    Try doing what my boss did when I worked commercial landscaping. My boss worked off incentive. Work the whole summer season, the best customer reviews, and the least amount of mistakes gets a 5 day Flordia vacation for them and their significant other. His way of looking at things were a Flordia trip will cost me money, but losing a contract will cost me more. My former boss would take the top 3 performers of that season, and give them a week on him. Just an idea.

But had to because the customers were complaining. The crew uses to complain to company owner about me being mean. What I said was if they just did their job correctly with no customer complaints I wouldn't say a word. I would be happy. But to me. The customer is my boss. I left that company. Without a motivated leader type on each crew you'll need to have a schedule for them each day of what to do to whatever time they need to work til. I've had this problem for 20 years here in Fl. It's difficult finding dedicated workers that aren't pill heads or drunks or just lazy. More work on you, but you can't be everywhere at once. Have them sign off on the schedule every day. @plumberjoe80 Před měsícem

      @@pagelservices I have 5 crews ranging between 5 and 2 workers on each crew. We are located in the twin cities. Although a turf tracer is a bit slower than a ztr it is far less likely to damage properties when mowing in difficult conditions or terrain. A turf tracer with the Kage Wheel Kaddy is the ultimate machine for weekly cutting. With the deck out in front of you the operator is able to get closer to obstacles and corners reducing the amount of string trimming needed. You will also reduce customer complaints because they are less likely to create ruts, or tear things up while making turns. I have standers and they are great for certain properties. If I had to choose a stander or Walk behind I would take the walk behind every day. Another consideration is that turf tracers have a floating deck with rollers that will not scalp when mowing on uneven ground. I watch your videos because it is clear you know what you are doing. I would recommend you giving one a try. They still mow at 7 MPH which is fairly quick.

    your mulching crews need to learn to dump piles in the open spots, they spend too much time fighting to dig mulch out of the barrow and that's also going to ruin barrows as the forks hit the bottom crease. they aren't steel barrows which can handle that. i used to be a stucco tender so i've wore down a few shovels and barrows in my 20's they can pitch and distribute and pick loads with the pitch forks from piles easier less fuss, less muss, making easy sweeps instead of bone jarring jabs. as a tender i could literally long stroke cement faster, further and to more volume than they are covering the same ground 3 times faster. it's almost circular windmilling that is less stress and more muscle finesse.

    wrenching with kenny. your caliper bolts aren't sliding so basically one side is being sucked into the rotor and doing all the work and heating up the most and causing that bad wear.
    if you have a bad crew that's a reflection of your reputation on managing your company and it's reputation, reputation is everything, it's easy to lose, and almost impossible to get back.
    show them all the clients they are losing, that's their paycheck, they don't help other crews cuz they will just cost you more clients and bad reputation....when it gets to a level the other crews can do combined...asta la vista.
    99% of a crew comes down to their attitude towards doing things the hard way or top notch, that last 1% is how well you teach/train and supervise them. if you don't have time for that, you don't have time to run a business.
    set the standards high, play some pitt bull, ..." reach for the stars, cuz if you think about it if they fall, they will fall on top of your girl...." just watched a neighbor with his fence company and his son just knocked up the office secretary....her daddy is performing a shot gun wedding and this girl is gold digging. pray you don't have any daughters. 😅
    if you have a new crew you ratchet down on them by being their supervisor on the job every job until you have to leave the job to attend to other issues and you come back and they have completed the job to your satisfaction, then you can tell them you'll let them have more freedom to do what they need to so long as it stays at that quality level, you do the mowing & direct them everything that needs to be done and make it the best quality every time, every place every touch up and primp possible, that way when they slack off again it will be at a better quality level...and if they don't show them the door.

    You shouldn't have to babysit adult men that should know how to do the job. After giving them so many chances. Maybe consider a 3 day suspension without pay. And if that doesn't work fire them. Only problem with that is trying to replace them. Alot of people don't want to work anymore. You can't keep loosing customers because adult men can't do the job

      It’s pathetic all employers want to do is blame their employees. It’s weak and insecure approach. Until you all realize you’re the problem, nothing will change. Stop thinking you have all answers and make all the right decisions. Also, stop informing your potential employees in an interview that you treat your employees like family. It is the lamest line an employer can use. The employees will always mirror the company. If you don’t care about them, they shouldn’t care about you

  • @GlockPunisher1
    @GlockPunisher1 Před měsícem

    Complaining about your employees is not a good way to go about it. If you have a disdain for your employees, they feel it and act accordingly. Take some of the responsibility and be a better boss and give encouragement, trust and incentive. At the point when you have taken care of your employee lawn, you take out the bad weeds and hire better.

And owners shouldn't be anymore protected than the employee once a job offer is accepted. Stop surveilling your help, and putting it up on the WW Net. That will also Hurt your business.

      @@arbhorrent i agree. i used t be a 24/7 pot head from the age of 14 to about 25 never went a single day without being high. i do regret it now but i had the same mindset at the time that every other pot head has "it helps me work better", which is only true because the withdrawals bring you down but most are in denial about the withdrawals and are convinced they can stop anytime but yet claim they need it to function during work...
      anyway, i quit completely for a few years and was way better off for it, now i just do it at night any time past 7pm and that works as well although not doing it at all is still the best way to go. just found out my wife is pregnant though so we will be quitting for good now. she has a hard time quitting but now she doesnt have a choice so this will be a good opportunity to get her to stop and never start again.
