So it's a "Battery Charger" 😂
I see what you did 🤣😂🤣😂
Clever...
🤣🤣🤣
thats smart
👍
They made a very smart move making this thing look like a true classic Charger with a modern flare. I really think they're trying teir best to preserve classic muscle, and I appreciate that! Not gonna lie, I want one!
Enjoy your 600$ electric Bill and your Outstanding performance 3 Times before Needing to spend an Hour Recharging it!! Good Luck!!
@@iamzuesthisisthetruth8864 talk about exaggeration
@@iamzuesthisisthetruth8864 You realize that charging an EV at home is about 1/3rd of the price compared to filling up a tank of gas at a station right? This is still just a concept and we don't know anything about the charging capabilities, range, and other aspects yet. We'll have to wait and see on those. You should do more research on EVs, especially if you're going around with "This is the truth" in your name.
It looks wonderful I love it
@@iamzuesthisisthetruth8864 we get it you don’t know shit and are mad at dodge being forced to go electric
This is exactly what I want from a potential electric future: Retro looks, cyberpunk sound, and blistering speed.

Yes 2 stroke brapp!
It's damn good looking! Very dodge yet elegant and muscle car-ish
I appreciate Dodge and all Stallantis taking their time and approaching electrification their way
The car can be 2 or 4 door like Audi S5?
The rear panel is ugly
@@growthcountry It is the most Dodge and it's awesome. Totally Domestic but not Domesticated.
I love it!!!!
They need to get it out as close to the concept as possible. Really stands out imo
Mount a 575 CID v8 2 stroke DFI engine in it. Now it will be like a yamaha banshee turbo 2 stroke quad.
9:01 sounds freaking awesome
Its kinda got a 2 stroke sound to ii which i like as im a big 2 stroke fan.
It sounds like the Turbo Interceptor from movie "The Wraith"... I dig it.
Yes yes yes. This car is like that but irl i can't deal lol. 😄😄
It looks like the 60' charger. I like it!
If you cant see 68-69-70 charger in this you need your eyes check very bad. I have a 69 charger. Look at the top of the doors top of the rear fenders, it has the split grill look of the 69. With what you said I highly dought you have a 69 charger.
@@jamesmitchell6598 🤣I highly doubt you have testes or a drivers license so fair enough.
@Paul Zero US dollars. He’s gone and confused his moms Stratus with a Charger again. Wacky kids and their laundry pods…..
@Paul 2000 dollars. I bought it back in 1991. Had it restored. It not a matching numbers car.
@@jamesmitchell6598 I had a 68 charger for 440 Magnum and can totally see it in the silhouette. If you can't then you just hate on E-power ⚡ and or need to get your eyes checked.
It looks more like a current Challenger and an older Charger.
Good to see a return to the two door and the front end wing mimicing a hooded fascia is pretty wild and clever. Still a lot to speculate on but considering how risky this is for their user base excited to see more of it. The sound thing is strange but I UNDERSTAND why they feel it's so important. Hopefully it invokes the same emotional reaction as a true engine does.
Most SRT customers are repeat customers. This kills that base rather thoroughly. Huge mistake, imho.
@@ned_frankly Dodge, and by extension all of FCA, had to do something. They're coming up against regulatory hurdles that were going to wreck them because nothing they make is even remotely fuel efficient, the Charger/Challenger was still sitting on an ancient platform that they still had to pay fees to Daimler for using with no hopes of being able to electrify it (there's just no space for it).
Building a new platform from the ground up is the most appropriate action for them to take, and now that they have stated the Banshee is a _powertrain_ that leaves the door open for other engine options so it's still possible this platform will have traditional engine options if that's what you're looking for. But at the end of the day SRT owners and also in it for performance figures and if the Banshee powertrain is more capable than the Hellcat how can that possibly be seen as a loss? I love big engines, don't get me wrong, but this is a wise move to not get left behind other manufacturers who WILL make performance EV vehicles and WILL take those customers if Stellantis leaves them on the table. You may be surprised how many of those repeat SRT customers end up buying something like this for the simple fact it is a performance upgrade.
