Good question. From many reviews of different Chromebooks, I have learned that the cameras are not great. Take, for example, the Acer Spin 713. A poor camera, but everything else in that Chromebook is very good. The 1080p Google Pixel Go has a 1080p webcam and it makes a difference. Perhaps, with Apple, Apple software may compensate somehow for the 720p camera but I don't know why Apple still uses a 720p camera.
I can tell you why I got it: my Samsung 3 was big enough to let me play around with LInux, but I kept running up against its limitations, so I started looking for a Linux laptop, but they were all out of my price range. I was looking at getting a Windows laptop to install Linux on, but I kept looking at those tiny ctrl and alt keys on Windows keyboards and it just seemed like a new Chromebook was the best solution.
Honest review. Not everyone has to love it. I was really undecided between this and the pixel slate. I needed something to learn python. I didn't really want to spend the money on a Mac, and windows is for boomers. The added benefit of running free linux apps helps with any price issue as well. I'm torn between the slate and this, because this has an incredible keyboard experience. The slate has an incredible screen, and is better suited to use android apps. Either way, its nice to have something like a Chromebook that just works. You need more functionality, then blindly stumble around the command line until you find a good guide on how to use sudo apt-get install _____
For whom? Well, I bought one because I like the way it feels. I've used Chromebooks since they were introduced, and my other one right now is a Lenovo Duet. I would suggest that the tablet mode on Chromebooks works very well now.
So basically chrome os is by far the best operating system for 95% of people that use laptops (doesnt slow down, no viruses, no need for huge hard drives). Give it 5-10 years and Google will dominate the op systems market.
I got the i7 4k model this week. I got the i7 for the power for linux. It's awesome...and watching your video right now in 4k looks beautiful.
I've been on ChromeOS as my daily for 2+ years now and wouldn't go back.
It's nice to see you upload again. You make quality video reviews. Looking forward to more uploads. Cheers!
All of my reviews have been posted to the Phandroid channel lately. Experimenting with bringing them back here.
The dismissal of the 1080p webcam as a standard is weird, given that even the $2K MacBook Pro still have a 720p sensor. What's up with that?

@@smr32061 The Go has a notably better quality camera, so the omission is quite exceptional.
HOLD ALT AND PRESS THE CIRCLE BUTTON FOR CAPS LOCK (as demonstrated here)

You can program the search key back to a "caps locks" key and the backspace is a delete key.

Having used a Chromebook the Pixelbook Go looks like it could be my daily driver.

Since when is a 1080p webcam standard? Most Laptops still have 720p ones.
Get the HP X360, similar specs. Can get it for $429 at BB with Amazon pricematch

Could you tell me what the clear pixel case you have in the video please? Thanks
What is your experience regarding Microsoft office on Chrome OS?
Hello, is that good for online classes and online job? Thank you
Yeah for that money you can go with Windows or Mac os, Chrome has a long way to go to compete with those 2
I'm worried about the smudges. Are they hard to get rid of? Even the trackpad has it
get a Dbrand skin it will protect it from scatches and grease prints.

@@fightnight14 Keyboard is all about the owner keeping it clean I always keep a microfiber cloth with me to wipe down greasy prints and such.
Hi! Nice review, not a native, but shouldn't it be "..., but for whom?"
