- In this video i mix a song from start to finish within 3 hours. I use eq, compression and a ton of advanced mixing tricks right in the moment without skipping over what im doing.
I show you interesting techniques on how to obtain width without stereo widening plugins. How to get a more prominent kick and even some super secret mix bus techniques coupled with gain staging methods on how to keep things in check.

When using the 8 NLS bus trick you learned from Jaycen Joshua, remember you can adjust your first NLS with the Mike setting to 0 on the drive instead of 0.5. That will help smooth out the drums. You also can disable the two NLS busses with the Spike setting to really stop it from overpowering your drums. I messed around with the structure a little bit and noticed if you just turn off the second NLS in the chain (Spike setting) it also gives the drums a nice texture. Great video by the way!

Yeah Courtney, LOL! He sent me down the rabbit hole to figure out the Jesse Ray trick in Logic Pro! I figured it out...even though we don't have Lo-Fi!
So on that hi hat trick … what I do to give the perception of with with logic is put a stereo plugin on the channel, flip the phase then delay either the left or right channel. Or you can use the Kilobearts plugin Haas because basically that’s what you’re doing … the haas effect

My ONLY gripe with this video is the volume level. This was mixed really low, comparing this to the My Audio Nerds volume I had to turn my car volume pass half way to get a comfortable listening experience…. But with My Audio I don’t have to do that. That’s my only note…. Im halfway in the video and volume aside I’m enjoying it. Great job so far bro!!!
It’ll get louder I don’t like to mix loud at all it saves my ears from fatiguing. This is truly a mix experience not a content first type of thing! This vid is a real world scenario for me !

I like to mix on low volume because if I can hear everything clearly at a low volume then I know Im in a good space…. My only question at this point is this…. Would it be possible to do something like this again where the output volume to the stream is a little louder and the volume in the room is where you need it to be? Can the two be separated somehow..? I am asking because at some point I would like to do something like this but for live sound though (big shout out to you and LJ and Courtney, y’all are the reason why I am pushing to figure things out to make my own yt page for live sound, I appreciate you all!)
