That's hinted in prior epsiode when Vaggie mentions that should be more authoritive, and Charlie moans "That's soo mean!"
I feel that we've still not seen full power of Charlie. In prior interviews it was said that Charlie has wings, from her dad's inheritance. WE finally got to see her change to more demonic form, than just sharp teeth and horns, we actually got to see a tail and pitchform manifest.
I'm hoping in next season we get to see her transform more and get wings.

I think it was supposed to be more of an indicator that she is still holding back. She's supposed to be the 2nd most powerful being in hell, but Charlie is not someone willing to do harm on a whim. That's why she fought with a shield, not a weapon. That's why she stopped her dad before punching Adam into mush. The one scene where she protects her dad from Adams attack and her arm gains some extra power is meant to be but a glimpse of her full capabilities.

Also, part of me actually wants to see Adam come back as a sinner demon. Because as it stands, he's almost a Martyr for heaven. Someone who died at the hands of demons while doing his job. If he appeared in hell as a new sinner demon. It wouldn't just confirm that souls can go up or down even in the after life. But also shows that it's possible angelic weapons don't eliminate people but send them to a new part of the cycle depending on their choices. Also, having Adam thrown off his throne and being forced to live with the sinners he once killed would be more ironic of a fate. Like, he got into Heaven on a technicality and now he's getting his proper punishment.

We already know an angel killed with an angelic weapon can become a sinner in hell. This is exactly what happened to Vaggie - Lute took an eye and slit her throat with an angelic spear. I feel Sir Pentious's death actually works. Alastor couldn’t handle Adam, how could Sir Pentious? Further more it adds to the scene being heartwrenching, because he never stood and a chance and he dissapeared just like that, i almost didn’t understand at first that he was truly dead. His sacrifice felt almost like it was for nothing and that was painful to know about, because how dare it be that way? But it is that way, irl its always been that way. And this show deals with a lot of existential questions. It doesn't take away from the scene, it is just different in the way it is experienced.
Talking from experiences, since my dad has died of a heart attack on the streets right next to me. I was usured to the side, unknowing of what happened. A first aid responder came up to me, and i was told she probably needed to ask questions about my dad's stuff and history, only for the first thing out of her mouth to have been "He's dead." No explanation, not gloves, no epic fight against death from his side, he just fuxking died on the sidewalk while walking with me. I had just seen him talking and well a couple of minutes ago!... so i dont hate that this is what happened with sir Pentious. It feels more real and present than if the scene had followed the code for a character's typical death.

I think it's sort of like the Loki's show banishment. I mean exterminations as death is kind of dumb, considering all sinners are already...dead. The exterminations are likely just returning the sinners back to the kharmic cycle to try again. In this case, since Sir Pentious going against his grain , he ended up in heaven after extermination. But then again, this show is about glamourizing the demons and sinners. So who knows?

My current theory is both Lilith and Lucifer realized that without heaven's cooperation the only way to liberate hell would be to take-over. But that would mean evil taking over. Not wanting that, they agreed to let heaven do whatever they wanted as long as innocent hellborn were kept out of it. Lilith was taken to heaven to keep her in check, since her music is capable of persuading the souls of the sinners (Charlie's power), and Lucifer was forced to stay and protect Charlie, also to maintain a semblance of order in hell with his mere presence.
This is why Lilith takes Charlie away during "More than anything". Lucifer had to stop dreaming about saving souls from hell, and stop putting ideas in Charlies mind. But it was too late, Charlie did grew inspired by her father, and his account of the past still paints Lilith as a protector of her people.
There's still a chance Lilith is playing a long game, letting Charlie take charge while she still "makes good" for the deal she made with heaven. But for the last scene in the show, I kinda suspect she really just wanted to keep the deal going not expecing Charlie to get that far.

Charlie is obviously more powerful than Alastor, the difference is she isn't used to using it or practicing with it. You could see toward the end of the fight with Adam she was able to rustle up some intense strength that effortlessly overpowered Adam. It only happened in that one moment, but Charlie is not a fighter and not used to fighting. She spent half of this fight with a shield just blocking attacks and not retaliating at all.
Lucifer seems to be much the same way, he only punched Adam ONCE at the very start, to get him away from Charlie, the rest of the fight he just avoided him and didn't fight back at all until the very end when he hit the ground and Lucifer started beating the hell out of him. He was critical of Alastor and other demons as being mindless killers, so maybe he feels like violence is beneath him and only really uses it when has absolutely has to.
Charlie is straight up half Lucifier, presumably the most powerful or nearly the most powerful angel, and half Lilith, presumably the most powerful demon. In a lot of stories, nephilim are way more powerful than both of their respective halves combined, and she isn't just some random one, she's the one made out of the top tier power houses.
Charlie also has wings, though she strangely doesn't use them. I'm guessing they are angelic wings, like Lucifer, and perhaps she doesn't use them because of an aversion to angels (given the extermination) or the aversion to her father. But now that she has basically worked out her daddy issues and her girlfriend is an angel with wings, i'm going to guess Charlie will start using her angelic wings in season 2.

