This concert was held on 12 January 1985 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Estimated crowd: 350,000 people. The government of Brazil claimed only 2% of the crowd was fluent in english. But they all knew Freddies song and samg it back to him. Love and respect.
    Farrokh Bulsara (Freddie Mercury). 5/9/46 - 24 November 1991.
Born in Zanzibar to Parsi-Indian parents. Immigrated to England in 1974. Passed from complications of AIDS at the age of 46.
Perhaps the greatest male frontman in rock history.

The most incredible thing about this video is that most people don't realize how incredible it is that all the people in the stadium are singing in English. In Brazil, only 5% of people understand the English language, and Portuguese is spoken massively. But even so, everyone sang the song in English correctly, making it clear how loved the band Queen has always been in Brazil.

'Love of my life' has always been one of my favorite Queen songs. It's such a powerful yet fragile song. 🙂
Freddie wrote the song about Mary Austin, his girlfriend at the time. Mary actually dated Brian May previously and met Freddie through him. They lived together for a number of years until Freddie told her he was gay and they split up. They remained very close friends though, and he actually left his estate to her after he passed away.
Nowadays, Brian usually sings it (he sang on numerous Queen records in the past as well, I think on most of their albums actually) while playing the acoustic guitar during concerts, with everyone turning their cell phone lights on. During the song, everyone sings along and during the last part Freddie appears on a big screen. Probably the most intimate part of a Queen concert. czcams.com/video/IK0CkUOTfYQ/video.html was during the concert I attended in Amsterdam last year
2:23 I was born mere weeks prior to this performance 😅
I don't know what it is that makes Freddie so unique, but he's still so iconic. The way he moved around on stage, how he could control a crowd of tens of thousands, his extreme vocal range... Everything about him was special. Quite possibly the best stage presence of any artist ever.
Also the fact that he wrote a song that combined rock and opera into one was something bizarre at the time. Afer Queen recorded Bohemian Rhapsody, nobody believed in it. It was too long for radio, it would never be a hit, etc. Freddie's brilliance really showed in that song even though it started out as a joke, and it's still regarded as one of the best songs ever.
    4:19 That high note 🤩
7:27 If you have any questions I haven't talked about under your Live Aid reaction or this one, hit me up. Queen is a band I know quite a bit about, I've always been really intrigued by them. The movie answers quite a few questions already I think (although it isn't fully accurate, there are some things in the movie that didn't actually happen like in real life) and is definitely worth watching.
About reacting, after reacting to some more Queen, also give Queen + Adam Lambert a go. It's the guitar player (Brian May) and the drummer (Roger Taylor) with Adam Lambert as their new singer. The comparison with Freddie is astounding, as is is voice.

    • @nesimusic9153
      @nesimusic9153 Před 7 měsíci

First of all, what Brian and Roger do with AL is not Queen!!! This is rather tribute! There isn't Queen without Freddie and John!! They were the Queen!!!
Then don't you know what makes Freddie so unique?
First His amazing unique Voice which has an effect on everybody! His tone, the nuances,He could Switch easy from high to law notes and back, from one music Genre to another. He could sing everything!!!! And playing the Piano at the Same time beautifully! He could sing/Play a song after Hearing it only once!!!! He could Play on guitar too¡He wrote numerous amazing Songs!!! For example BoRhap, which is one of the best Song in music History,a masterpiece !!!! For BoRhap they recieved an Award already 1976 As the Best Rock Song in the Last 25 years!!! It's absolutely a very unique Song! British Scientists tried to find Out the meanings of it.
He created the crasp Logo of the Band and other sign as well. He had a very unique and versatile Voice and style, amazing ability to connecting to the audience.
2016 an international Scientist group prooved Freddie's Voice and they could found interesting Things!!His personality comes trough on the Stage! He was Born to this!! The whole band played amazingly Well together, very flowless!! The Only band whoes Every Member is Member of The Hall of The Songwditers!!! The whole band is unique As well!!!!

I thought I read some place that he was very shy on stage when Queen started 1970. I accidentally came across a remedy for another one of his problems, his vocal chord damage. He found bt rehearsing naked it helped him. I don't know anything about that but I'd say he was very clever the way he hid his injuries, which included employing the audience to do the show for him. I used to hurt my own vocal chords trying to sing like he did. Queen is 15 years in the making and has gone through a lot and evolved by this time they were major stars and could fill an arena with people who could sing all their songs.

Hi Inna. You said in a previous reaction that you'd like to learn more about Queen. Please try to watch the film 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. It's based on the life of Freddy Mercury and the group 'Queen'. Rami Malik plays the part of Freddy Mercury, and I don't think they could possibly have cast anyone better in this role. There are also comparison videos on CZcams that compare Rami Malik playing Freddy Mercury at Live Aid. That would make a great reaction video. Love your passion. Much love from the UK. Oh, and I'm in my mid 50's and was so blessed to have seen Queen live, at Live Aid. Best 20 minutes of music in history (in my opinion of course)

Another great reaction. You will love Queen's Somebody to Love live in Montreal. Their music video Innuendo is often overlooked but is a classic. Please react to Tool. Once you do one it won't be the last. The Pot is a starting point.

Seen queen 3 times. Freddy wrote this to the girl who stayed by him thru life and death. He gave all his money to her, not his gay friends.

If you want and Audio and visual intro to Queen, one that will yank hard on the heart strings, but turns out to be an engaging and unforgetable journey, then let me suggest, watch the movie, “Highlander”. Fabulous really. Get a tissue box or 2, you will probably need them……lol
