    About Lorob Bees. "I started everything to do my part with the family gardening, my mom would always work so hard to get the black berry bushes completed without much return. For years people told us to put all of these chemicals on the bushes. One day i realized that it was poor pollination!! That season (2019) I purchased my first bee hive, from there i was hooked! I began to enjoy experimenting and teaching others about honey bees to try to encourage more people to take up beekeeping. The videos that i will be posting pretty regularly will basically be my day to day working in my hives so my customers and supporters can see the behind the scenes. Thanks for your support.. YOU are AMAZING!

    Just received mine today! I’ve kept bees for about 5-6 years now but this is the first time I’ll be treating (tired of them dying over winter- though my hive did make it through winter this year! ). The vaporizer looks to be very well made! And comparing the price to something like the provap (or whatever they call the one that’s $500+) it was a no brainer to get this one! Thanks for offering an awesome product! PS- I like the warning sticker on the bottom- Harmful to varroa mites! 🤣

      @@LorobBees I do have a couple questions for you though- 1. Is it acceptable to drill the hole in my bottom board instead of the bottom box? I use all mediums and would prefer to have the hole in my bottom board instead of having to have dedicated boxes for the bottom of the brood nest or having a bunch of boxes with a hole in them. 2. Since I use three mediums for the brood nest vs two deeps would the dosage be the same or should I increase it any? If so by how much? I use 10 frames. Thanks!

    • @LorobBees
      @LorobBees  Před 3 lety +1

      @@brandonn5371 dosage would be the same. You can go into the bottom board though you may have to hold it due to the stand on the front being too low to rest on the bottom board. I know people who use pallets who drill holes in the bottom side of their boxes. You just don’t want to spray directly onto a frame as it can cause a clog or improper treatment.

    Lorob, Your OA is doing really well down here with Kamon, he took a few mins to say it was in the back area were I'm showing my horizontal hives.. People are asking me Question about the OA and I'm just sending them to your web site. I hope that is okay??? It is sitting on a table all alone I move it onto one of my hives to help people see it but they thought it was mine so I put it back on the table.. They like it a lot and I hope you sell a ton of them...

    I just received a Lorob Bees “Macro” Vaporizer FRONT ENTRANCE, and I have doubts about how to use it because I don't know if the operation is the same as the one applied to the back of the hive. What is the difference between the two vaporizer models? And the second question is, if I can only repeat the doses every 7 days instead of every 5, would the effect be the same?

    Rob, The text in the video says you typically treat 5 days for 6 weeks = 30 days. However the audio says you like to treat for 2 full brood cycles. From my calculations/understanding these are not the same time periods. A drone brood cycle is 24 days therefore 2 cycles is 48 days. A worker brood cycle is 21 days so 2 brood cycles would be 42 days. So to treat for 2 drone brood cycles would be treatment 5 days for 10 weeks or for a worker be it would be 5 days for 9 weeks. Please he me understand which is correct or what I am missing.

    • @kurtschurenberg2311
      @kurtschurenberg2311 Před 2 lety +1

      I'm pretty sure what he meant was to treat every 5 days for 6 weeks. 6 weeks is 56 days. So it would be 11 treatments.

  • @woodlandharvesthoneycompanyllc

    Rob as you know 1gram OA is all that is legal now. Many reseachers and beekeepers are finding that the dose needs to be higher. Do you have plans for making dosage caps that will hold more than 2 grams of OA? Your competition already has caps that will hold a higher dose. I'm asking because I'm planning on buying a vaporizer but am pretty sure the dosage allowance will be raised.

    • @LorobBees
      @LorobBees  Před 2 lety

    • @LorobBees
      @LorobBees  Před 2 lety

      @@woodlandharvesthoneycompanyllc we aren’t sure just yet, I don’t think the XL unit will make it in time for spring. By our design it will likely have to be a different unit though it will be extremely similar just the front scaled up.

    • @woodlandharvesthoneycompanyllc
      @woodlandharvesthoneycompanyllc Před 2 lety

      Ok maybe it will be wise to wait until your new unit comes out. I can get by with my pan type and battery a little longer. My hive numbers are getting to the point that I need to go a little faster. I just think there is a chance the allowed dose will go up. I personally think a single deep hive body should get 3 grams to come in contact and kill all of the mites that are not under cuppings. You don't want surviving mites to possibly get immune to treatment. If you kill them, they can't evolve. Thanks Rob!

    What happens if it runs past 400 degrees with the cap on?

    • @LorobBees

    • @LorobBees
      @LorobBees  Před 2 lety

      @@oknasob Nothing like that, if you leave the cap on for an extremely long time it can promote faster degrading of the caps. That’s the only downside:)
