    Only in the UK and Holland do you get real hard hitting banger racing.

    For anyone commenting on the use of "good" cars for banger racing...I don't think I have ever seen 1 that could be put back on the road, there have been 1930s cars raced that had maybe 10% of the original body left, on a tube frame running an old ford engine. A "ferrari" got raced that was a real shell on an MR2 chassis...it is just showmanship! Better to have 1 last ride and let people enjoy the spectacle than come out of a hedgerow and straight to a crusher!

      I've definitely seen good cars raced, not often but solid restorable decent cars do definitely go around the track.
      Sometimes the still solid ones have been skillfully repaired or are cars that suffered engine or electrical fires and couldn't be repaired but I've seen cars raced with the still-valid MOT certificate taped inside.
      Someone recently entered his daily driver Granada coupe in a race because his banger had been destroyed and wanted to race.
      So it does happen and probably will more in future as the rotten ones are raced and only the decent examples are left.

    This is wild. Those cars lived their life and went out in the best way.

      When it rains there it gets really muddy, and the mud sprays up. So they wear them for protection pretty much😂😂. I’ve been going there for years and my dad always wears one

      Okay so let me tell why these classics are getting destroyed this way.
      1: they are rotten and can’t be recovered.
      2: it’s more fun than putting it in a crusher
      3: stylish destruction.

  • @kclaptraffic
    @kclaptraffic Před 5 lety

    Hope these races pay good, a lot of these classics are probably worth more in parts than winning the event.

    • @FosterVideos
      @FosterVideos  Před 5 lety +2

      The drivers do it for their enjoyment rather than money, 9 times out of 10 the prize money will be much much much smaller than the time and money the drivers have spent building the car

    • @kclaptraffic
      @kclaptraffic Před 5 lety

      Makes no sense to destroy classic cars that are actually worth money when you can destroy worthless newer cars? I'm all about having fun, but wow. here in the US they actually have a rule in most demolition derby that you can not use classic or historic vehicles.

    • @VladimirBlarp
      @VladimirBlarp Před 4 lety

      @@kclaptraffic I'm in the USA, and have ran demo derbys for 20 years, there is no such rule about using classic cars, ANYWHERE. I participate in "relic" class derbys and every car I have used is older than 1970. My current car that I am building is a 61 Mercury Monterey. Remember, these old 70's American cars are basically useless in the UK. Parts are non-existent
