    I once asked a music professor who he felt among modern artists was the closest to being a new Mozart, and without hesitating he said, "Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters." Called Grohl "omni-talented." Eighty four years old retired music teacher, and he names Dave Grohl as Mozart's successor. Got to say I agree with him.

    There was that mining incident a few years back where some miners were trapped underground but they could drop down food and water etc, the miners requested a device to listen to the Foo Fighters while they waited to be rescued, and Dave heard, and ensured they all had tickets to their next concert in the area.

    Dave Grohl really should be the patron saint of music reaction channels, as he draws from many different genres and sounds. Ask most hard rockers for their influences and they'll pull out Zeppelin, the Stones, Hendrix. Meanwhile Dave pulls out Gerry Raftery and the Ramones, and decided to become a drummer because of Rush (and inducted them into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame). You can find a video of one of his concerts where he brings out Rick Astley to sing a duet of "Never Gonna Give You Up". He played the devil in the Tenacious D movie. He's covered everything from AC/DC and the Beatles to Adele and the Bee Gees. Just an amazing artist and person.
    Even better, when a small town in Italy got a thousand people together to perform the Foo Fighters song "Learn to Fly" to convince the band to come there to play... and they made it the final stop on their world tour.

    The vibe in a song is EVERYTHING! It is what connects you to the music,the first and deepest layer of any track. Lyrics can be contrived and music can be over produced,cookie cutter,flavor of the week but the vibe is pure sincerity.
    ( i was speaking generally. This is a great song)

    I always hear about how these kind of videos are fake but really who cares if its actually their first time or if their faking it its always cool to watch someone just really jam as though it is their first time. The smile of someone whos truly having a good time like this is always infectious!!

    I'd love to see your reaction to Airbourne' "Raise the Flag" which is a very hype rock song that just makes you want to do some racing. Very underrated song in my opinion.

    As the Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl the Foo Fighter Singer/guitarist was voted top drummer of the decade of the 90's by Drummer Magazine. A magazine by musicians for musicians. Drumming is his primary skill yet look at how well he does this...

    You want massive guitars? Heavy is the Head - Zac Brown Band ft. Chris Cornell. And if you see it on the SNL performance there's no joke at least 5 guitars on stage. It's EPIC!

    Dave is a very talented musician. To go from drums to front man is pretty amazing in itself, but he's able to play every instrument oh so very well and wail on the mic.

    Fun fact: the band is named after World War II pilots who chased Alien UFO’s. They called them Foo for short. 👽 🛩 🎸

  • @albertorojas5158
    @albertorojas5158 Před 3 lety

    In response to your question, the name Foo Fighters came from world war II, where pilots would call UFOs: Foo Fighters. While Dave was recording the first demo that later went on to become the band’s first album he was really into reading about world war II and paranormal stuff. As he was already known as the former drummer for Nirvana he didn’t want that to lever onto people’s opinion while listening to the demo so he branded it under Foo Fighters and it stuck.

    Used to cover this song with my band. Always will received. Can't wait to see foo fighters live in concert here in Fairbanks Alaska next month. Glad you think Dave Grohl can sing, but he, himself in an interview says he can't sing, and pretty much just screams. That's how humble he is

  • @w.geoffreyspaulding6588

    Fun fact: The Foo Fighters just did a concert June 26th of this year at Madison Square Garden. They were the first band to play there since the pandemic cancelled all the concerts. They were the re-opening act! The entire concert is on CZcams. The energy and emotion from the crowd was off the charts and Dave got very emotional in return. It’s great to watch, if you want to see something cool.

    they’re called foo fighters bc when dave “started the band” it was just himself and he didn’t want to sound like it was just one guy. he also really liked aliens and had frequent dreams about them. Alien fighting aircraft was called foo fighters, so that’s what he put on the cassette tape.
