If three hostages were killed by the IDF, while carrying a white flag, how many other innocent people have been killed in the same way? Why were Christians killed while they were taking shelter at their 800-year-old church in Gaza City, when an IDF bomb hit beside their church? How many of their homes have been turned to rubble? How would you feel if armed drones were constantly flying overhead, while you are without food? Why was Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu-Akieh shot by the IDF before October 7th? These people were not killed by Hamas. Why have these people been ignored by most Christians in the U.S.? Are the Christians being killed in Gaza “Semites”? (Read Matthew 25:31-46.)

Youre assuming that a given attitude is synonymous with one side or the other... its not. There are and always have been censorious individuals on both sides. Authoritarian tendencies, censoriousness, aggression, hatefulness, etc, etc, these things are personal traits, not political positions.
All that matters is that you’re an American who fights for the Constitution in any way shape or form. Even with words is something. Anyone opposing the constitution is an enemy of you and your fellow citizens.

Are you kidding? Show me proof the three students were shot by someone because of their ethnicity? Show me where it states in international law that there is anything referred to as a "right to return" and if you claim such a right exists explain to me why the in never mentioned that such a right exists? "34 thousand" has been repeated for awhile now. My guess is that it's way over 40 thousand by now. Probably closer to 60 thousand, when we think of starvation and death by infections that could otherwise be simply treated. Not to mention those who were simply bulldozed into the ground.

Robbie, for whatever reason is afraid to fight with her, which is why she got to give a two minute monologue and then monopolize the give and take afterward, and all he could muster was a quiet, "well, you know we disagree on this, but" kind of a remark.
Were he not afraid to challenge her and have her irrupt into an emotional tirade, she might have brought up the fact that the students she keeps referencing, were shot off-campus, and there's zero evidence that they were shot because they identify as Palestinians. He could have asked her to cite where in international law there exists a "right to return." And if such a rate exists why it was never referenced in any of the UN resolutions that reference those who fled during the so-called nakba. He also could have pointed out that if it's real, has no right to exist as a Jewish homeland,why she has never brought up reparations for the 1 million Jews, who were illegally dispossessed of their homes throughout the Middle East or demanded their right to return as free citizens who are equal under the law. given that Israel is the only Jewish state and there are plenty of Arab countries that illegally drove Jews out of their borders, Robbie could have asked her why we shouldn't start with half of those Arab states making an effort to rectify that issue first before we worry about Israel? As example, he could have asked her why Iran shouldn't be expected to write the first check and to give their people civil rights protections as a demonstration of good faith. Wheb Jews see Persian girls freely exercising their right NOT to wear a hijab, that would give Jews a reason to believe that they too might be treated fairly were they to reclaim their Iran citizenship.

How much Robbie’s views are a function of his bias against Palestinians. He should go read up some history. The land never belonged to the Jews (unless you believe that the Old Testament is a document of title). Palestinians were forcibly evicted from their homes, their farms confiscated and driven out never to be able to return. That is the origin of this war, not Hamas’ brutal attack on 7 October.

So first of all this conflict didn't start on Oct 7 as a matter of fact almost 300 innocent civilians mostly kids; were killed on Oct 6th by Israeli Occupation Force(IOF) in the West Bank alone. Most importantly to end this conflict; Israel has to look at Palestinians as equals rather then animals and just tell Israeli terrorist forces (ITF) to just let the Palestinians be and stop the blockade and the drones flying above them. Israel should have no right over Palestinians who can't even return to their homes and have to go thro multiple checkpoints just to go to work. And what about the West Bank? There's no Hamas in the West Bank but still the innocent Palestinian civilians are being killed every day by regular Israeli citizens with the help of Israeli police and army which gave weapons to it it's civilians to go take over and destroy Palestinian homes.

IMHO, its shockingly confusing for me to see this entire situation point to this or that, blame this and that all the while ignoring the basic issue and in my view basic solution.
Is it ridiculous to suggest and beleive that if Palestinians and their leaders Hamas would officially negotiate and assure 100% to no future attacks on Israel and vice versa, and agree to mutual respect for each others sovereignty would end it once and for all?
I also have an honest question to this assertion of "genocide" because I find its difficult to reconcile that assertion to the reported historical data and events. The population growth of Palestinians have grown considerably and consistently for the past several decades(since 1950) That growth is at a rate that it is one of the highests population growth compared to countries/people in the entire world, and outpaces Israels popuation growth by approx. 35%.
These facts are difficult for me to line up with the claims of Israel wanting to "eradicate" the Paestinian people, and that they have been living in an "open prison".
Lastly, I have only heard to claims that Palestinans living in Israel are discriminated against and are denied equal rights from supporters in media, but have not beeb able to find any official confirmation of it from an institutional source. Actaully have only found info wholy contradicting those claims, and that Arab Palestinians living in Israel have equal rights and some are even members of Parliament. If I happen to find something new that states otherwise, I'll update this post with the findings.
Hamas is the problem. Islamist ideology is the problem. Glorifying martyrdom is the problem. It is because of the oppressor-oppressed narrative that Briahna refuses to see this.
Once Palestine has its own sovereignty, I doubt it wall take as much as 80 years to rebuild it - I think normal people of the world will be falling over themselves to help. Very surprised and disappointed in Zadie Smith, who seems to be tone-deaf on this issue. That's why the Palestinian "leaders" have rejected each of the four offers for their own state: they don't want their own - they want Jews not to have one.

Why would Hamas surrender? Netanyahu's offer to Hamas and the people of Gaza is basically surrender AND die. Hamas has agreed to recent ceasefire terms and various other deals over the years that favor Israeli. It is Netanyahu that has walked away and refused to agree to peace deals or a ceasefire.

I think a better response to Robbie's argument is that the objective that he believes the IDF is trying to achieve is not possible, or realistic. These types of wars only create more extremism. So it's silly to talk about defeating Hamas as something that exists in the real world. An argument I think he is less open to would be that when both sides are genocidal and terroristic, that solutions have to be imposed from the outside world