Lillith is probably a selfish person and a manipulator.
The entire story from Charlies picture book was probably told from her perspective. When Charlie says that her Dad only ever calls her cause he is bored or needs something... thats probably something Lillith told her. Because we know that isn't true. We see how nervous Lucifer is about talking to her. There is no way he would just call her up cause he is bored.
Also the Scene from Episode 5 where Charlie is a child. I didn't take it too literally but now I am pretty sure that she has been actively trying to isolate her from her Dad for a very long time and Alastor's behaviour in Episode 5 also makes a lot of sense when a central goal is to keep Lucifer and Charlie seperated.
Lillith likely struck 2 deals 7 years ago. One with Alastor for some reason the other with someone from Heaven and that deal allowed her to stay in heaven. When we see her she is just chilling and having a good time in heaven not a worry that her daughter was supposed to be exterminated that day.

6:55 I honestly like that Pantious made it to heaven, because it suddenly explains in a very interesting and fun way Sera's perspective: no one knows how to get to heaven not because it is a well kept secret, but because _no one knows how to get to heaven. Not even her nor the angels._ The fact that it just happens and that is why Sera refuses to intervene characterizes her in a much more interesting way. She's not simply a liar keeping a broken system in check, but was actually entirely honest during the trial about her perspective. It does seem to me right now that "double-dying" in the hella-verse can lead you either to heaven or to a fate we do not know yet (could be just quite literally dying or just refreshing their judgment). But either way, it begs a lot of interesting questions. Will the hotel need to execute redeemed sinners? Is there some "double-hell" some go to (as Angel Dust jokes about in the pilot)? It's really interesting and opens up things for the show to explore in later seasons. And I wonder what they'll do with it.
Also, Lucifer being stronger then Charlie does actually make a lot of sense. Charlie isn't physically weak. She's just not used to fighting. You can see that the moment she stops saying "sorry" to all the angels she parries, she causes a huge spark. But she's just so used to solving things the friendly way that she can't hold on her own in a fight, and only kicks ass when she's helped by her father.

He probably wants to recruit her to the Vs simply for that........ and she may be extremely vulnerable to suggestions by him.
also i am gonna say that the power of the redemption and the act, The Ulktimate sacrafice, might have ursurped the power of the angelic power he used.
Weee also don't know waht the weapons actually do. It seems implied that they 'kill the souls'. But far as we know that isn't what they really do. FAct they can be used on angels and demons alike especially.
A possible hting they do is less' kill' and more 'untether' the victim. No longer attached to their body or even heaven or hell, and end up drifting in the void.

Which means, that she never passed judgement, and if she were killed she might end up in heaven. I think, that Lilith figured out the angelic weapons in the past, and lead a full on uprising against heaven. Not with the goal of self defense, but the idea of destroying it. Adam knew, that he cannot win conventionally so he offered to give anything Lilith want, if she stops the uprising. And Lilith's demand was a place in heaven. Now however the same risk occured. As demons found a way to fight the angels, and from there it is only one step to find a way to reach heaven, and if that happens, then they are toast.

I think they killed Adam to early and I would think that Sera would've saved him, since she probably helped in creating him. Adam does have a point, he was the first human to bring all of humanity to the world and it's not like he is responsible for the sinners being in hell in the first place. While he is an arrogant jerk he did seem to care for Lote and he was probably told by the angels that he was special and flawless, giving him that huge ego boost. Would've been more interesting to see his side of the story, what happened in Eden to have made him so blood thirsty. All we know is that Lucifer took his first wife than corrupted his second wife with the forbidden fruit. I would've liked to know if at one point he was a decent guy, who was just a bit arrogant then becoming bitter and more selfish over what happened with Lucifer.

What if the writers' long game with Sir Pentious is that his ascension to heaven proves sinner souls can be redeemed and that the boundaries between the two afterlives is much more vague than either side expected? Sir Pentious' journey could end with a heartwarming note where he decides his own destiny; heaven's golden cityscapes are immaculate but he found his family in hell and returns to the basement floor after filing a request with Sera (or after stealing an apple from a shop xD). it would make Charlie feel validated and still allow the crew to decide they want to make a little happy place in hell so nobody goes to heaven. maybe heaven is the friends we made along the way?

