Hi James, first of all late happy birthday and I’m definitely a Lonewolf so I’ve spent my birthday alone. My suggestion is you can watch CZcams videos or other videos online to be better at meeting. People are talking to women, if you feel that’s necessary. I’m 35 years old and there are some things that I’m behind on socially, and I’m working up the courage to watch those videos: it’s hard for me because I was misdiagnosed with autism, I’m not autistic, and it’s hard for me to work on my weaknesses because of live emotional abuse, and I’ve learned to really shut down from connecting with people because of a lot of bad experiences, but I’m trying to break that. It’s that thing in psychology of trust versus mistrust. - - However, everybody has something to work on and my hope for you is that you don’t want hold off if you have any social anxiety issues. You got a face your fears
And I really enjoyed your video, and when I go to Baltimore, and then, in the fall, Puerto Rico and the virgin islands, they are things that learn. What I like is that in your video there is good saturation, color levels, contrast, and all that makes a good resolution look. The reason why I say this is because I’m learning Davinci resolve tomorrow and I have a few food videos from San Francisco that I want to edit and I like how you do your work; sometimes I would play with colors and create something out of Andy Warhol photograph, and the big thing I’ve learned is that you don’t want your footage looking like that if you’re doing a food review because it doesn’t look realistic.
I like watching your videos and learning how to be a better video journalist. Unfortunately, my California zephyr Amtrak video, I’m not happy with it, but I have so many other projects that I don’t wish to work on it anymore: put it online and get it over with. And when I go to Baltimore next week, I’ll definitely be watching your videos and Fuski‘s videos on how to tell a good story if you’re going on vacation for a couple of days. I learned you got to have a plan for your story before you hit the editing room, not just shoot random shit and put something together because that’s when we get lost and sometimes you walk away with a good story, and sometimes we walk away with a cluster fuck or a hard story to tell and figure out if that makes sense to people if we just film stuff and think about the story after all the filming, versus before the filming
Thank you! I appreciate it! There's nothing wrong with eating alone. I'm definitely an extroverted introvert and I really appreciate time on my own. I used to be really shy, but I feel like my main barriers these days to a social and dating life are time and money. Everything is so expensive here!
Yeah, it definitely helps to have a plan when making a video or at least a loose guideline. I'm hoping your Baltimore trip goes well! That sounds like an incredible adventure for the fall with Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands! At the same time, make sure to enjoy your trips and not just focus on the filming too.
Trust me, James, you will have no problem acquiring a significant other in your life.
You have what We all seek in life… a person who offers variety in more ways than one.

I know what you mean. It can definitely be a little intimidating to dine at a restaurant alone, but sometimes it's just tough to get people to join, especially when the food can be costly like at a Michelin starred restaurant. 63 Clinton in particular, had great service and made me feel so welcome even though it was just me. Interesting to watch these reviews of some of the less well known Michelin restaurants in NYC. I went to 3 on my last visit in 2017 (Nix, Kajitsu and Dovetail) and they've all since closed! So on the lookout for options for my next trip.
That's a shame. It's hard running a restaurant, but it's got to be really tough to run a Michelin Starred establishment. I would definitely recommend 63 Clinton. I really enjoyed the food and I felt like the restaurant provided great value.
@@Jamesnu The pandemic hit a lot of restaurants hard and continues to have a knock on effect. We're even seeing some of the really heavy hitters closing here in the UK - Le Gavroche (the first UK restaurant to get 1, 2 AND 3 stars) and Marcus have both announced they will be closing shortly. Luckily, I've already eaten at both but it's definitely a sign of changing times in hospitality. I can live with it if it means an influx of new places coming out of left field though.

It was so good! Yeah, as far as caviar goes it was a solid deal, but still pretty expensive for me. It was at least worth it!

I maybe missed it, because I just started watching you a couple of months ago, but I would love to here how you decided to start running.
I may go into it further one day, but basically, I started running pretty suddenly. I did a 5k and then just kept wanting to run further and further until I ran my first marathon about 3 months after I started.
The restaurant looks like it's where Bradly Cooper's apartment was in the movie Limitless.
I love that movie! His apartment was in Chinatown which isn't too far from that restaurant.

Not sure whether to wish you a belated birthday or pre birthday for next year since it’s now November. So Happy Day!!! Every day! Although
I gave you a thumbs up, I would not be a big fan of a restaurant like this. It appeared to be a bit too grungy and the decor seemed patched together, The garbage in front of the restaurant before you go in to eat was a nice touch as was the peeling paint. Some of the food looked good but not a big fan of the presentations or food combos. (Giant gray rustic pottery plate with 1 tbs of food). I know it’s the trend to present food on huge plates with a small amount of food but at least provide beautiful plates. Grey/gray plates make the food look unappetizing. But…hey it was your birthday and you enjoyed it so that is all that matters.
Thank you! It was a great meal! Yeah, the interior was nothing special, but it was clean and the trash outside is just unfortunately part of the neighborhood.

55 bucks for a temaki loaded with what looked like over an ounce of caviar is a pretty good deal.

By the way, how is the housing and rent situation in NYC right now (post pandemic). From the streets it sounds like they are raising monthly rents again. It seems only millionaires can live on Manhattan now 😞 BOOOOOO.....

Happy birthday James! I think having a date for a birthday dinner is over rated. While the camaraderie is nice and that does sound selfish, when there's amazing food in front of you, it can be somewhat of a distraction -and not to mention your videos may not be as enjoyable.
