Fun fact, 15 or more people have already posted that Dave Grohl was the drummer in Nirvana.

Dave Grohl once fell off the stage and broke his leg. He finished the entire show sitting in a car with the Medic holding his leg in anatomical position.

You're correct. It was at a concert in Gothenburg,Sweden. My younger sister was there that day. She told me that he was walking along the stage, next second he was totally gone. Then they could hear him say in the Mic-"I think I broke...i f**king broke my leg" . He got carried out, hospital and got a cast on the leg...then came back on stage because he refused to cancel the show so he got back on crutches and played whole two hours. My sis told me it was effiing magical :)

no, first of all, he didn't actually fall, he tripped on some cable, then decided to jump down cuz he was falling, but it was way further down than he thought......and he wasn't in a car, he was sitting on some kind of throne, with a doctor kneeling beside him holding up his leg and foot ..... (see attached link to the actual story from Dave and Taylor themselves.....it's quite interesting....)

"One of these things is not like the others" is from Sesame Street.
The lyrics for this is, however, is "What if I say I'm not like the others?" so I don't think it is a reference like that.

Yes, it IS about rebellion! Here are the lyrics:
    Keep you in the dark
    You know they all pretend
    Keep you in the dark
    And so it all began
    Send in your skeletons
Sing as their bones go marching in again
    They need you buried deep
The secrets that you keep are ever ready
    Are you ready?
    I'm finished making sense
    Done pleading ignorance
    That old defense
    Spinning infinity, boy
    The wheel is spinning me
    It's never-ending, never-ending
    Same old story
What if I say I'm not like the others?
What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays?
    You're the pretender
What if I say I will never surrender?
What if I say I'm not like the others?
What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays?
    You're the pretender
What if I say that I never surrender?
In time, or so I'm told,
I'm just another soul for sale, oh well
The page is out of print
    We are not permanent
    We're temporary, temporary
    Same old story
What if I say I'm not like the others?
What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays?
    You're the pretender
What if I say I will never surrender?
What if I say I'm not like the others?
What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays?
    You're the pretender
What if I say I will never surrender?
I'm the voice inside your head you refuse to hear
I'm the face that you have to face mirrorin' your stare
    I'm what's left; I'm what's right; I'm the enemy
I'm the hand that'll take you down and bring you to your knees
    So, who are you?
    Yeah, who are you?
    Yeah, who are you?
    Yeah, who are you?
    Keep you in the dark
    You know they all pretend
What if I say I'm not like the others?
What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays?
    You're the pretender
What if I say I will never surrender?
What if I say I'm not like the others?
What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays?
    You're the pretender
What if I say that I'll never surrender?
What if I say I'm not like the others?
    (Keep you in the dark)
What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays?
    (You know they all)
    You're the pretender
    (Pretend)
What if I say I will never surrender?
What if I say I'm not like the others?
    (Keep you in the dark)

    (You know they all)
    You're the pretender

The Pretender was released right around the 2008 financial crash. It's not an explicitly political song, but Grohl has hinted at it being about people feeling like they've gotten fucked over and aren't getting what they were promised.

There are two schools of thought regarding what the song's overall message is meant to be. Dave Grohl has said in the past it was about the political climate at the time, but others have suggested it was a response to comments Courtney Love had made about him (she'd claimed that Dave had used Kurt Cobain's death as publicity for his own band which, ironically, Courtney herself did).

It's funny cuz Dave Grohl actually was questioned about it and he laughed and was like "Oh wow, yeah I might have been subconsciously inspired by that without realizing it." Personally, I think he's questioning people in power. Government, cops, etc. Anyone in positions of power who abuse it. And I think the video specifically points out that while theyre using their voice, those people in power are crossing the line and attacking them for it

Next one up has to be Monkeywrench. Also the "jingle" you're thinking of is from a children's rhyme or cartoon. I always think back to Robot Chicken for making fun of it. lol

And the video is saying how being your authentic self in the best way you know how is in violation of the establishment and the mainstream. How if everyone chose to dig deep and find out who they truly are, worked on their inner issues, and then made a point to live act and be their most authentic self, it will scare those who benefit from your compliance and complacency, hence the presence of the police. The line on the floor is the separation of who you are vs who they, represented by the cops, demand you to be. How they're willing to hurt you and even spill your blood in an effort to force your compliance. The red water, to be blood, is symbolic of the fight, the "war", to win the freedom to be who you are, to stand up against the demands for conformity, and fight back. Blood will be spilled in the process and it's unavoidable, but it's better to die fighting for who you are and what you need vs living a lie.

After Kurt Cobain died, Dave Grohl (drummer for Nirvana) made an entire album by himself. It was the first Foo Fighters album. He ended up recruiting a band to tour with him on that first album. When he recorded the second out he had a band play all the parts, but he wasn't happy with the drummer so he rez recorded all the drum parts and fired that drummer; and then hired Taylor Hawkins away from Alanis Morissette. From that day forward, the Foo Fighters have been a tour-de-force of Rock Anthem authors and performers. Check out their Library. It spans 25 years

Dave Grohl was Nirvana drummer and after Kurt Cobain passed he started Foo fighters as the lead singer. I'm still pretty sure he helped Courtney Love kill him then took his notebook of songs and made this band. They have a very deep catalog of amazing songs. Check out learn to fly

What if I say I'm not like the others?
What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays?
    You're the pretender
What if I say I will never surrender?