I really hate that this season didn’t get the amount of episodes that it deserved. And I know it was out of the teams hands but really left some scenes to fall flat. The scene where Vaggie was learning to fight for love wasn’t in character for Vaggie at this time. We should’ve had some scenes where Vaggie was fighting like Carmilla said. And the Sir Pentious scene and his death is in character but has no weight. The thing that the writers failed to do is give you characters where you’d be sad to see die. We never got to learn about the main cast and get that emotional weight. As a writer, I know in a limited amount of time it’s going to be hard to do that. Though there are some scenes where we could get those, even where’d Vaggie got her wings could’ve had more weight if they’d put it where she gave mercy to Lute. I think the writers are just looking at the plot points and the action but not much of the character’s personality and flaws that can go with the plot points.

Here is the thing. In terms of raw power Charlie definitely has way more than Alastor. She was able to actually hurt Adam while Alastor mainly dodged his attacks and the attacks he did land not doing any visible or lasting damage. Sure you can argue that was mostly because of her trident but later on When Adam was trying to attack her and Lucifer she was able to block a full power attack from Adam with no effort even surprising Adam himself and as a reminder a single punch from him broke Alastors barrier and even Alastor could not block his attacks. These two feats alone I would argue put her raw power above Alastor but she is lacking both in terms of skill and mastery of her power as it seems like she did both those things on accident and she seems to genuinly not want to hurt anyone even choosing to spare Adam so she is still holding back.

Adam beating Alastor was an obvious conclusion because Alastor didn’t have any way to damage let alone kill him without an angelic weapon. If anything Alastor was dominating the fight and only got overwhelmed near the end, he had multiple opportunities to kill Adam if he was actually able to damage him. What I am trying to say is that Alastor was extremely impressive considering he was fighting against someone he couldn’t do ANYTHING against no matter what he did.The only reason Charlie damaged Adam is because she caught him completely off guard. Her trident is also probably a gift from Lucifer as it has an apple on it so it is arguably not even part of her own arsenal. And while she did stop Adam’s punch Alastors barrier did the same despite being destroyed. Not to mention Adam was still weakened from all the fighting when she stopped his punch and In an actual fight against Adam she was instantly defeated. She definitely has potential to surpass Alastor but as it stands she can not beat him right now.

Alastors ultimate goal is freedom so he will either use his favor to ask charlie for help against her mom
Or we know Lillith's given goal will be to stop her daughter. So maybe Lillith offers Alastor freedom in exchange for using his favor in a way that would pit Charlie against Lucifer since Episode 8 made it clear that as long as Lucifer is on Charlies side she is kind of untouchable.

I think the quick, non-epic, unequal death of Pentious was needed. The absolute contrast was just what needed to make Charlie snap, and the thought of finally starting to see PERMANENT loss of all that she worked for did it just right.
And it wasn't in vain, it turned things in their favour, as Adam and Lute were the only foes that were actually relevant to take down.

@@zerotodona1495 She isn’t making Christianity look bad, Christians are. Most fiction about conflicts between Heaven and Hell are actually about people who consider themselves holy vs the people they consider sinners, and if you didn’t get that from Episode 6 you might not ever understand it.
The reason Adam is how he is, is that he represents a particular kind of self-righteous cruelty; he’s a guy who’s been nursing a grudge since forever, refusing to forgive because holding the grudge allows him, in his mind, to be as nasty and hateful to all the sinners and demons, since despite not being the ones who wronged him, they’re on the “other side” eg Lucifer’s side, and thus he feels justified as treating them all as extensions of Lucifer.
That’s a very real type of person, it’s good characterization. This show isn’t being presented as a new religious canon that people ought to replace the Bible with and take as literal inspired Word of God. It’s a funny, unserious yet insightful cartoon about the problems that arise when Christians, especially very public-facing Christians, fail to DO the same as they SAY others should do.

