Say what you want about Sword and Shield but I LOVED how much personality each of Gym Leaders had ! It was amazing
I think the game is terrible, but there some things in the game that I loved and I don't completely hate it that are the gym leaders, the soundtrack and Pokemon designs

Honestly, I adore what they did to the gyms in this game. The gym leaders have great personalities, I had some genuine fun with some of the gym challengers. But by far the best thing they did, was hype up the gym challenge as they did in this game. I never noticed it until sword and shield, but in previous games it always only seems like you, and a few rivals are fighting the gyms, and noone really seems to care about the gyms really? But in this game, it is an event! It is a spectacular. And I love that.

I think one of the best things about this game is when you get lucky. In previous titles, when we pulled off a stupidly good crit, or tanked a hit and finished the opponent's final pokemon, yeah it felt epic. But here, the music and the crowd makes you even more hyped. It's really not describable until you experience it.
You mean when the crowd starts cheering you on as you get to the final gym pokemon, also the fact the final pokmon is ALWAYS the dynamax, which makes for an epic final blast unless the thing ends up crushing all your hopes and dreams XD

The gym battles were pretty neat. You've got good music, huge crowd, strong opponent, waifus, and a vetrom remix... that I wish I could use in-game.
Gordie is harder than melony 100%
Allister is arguably harder IMO but Bea’s tough too
Hop is hardest rival because they dont use only 1 type
Opal harder than bede because 1. They have at least a LITTLE variety with thier dual types, all bede has is psychic fairy types and 2. Gmax Finale is great for support and alcremie is bulky enough to benefit from it more than non tanks Pokémon, confusion just sucks
Peony is a better old lad than Mustard because he’s harder and a better dad

Even though this game was kinda easy, I like how they gave weight to what you were doing. They said most trainers don't make it past the 3rd gym, by the finals only 4 people got all 8 gym badges! You really were somebody. (Also people would talk about you off to the side)

Actually a few more people made it, if you do the league rematches u get to fight 3 or 4 other trainers who got all 8 gym badges

Battles are meh. I mean, drayden (I think that's his name) was a fucking nightmare back in Unova. Raihan only uses, what? two dragons? Also, I tore him to shreds. I should not have an easier time with the final gym than I did with all other gyms combined.
@@taioru9376 I went in expecting to sweep raihan with ice types, only to see that he does double battles with mostly Ground-Types, and his ace is a Steel-Type. That really threw me for a loop, and I was lucky I picked Inteleon. I had to use Soak and then Wild Charge on Duraludon to take it out. I thought that it was a clever strategy to fool blind players.

If there's one thing I didn't like from the original, it was that segment where it sounds like you're watching a soccer game. Nothing wrong with that, but I like how the remix actually keeps the vibe of an actual pokemon battle ongoing instead of sounding like a sport setpiece.

This remix fixed my biggest issue with the Sword and Shield gym leader theme: the fact that it goes to a major key by the end. I personally think that keeping it in a minor key keeps the intensity up and while the majornkey does provide it with a triumphant feel, there are other ways of doing that while still providing the needed intensity in a gym battle theme.