@@WittyDroog I hope Dodge will consider going the hybridized performance route. It worked for the new NSX, the 918 Spyder, and the P1, so why not apply that technology to muscle cars?
@@ned_frankly You never know... Let these guys finish their work, they might end up with something pretty cool. This way... The V8's might be able to live some more, maybe in hybrid form?
@@revelare_xvii6269 All three of those cars are incredibly niche, high end vehicles of their respective marques so its a bit much to lay that at the feet of what's Dodge's bread and butter "regular" car. Porsche sells more Taycans than 918's, you know?
More likely we may see an ICE option for this platform to help fill out the various pricing levels, though it'll depend on how much this is going to be leaned upon to bolster Stellantis' EPA figures.
I really hope electric cars start to become like this. All of the current ones are hella boring and not interesting especially the performance ones. But this is really really cool, Hyundai is doing something similar right now and I hope everyone else starts taking notes from dodge and Hyundai
Agreed
This car sucks bro and no one will be able to afford it. I’m really glad I have a challenger hellcat, a real muscle car in my garage.
I can see the sound tech on super cars and sports cars, but luxury? Nah! Maybe on the higher performance AMG and M variants, but that’s it.
@@hof5067 That's probably what people who rode horses said when cars became a thing.
@@hof5067 There will be plenty of people who can afford it. As much as we love muscle cars, electric is the future.
This thing looks insane and beautiful you can really see that it is taking key styling from some of the bigger luxury and sports sedans that were around in the 60s and 70s but adding that key touch of sportiness and aggression with its styling I also love its built in widebody.
The styling most-resembles Dodge's own late-'60s Charger, a beautiful design at the time.
I mean don't get me wrong the style is cool and does look good But the only down fall is It's a BEV when you could have made it a plugin Hybrid or a hydrogen
Love it or Hate it, but this car will compete with EVs and the aerodynamics of body is to get the best out EV awd instant torque performance.
@@timeless74 yes with Tesla
@@timeless74 like why can't they learn that BEVs are Bad! and hydro and Hybrid are better!
The sound exhaust is a cool idea. NHTSA requires all EVs to make sound for pedestrian safety and all of the current sounds they make are horrible.
So is that why Toyota and Lexus make those brushless motor cogging under load sound?? 😄
NHTSA will shut this down just like they did Tesla’s boombox sounds while driving.
They should have made it sound like a jet fighter, Literally anything other than that crap.
One could hope so.
@@ericohm9474 the sound was as exciting as an old man groaning on the toilet. It evoked nothing.
hmmmm, where will the batteries be made? Styling looks great and the two door model is a throw back to the old school Charger. The body lines also resemble the second gen Charger. I'm lucky to own an original 69 Charger, no way I would give it up for this. Sorry I'll pass
Now if they could build a reliable small 4 door truck that didn't cost 30k, we'd be in business.
I love that sound, sounds like something from Blade Runner
Nope it sounds exactly like "The Wraith" one of my favorite movies of all time
I think it looks absolutely phenomenal. The heritage to the '68 Charger is undeniable and I'd say it's as good or better looking than any other EV that exists right now. I hope they build it without much change

For a prototype concept this looks production ready. Your Move GM/Ford.
Yes, but at least Ford and GM are actually producing EVs, this concept may take years to come to market if it makes it at all, and the production version may be very different
@@jamespaul2587 Sure but they're not producing a Camaro EV or an actual Mustang EV although Ford did put the Mustang name in theirs it's not a true mustang.
@@bryanskrantz yes, I agree with you Bryan and I would prefer to see a real Mustang EV styled like a classic, but I'm really tired at endless concepts and prototypes with nothing real being made.