      @vixxcelacea2778 Před 4 měsíci +3

@@zerotodona1495 Adam was a spoiled child shown no real love. Subservience isn't love. It's dominion. Adam was basically told "Here, you are now alive, have all these things." Born as an adult, yet no life experience. Given a wife who is literally created to basically be his slave. That would mess with anyone's mind.
The show also doesn't follow Genesis to a T at all. it takes inspiration from a lot of iterations of the bible and mythological background regarding it. Like biblically accurate angels, which most people never do.
Genesis as written in the bible alone brings more questions than answers and looks like pure cruelty because it was all fate driven, not free-will driven. Can't tell someone to not sin if they don't even know what sin is and if Adam and Eve didn't even have free-will, then how could they have known or even have the power to disobey a direct order from God? The apple gave knowledge of good and evil. You can't commit evil if you don't even know what it is. And the second they knew, they were tainted.
Why was the apple there to begin with? Did god intend that to happen? Why punish all of the progeny from Adam and Eve if the sins of the father and mother can't be passed on to the child? Or was that just retconning later to seem less harsh? A Omnipotent and omniscient God means they'd absolutely have known Adam and Eve would eat the apple, which also actually destroys the concept of free-will too. Plus, why was a snake there to even tempt them? It was about as intelligent as telling a 2 year old just barely knowing enough to converse that they shouldn't touch the hot oven, because it's hot, when they have no concept yet of what hot means or what pain is from it. They're going to touch it. If anything, bringing attention to that would guarantee it, which is what happened with the fruit. "Don't eat this" - "Nom" just like children, which is what Adam and Eve basically were. They had no knowledge of hardship, pain or loss. They didn't understand it as a concept, nor what disobeying meant, yet Genesis acts like they do and disobeyed on purpose because they like misery? Can't have your cake and eat it too, it's a paradox. Either they did know, which means the fruit was just a symbol of it and they knew good from evil already and god was just testing them (why?) or they had no way of knowing and couldn't be at fault. Also, the punishment to Lucifer vs Adam and Eve is massively disproportionate. It's like blaming the addict instead of the dealer. Someone tempting you is worse than giving into it. They start the problem. Though, it's also like letting dealers live and not even putting rules for them to stay away or putting them in jail, then getting made at the addicts for being addicts. It makes no sense.
It's a weird story with a of plot holes. It baffles me that people don't scrutinize it more when reading it. Makes for a very interesting mythology though.
But as far as a belief system goes, the bible alone makes itself look bad. My all time favorite example is the story of Job (No matter if it's in the Christian or the Jewish context, both show God in a bad light.). Wives and daughters are totally replaceable so long as they're hotter! Or, I need to test your loyalty (even though I'm all powerful and absolutely don't need it and it's weird to want to be worshipped from the get go) because you probably only like me when things go well, so let me mess up your entire life, take away everything you love to test this.
Also, in the Christian and not the Jewish view, God is petty enough to actually make a wager with the devil, only for him to get you to torture your favored humans on earth. Didn't know a guy with omniscience and omnipotence couldn't see that that was the goal a mile away. Another cake and eat it too scenario with that declaration of seeing and knowing all.
Don't even need fringe zealots to do that. Same goes for a lot of religions if you actually read the text, which is why I brought up both Jewish and Christian interpretation of the story of Job. So much of it is great fodder for grand horror stories, honestly.

@@fellowsoliderofchrist2263 I've heard someone speculate that Eve is Roo and she holds a grudge against heaven and hell and maybe even earth too.
She hates heaven for only allowing Adam to ascend and obviously holds a grudge against him too for kinda forgetting about her, despite the fact that she was the one who "obeyed" him, did everything for him like she was created to do. She even wanted to share the apple with Adam, so it's pretty understandable why she wants him and heaven dead.
She hates hell, specifically Lucifer, for ruining her life in Eden even if he initially meant well. And what would be a better revenge than to infiltrate the Hazbin Hotel with Alastor and ruin his family from the inside out. Eve/Roo is probably pretty miffed about the fact that Lucifer got to have a happy family while she wasn't able to.
You might be wondering where Eve was hiding all this time if not in hell where Lucifer would know of her whereabouts. Maybe she created her own little "dimension" that is interconnected with hell, maybe like the purgatory (?). Since maybe before she was sentenced, hell hasn't been created yet, making her the first sinner officially, since Adam was taken in by heaven.

Adam looks much more complex than "the idiot antagonist macho way", I mean, 1º the "background story" that we know is only from the perspective of lilith and can be a lie, 2º even Adam being a Jerk Lute and the others exorcists looks like respect him as a good leader/warrior, and how Lute react with his "death" its clear that or they were big friends or a couple, so its clear that Adam is much more, and Behind that facade of an idiot who talks nonsense there is someone much more serious, probably partly a victim of circumstances and who plays a much bigger role in all this than it might seem. Now that Lilith looks like a "the bad guy" in this, maybe she was manipulating Adam or something like that. And what about Eva?. Adam and Lutes relationship is honestly one of my favorite things. There is a picture I saw, where Adam had a McDonalds kids meal and lute is screaming at the employee that Adam didn't want pickles and it kinda sums up their relationship.
Adam was spoiled and Lute was an enabler for him, but it's almost endearing and cute.
Lute and Adam were ride or die, and even though they are villains I think many of us can't help but find their relationship endearing. It really seems like they had a deep connection and caring for each other, which is something rare and beautiful.
I just wish we could have seen them redeemed, where they could be ride or die but in a healthier way.
Maybe it's my toxic trait but I loved Adam and Lutes relationship. They were always hyping each other up, working together.
