As for Superman, usually he'd handled by talking to Aquaman without harming the creatures n Atlantis as the very last resort, so this is out of character. I assume this is the Injustice universe judging by the destruction of Metropolis since that would make sense to explain his behavior.

I've become very jaded in how they've been trying to revive the Justice League since the 2000s. For every story that makes them great again there are more where they are horrible people.

This is based in the Injustice Universe. Super man and Wonder woman will act very differently here. in general the JL here is just very different unless you're Batman. Its separate from regular continuity, people upset about this are being silly.

People seem to forget that:
A) Most atlanteans hold a grudge towards humans, so there was a high chance they were going to kill a massive amount of innocent people the moment the police or any other human defense force showed the first sign of resistance.
B) Superman threat was an empty one, as he was still merciful during this moment of the Injustice story line.

I think Aquaman should establish an Atlantic court of Justice or something and then convict these guys there. Instead of just killing people without due procedure. Would that work?
Hate to be on the wrong side, but I think because they are in 'his' waters, his kingdom, they fall under Atlantean law, which means Aquaman is the highest authority. If Aquaman says they are guilty and the punishment is death, that's it. He knows there are acceptable fishing practices, which is why he doesn't sink EVERY boat, but he specifically has a problem with whaling, and it implies a certain sentience to them as well. I don't know how citizenship works in Atlantis, but I'd guess that whales fall under the citizens category while tuna and the like fall under wildlife.

As for due process, Atlantis is a monarchy, under a warrior king. I'm no Arthur, but there's only so many times you can say 'yeah this group killed a family including the children, strung up their bodies, and then distributed the meat to the upper class, but it won't happen again' so many times before I'd consider it an act of war. He DID bring the army with him after all.
I'm 100% in the wrong, don't let my argument imply otherwise, but I can see how Arthur would see the situation. As a king he SHOULD have recognized that whaling was happening in certain areas, and gone to the government in charge, instead of blaming ALL the surface world. Threaten the fishing industry by telling them he'll order ALL the fish to flee their waters if this happens again would probably work as a much better deterrent. Hitting the pockets of the rich works better than threatening the lives of the middle class.

For instance, waste dumping into the ocean wouldn't be as common as portrayed by that Aquaman movie, fishing wouldn't likely be that common, tourism into the atlantis might be common. So, like "not harming whales", "not dumping waste into the water" etc. would likely be the norm, at least imo.