Their move is already made, they are keeping v8s and making them into hybrids in the near future, dodge threw the v8s out the window without even thinking of hybrid v8s or alternative fuels or both. Hell imagine a diesel hemi with a supercharger and/or twin turbos running on a synthetic diesel fuel (if there is such a thing being developed) or biodiesel (not those blends, straight biodiesel) with some hybrid assistance. That’d be the ultimate hemi engine. I might have to make my own diesel hemi now that I think about it
@@jamespaul2587 FCA is > 90% done with the EV jeep design. Just because they don’t have them now doesn’t mean they haven’t been working for years
They nailed this Muscle car EV!🔥🔥🔥
The banshee is Yamaha 2 stroke muscle quad do this car is a stroke
2 stroke dodge banshee
I have to say that I love the styling choices they made.. If it can deliver, there's definitely a market for this..
Finally a cool EV with character.. and it’s a coupe
I hope it stays as close to the concept as possible. The lighting inside and out looks like something out of an 80s Sci Fi movie and I need it in my life.
Reminds me a lot of Kit
TLF THANK YOU FOR HARD WORK ON TRYING TO GET INFORMATION ON THE NEW SRT!
thank you all
Love the throwback logo! Reminds me of the 1970 rt my father-in-law used to have.

They should also offer v8 options. At least hybrid v8
It's a bit late for that lol
@@Trussme96 sadly
Easier said than done. The whole car would need to be redesigned from the frame
They aren’t making any more V8s
This “exhaust” and “shifting” reminds me of that movie with Vince Vaughn and Kevin James where they were designing exhaust and shifting sensations for dodge chargers from mid 2010’s
I love it. I had a Scat Pack, went electric already and have been waiting for this. I can't wait because I am a big MOPAR fan.
The scat pack is a 2 stroke I heard not sure. Dodge prototype v8 2 stroke 449 CID DFI 2 stroker with ETEC technology
Said I would never buy a ev. But dodge changed my mind. Finally a 2 door that's really close to the 68-70 charger. Love to see this in my drive way next to my 69 charger.

I'm blown away by the design. It's incredible. I'm not even a muscle car kind of guy. It's just a straight-up great design. Not that it's financially feasible necessarily, but I can picture this with tweaked front and rear styling to be marketed as a Chrysler luxury vehicle too. I see it in the profile. Quite elegant and handsome.
Dodge ruined it where’s my hemi
Retro futuristic designs are just beautiful.
I give Dodge credit. Government regulations destroyed the muscle car, and it's happening again, but Dodge did the best with the cards they were given. Okay, let's give it two doors, okay let's give it engine sounds instead of stupid whistling/birds/fart noises (not joking, this is a Tesla thing), okay let's make it look like a '68-70 Charger. Again, much respect to Dodge for making it the best of it.
So if it cost a 100k I don't think it will sell. If it starts at 30k and goes up to 70k they may sell decent.
Was thinking the same thing. New EV trucks and cars have been very high in price. However if the car starts at 40k or 50k, that still isn’t a bad value as the US rebate/credit is almost 10k for electric cars w new legislation.
@@johncastaldo2807 yeah and ford and GM just jacked up the price of their EV’s $7500 today, interestingly enough that’s the same as what the EV credit is. You are being scammed.
Base will probably be around 45k and the top trim will be around 120k I would imagine
Don’t see giving up my Hellcat for an Electric Banshees anytime soon, however I was pleasantly surprised. Love to see that Dodge is pushing the envelope and being creative as they are with their cars. Lots of unique and genuinely cool touches to the car. Long Live Dodge!!!
until you put it in donut mode and smoke a hellcat off the line and in the quarter mile. then it doesn't matter anymore does it?

There’s always someone faster. Even after getting the car tuned to 1000hp realistically I’ll still be getting my ass kicked by any performance electric car (Especially because mine is a stick shift)
But when I start my car up in the morning and and hear the growl of that Hemi at wide open throttle I’m a very happy individual 😃
@@chrisolevich7538 I'm a heavy fanatic since a teenager. But I also understand where the market is going. Who knew that mad Max would be reality
Financially electric is better, so I can see why people want it.
