, they're just really good people with big hearts. A long-time Home Fry passed away a couple days ago in a car accident and these guys have been absolutely gutted at the loss. I've been tearing up just reading their remembrances of her.

Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole! They are great! And it’s all real, no instruments at all. This song is an old bluegrass song that was in the movie, “O Brother Where Art Thou”. All of us fans are called Home Fries. Check out “Helplessly Hoping” for great harmony and try, “Hillbilly Bone” or “Butts Remix” for some fun🐝🤗❤️I’m subscribing to watch you go down the rabbit hole🤗

I believe Home Free is one of the best if not the best Acapella bands. What you heard at the beginning and at the end is some people call them jaw harps I call them juice harps. My dad used to play it.

'Man of Constant Sorrow' was featured in the moving "Oh Brother, Where Art Though". It is also classic southern folk song. If you like Home Free, then try out Pentatonix and Voiceplay. Beatboxer is probably the most amazing. The twangy sound throughout was the guy in back right making a noise like a jews harp (mouth harp).

There are a couple of other A Capella groups that are pushing the envelope of what 'A Capella' means. Also check out Pentatonix (Hallelujah, or Sound of Silence) , and Voice Play (Oogie Boogie). Watching all three groups, your subscriber count will go to the moon. All three groups are fantastic. Home Free and Pentatonix are very good friends.

If you want to see another incredible talent search for Geoff Castellucci Far over the misty mountain cold!! This song will give you chills and hit you right in the heart. His voice is so deep and he also sings all parts. At first I thought this was four different guys singing but then realized it’s the same guy just in different costumes. He is absolutely incredible and when I first heard the song I can actually say it affected me in a way that not many songs can do. I’m not a big fan of these types of singing either but home free is incredible and now I found Geoff Castellucci who sings with voice play but just this one song from him solo is incredible!!!
