    Mike from Propel here. Some beautiful scenery out there. Looks like a great place to ride.
    Really glad you took the time to get to know the board and get dialed in to discover the precision of mobility we engineered into Ruckus. I really think we are going to see a Ruckus make the podium at next year’s ESK8con in one of the categories. You need precise movement to navigate that track and we think Ruckus has it.
    When we first launched Ruckus we almost purposely downplayed its potential light AT in part because we shipped 7 inch street tires but also because we make Endeavor and the AWD X4R. However, even our more street-focused lineup is certainly light AT off road (Pivot and Ruckus) capable. Channel trucks are great off road and your video is making me want to throw my 7 inch endeavor tires onto my Ruckus and taking mine off road more to enjoy the BVr flex.

      Hey Mike. I've got the propel pivot gt 2 in 1. And it seems I've got almost triple the range on my board with street wheels. When I put on my 150mm wheels. The resistance is alot. No free rolling at all. And I only get 37kms on a battery. Do you figure the belts are too tight? I was running at the recommended 25psi. (But had a flat already)

      @@yohvhThe polyurethane wheels are going to give you the best range for sure but if you’re looking for sort of a hybrid in feel and range have a look at Iwonder’s Cloudwheels Rovers 110s. They offer a Propel kit that I personally have on my own Pivot. Comes with bearings, speed rings, pulleys, everything you need to get setup and it’s a nice in between spot between PU and pneumatics. Low center of gravity, decent free roll, but softer than our stock PU wheels and many PU wheels. You may also want to contact Mad and have a look at the Mad wheels. People rave about them and I’ve seen several of our Pivot owners buy them and love them also.

      @@yohvh Nah, nothing to do with belts. 150mm wheels are pretty small therefore the motors have to work harder and therefore your top speed will suffer. I made that mistake and went right back to stock wheel size. (I believe they're 200mm)

I've kinda fallen off because road conditions aren't the best and sometimes I just don't wanna throw the board into the car get in traffic just to ride on a crowded bike path. With this I can easily cruise my suburb no problem.

      I even told them I was annoyed. They didn't offer a refund or any sort of like "hey for your trouble we will send an extra pair of belts" or something along those lines. I'm mad because i would've saved up more money over the time period and bought a higher quality board. Instead of buying a $1600 board I'd have ended up with a $2500-$3000 board instead. Luckily I still have an OG Zealot that works fine but damn am I bummed. Waiting that long is just unacceptable these days. They should send the boards to the warehouse then say they're back in stock. • @mikemenard4543
      @mikemenard4543 Před 18 dny +4

      Even as a member of the Propel team I can absolutely understand the sentiment and to be honest, some people have been saying our boards have been over-engineered since we launched more than half a decade ago now. 😂Our loyal owners, thankfully, feel differently. 😂 But you’re certainly not alone in feeling this way!
      We get it. Our chief engineer used to be a member of the engineering team at BMW. He’s been part of PEV teams that won a red dot award. He’s always thought differently and set ambitious goals for us. In the automotive world what’s considered “normal” now was once a strange and unique feature debuted by a single company first. We see ESK8 similarly.
      We were considered over-engineered by some when we first launched AWD and removable battery packs. We were considered over-engineered by some when we launched the Endeavor series 3.5 years ago with a monocoque frame with a removable deck on top of suspension angled in a way nobody had done on an ESK8 before. Now, others are selling a similar angled suspension approach with similar upper and lower control arm approaches. Multiple times, throughout our history, we have broken from convention and debuted ideas that our loyal owners have enjoyed, and then other brands have debuted similar ideas afterward.
      Somebody has to put the R&D spending into this business to stop it from remaining stagnant and stuck on copying ideas Boosted debuted long ago. We’re proud to be one of the brands committed to doing so. 😊
      As far as engineering goes though it is important to note that Ruckus trucks can function like traditional channel trucks in many ways even if the damper was removed or somehow knocked clean off. This is also why we want people to get their bushings setup ideally first. So that the hydraulic damping is the bonus. Not the primary.

      Yea it’s a theme I like to see brands attempting. In a world with everyone brand has:

    • @mikemenard4543

      One of our key innovations within Channel truck design was our addition of a third bushing for increased turning precision. Some channel trucks have a sloppy large dead zone near their center point. In video game design the customization options for controllers has never been larger because advanced gamers want to be able to dial in their precision to their unique characteristics and preferences. ADT was made with a similar mindset.

I just thought Meepo would have at least loaned you a belt driven board that you could test the gear drive with by now (after removing the belt drive of course😉).
      The thing is all the good reviewers are gone. I got in during the peek in 2018 or so and almost everyone disappeared from regular testing by late 2022. Hardly anyone respectable are testing e-boards anymore.😔 Daniel Kwan pops his head up from time to time. I know Ronnie Sarmiento injured himself (not on an e-board) JohnPaulYT dropped off the face of the Earth over two years ago; your countryman Jay Boston is gone. How does this compare to the propel pivot gt? I've got that one and I think the ruckus is about the same. But it seems complicated for a beginner to know what to do.

    • @mikemenard4543
      @mikemenard4543 Před 18 dny +4

      Scott might be asleep due to time zone differences but I can help explain some of the main differences from a technical perspective and perhaps Scott will share his own personal thoughts and preferences.
      The Pivot has FOC 2.0. FOC 3.0 on Ruckus is much improved in basically every way that matters. It’s our smoothest FOC ESC ever and I say that as someone who pushed ownership to add a second ESC to the Pivot line in part because I personally felt we should have it. You can adjust each of the 4 speed modes’a top speeds, acceleration curves, and current. You can control the amount the board decelerates when you let off the throttle. You can customize the colors of each of the 4 speed modes. We have a hall sensor switch over when anything abnormal is detected to reduce potential for any kind of esc error lock up.
      The Pivot has traditional double kingpin trucks. Great for carving and mobility.
      The Ruckus has channel trucks with hydraulic damping. These can provide DKP-like carving and precision but have improved trail ride characteristics due to being channel trucks. The hydraulic damping acts as both a safety feature when dialed in correctly to give you a tool to regain stability when a wobble first begins (it can’t stop a sway feeling or wobble trigger from terrain or human movement from occurring in the first place but is there to help you recover once one does) and to give you some fast change characteristics for specific ride scenarios you want to try and then switch back quickly via the dials.
      The Ruckus also has our next level of BVR flex. Pivot was gen 1 and was mostly focused on vibration reduction but Ruckus flex is much more dramatic to the extent of minor shock absorption properties. It’s closer to being in the middle of Endeavor shock absorption and Pivot vibration reduction.
      Ruckus has our latest remote with color screen, 30% more battery life and improved plastics and throttle response. Note: You can also buy this remote and pair it to your Pivot.
      The Pivot is more mobile to pick up and carry and also has a sleek, traditional unibody look and more wheel versatility. Including PU wheels.
      In conclusion, the Ruckus does share similarities in some carving and maneuverability and battery cell and configuration with our Pivot GT but it has several notable technological and deck features to it and the two boards are pretty different when you compare their various strengths and price differences.