No oil changes, tire rotations, other maintenance bull shit yearly
Honestly it’s pretty nice
Only thing that sucks like you said is that there’s no roar of an engine lol
Actually looks sick would probably shorten the back class away from the rear end bumper to make it look better may sacrifice space and aerodynamics though
That look is lifted from the 2nd Gen Barracuda - from the "C" pillar back is all '68-70 Cuda
If you remember, the 1970 chrysler 300 Hurst had a similar wing on the rear molded into the trunk. The front of this Charger resembles this as well. Very nice design.
Dodge isn’t playing around right now. It looks mean!
That looks fantastic. I’ve never been a Dodge fan, like not enough to buy one, but this may turn me. That speaks to Dodge’s design language but it could just as easily be from some cool exotic make. I hope Stellantis invests in Dodge enough to make this happen and allow it to happen.
The Fratzonic logo looks like the logo to an evil empire that you fight to a standstill in a video game.
Those headlights with the aerodynamic pass through are basically identical to a design I'm working on. Guess it means I'm going in the right direction lol.
That is a Dodge through and through. Impressed
I hope this becomes the production version!
I mean the interior has no Push button Start like a new car these days and Is a BEV so it sucks
If you remember in the '90s they came out with a concept version of the Dodge charger and it was a four-door but it did not look like a four-door it looked like a two-door it looks exactly like that but tuned for a newer version
I have a mopar magazine from 2009 that had a huge article with full page photos showing concepts for charger & challenger. Was supposed to mimic the 70 models but never happened.
This is ideal design for electric cars. It doesn’t look goofy.
The triangle thing looks like a flux capacitor. I like what dodge has done, thinking outside of the box unlike their rivals at GM and Ford.
gm and Ford want to sell volume not novelty
This really makes me love Dodge. I love that they refuse to forget their heritage and make some ugly little electric thing. This car is big, looks mean, and promises to be fast. I’m sold!!
Me too…unless it is more than $50k, then I’m out!
@@jrparker4804 yeah price is going to be a major factor on who buys one.
I think its genius to use the sound of the electric motor.
It sounds like something out of a movie.
Imagine telling the driver "hey bro rev the

The Porsche Panamara has gears. It keeps power up at high speed. Given that they reference 200 mph in their press material, I’m guessing it exceeds that in top speed. A transmission of some sort no doubt helps with this. Teslas die off at higher RPM being single speed.
Absolutely Gorgeous car! I want one. I can't imagine how pricey this car will be but I really want one. It will probably be about as useful as an EV as the Hummer but I want one.
Wow! When you first showed the front end, I immediately "saw" the Barracuda
Magnificent design. Might be the first new Dodge I buy since 1998 if it’s worth the price and range anxiety.
This looks terrific.
I like the style and the two doors, much like the 68 Charger. I'm still not sold on plug in battery electric vehicles.
i hear yeah gimmmie a hemi hybrid over battery alone...
@@Dankcatvacs now that sounds like an idea.
That front end should be on the 2023 charger and challenger in my opinion it’s sick af.
Love everything about the car except those haptic feedback buttons. Nothing beats a real, solid button.
Looks sick! My tone for electric just changed
Dodge could also consider Hydrogen ICE. With a particle filter, it could fit the current emissions agenda.
it's a carbon free fuel, there should be no particulates.
Please tell everyone where they could go to refuel on hydrogen
@@CarlosGutierrez-qw6pr Exactly
How about synthetic fuel? It was Porsche's idea.

This is efffffing incredible!!! Love the design and throwback to the old Dodge logo. It jumped out to me right away as very 60's inspired. and the front-end is reminiscent of a 66 Charger in a way. Mind blown!!! 🤯
LOVE the tri-point logo on the front.
That rear quarter panel really reminds me of a 69 charger...beautiful.
not a muscle car if its not got a v8
Thank you for this very interesting heads-up notice guys!!!
