The story having those short paragraph breaks to highlight the comedy and the specific times and moments- reminded me of the Traflamadorian book that Billy is given to read right after being abducted. With every section being just a moment in time

You did an outstanding job of analysis here, Simon. I appreciated what you reveal about Vonnegut's storytelling techniques as well as the recurrent themes and scenes in the book. I recall that Slaughterhouse-Five was a book that fundamental changed my perspective on my native America and, as you do an extraordinary job of explaining, it was disillusioning - but in a good way.
I can't wait to see what you do with Harper Lee. Hopefully, you also mention the incident of her helping Truman Capote with In Cold Blood research (another incredibly revolutionary book!). And, I am of the Go Tell A Watchman is shite opinion.
Thinking of it, I definitely see a link in S5 to Catch-22 which had a similar vibe. How about Gravity's Rainbow? Tyrone Slothrop seems to me to be somewhat similar to Billy Pilgrim in that Tyrone is sort of unstuck from life in general. Also, Pynchon also connects scatology with nazism like Vonnegut. Hmm, being that we know nothing about Pynchon, could that be a pseudonym for Vonnegut kind of like Emile Azar was for Romain Gary?
As for this video, it is a truly great how you were able to summarize it and add more so much cultural context. I got most of them except the Groundhog's Day/manga reference. ;-)

Thanks for the thoughtful reply, Michael. I think you'll be happy with the topics I cover in the Harper Lee video. As for Gravity's Rainbow, it went over my head a bit when I read it, but I was pretty young at the time. Looking forward to delving into it again in the future.