Interesting sound, reminds me of the sound from another Dodge concept car the M4S Interceptor used in the 1986 movie The Wraith!
my two friends with challengers told me there goign to be trading in there cars for civic type r's to prove a point to dodge that they will support companies that arnt caving to the electric trend....like honda
Honda is introducing 30 EV vehicles worldwide by 2030 with 10 of them releasing by 2024 and will be completely Electric by 2035 like everyone else. All Major manufacturers will be Electric Only within the next 13 years. Buying a Honda now isn't proving a point to anyone. The worldwide market is shifting to EV power not just the United States.
This looks like a BEAST!!!!!!
Fratzog = Dodge Flux Capacitor. First thing that came to mind when I saw it.
Great video! Really looking forward to more about this. Good discussion, guys.
I don't care about anything but that 126 db exhaust, really hope it sounds good but that all what matters in a MUSCLE car.
The exhaust sound is a little funny to me. Makes it feel like it's trying to be something it's not and not authentic. But I imagine it would just be an option if people want it. Amazing looking and exciting nonetheless 👍
Well, I mean real exhaust are manipulated by different mufflers and often now augmented with an interior audio system. This is definitely taking it to the next step though.
I like it. NHTSA requires all EVs to make a sound for pedestrian safety and the current sounds are all horrible. This is cool.
Sounded like tires stuck and spinning on ice to me.
It's a combination between a futuristic sound and an ICE muscle car. I happen to like it, and think it will grow on people over time (not everyone of course). Don't know why, but the car gave me vibes from the movie The Wraith.
A lot of the excitement and passion come from the sound, and while some people will complain about it being fake, I am willing to bet it will make the driver feel something when driving it. I have been saying for awhile that someone needs to develop a loud, quality exhaust sound system for EVs for enthusiasts, and looks like Dodge may have done it first.
I read somewhere the noises are apparently natural, just that the system chambers the noise outside so you can hear it.
My cat ran when he herd the roar from the banshees speakers lol.
Which is really interesting on the banshee name because for many many many years since the late '90s even in the video game such as Grand theft Auto the name banshee goes for the Grand theft Auto version of the Dodge viper
Sweet back to their 2 door roots!
exactly, i never drank the coolaid bro so i never considered the current charger as a real charger because of the 4 doors
Banshee was also a 7.0L V8 engine code name for SRT that didn’t happen
because they turn the 7.0 to electric
I'm just wondering if it'll stay a 2-door this go around and also I dig the futuristic exhaust thing
I’m sure I’m repeating this from someone else below , but it’s what the Mustang (Mach-E GT) should have looked like.
The Taycan uses a second mechanical gear because it helps above 100mph. The Trumpets of Jericho are subwoofers you might have under a rear seat.
If it’s range matches a Hellcat at top speed which will be about 50 miles, it’ll sell.
10/10 - Definitely would drive. Amazing looks, it's going to be crazy-fast, and it's going to be awesome.
The only downside is how disposable will the car be when people start trying to keep these long-term. After 10 years or even 20 years, will they be able to get replacement batteries or at this point people will trailer dead battery cars to car shows.
yea or battery's gets cheaper and better over time?
Then there's trade-in time when the owner wants to "upgrade". Salesman: "Well, Mr. Smith...since your EV is already 6 years old, your batteries have less than 50% life remaining. Because of that, we can only give you this reduced amount for your trade-in. Sorry about that." And good luck selling it on the open market with low remaining battery life.
@@rocketsmall4547
Understandable, ICE engines can be fixed part by part or as a whole unit. Basically if they make cars like they make smartphones now days, you might be stuck with a car that no aftermarket or OEM battery exists just because it's an old car by then in 10-20 years. And new battery tech might make it incompatable with you old car, from cooling system to voltage or either hardware and software incompatibility.
As long as manufacturers start considering developing electric cars with ease of battery replacement as a big factor of the whole design, i would not be as paranoid about the tech future, but knowing it's all about money, why not make the cars batteries as hard to replace, forcing populace on moving to the next product AKA more sales, more money to be made. Just like smartphones old ones you could of easily replace battery yourself, then new ones don't give people the option to change out the batteries, lock it inside almost impossible to replace.
