I recently got back from a deployment with a big carrier. Managers told me exactly what was said about NY. They need people with this license.
Thanks for taking the time doing these videos. I really appreciate it.
My pleasure.
Hey Matt, i appreciate all the time and effort you have put into these videos. I have been watching your videos these past couple days and hoping to get my home state license asap. Do you have any advice on speeding up the learning process?
For your license, I would suggest adjustertv.com/adjusterpro You'll probably need to do some kind of pre-licensing or pre-exam stuff before you can apply for your license and it might take a little bit of time. Definitely look into getting your feet wet with Xactimate via trainwatermark.com or bit.ly/2SnNFbk
Just curious as to what your take is on inland marine claims. As stated previously, My wife and I have been doing inland marine surveys/inspections for the last year and are looking to make that our niche!
Matt!! Great Video here thank you. What are your thoughts on the Pennsylvania automobile physical damage appraiser’s license? Do you see any value in it ? .... I appreciate your advice.
Hey Henry! Sorry for the late reply, but I think that if you're wanting to get started with auto work, that you'll need a license for sure. I would reach out to Chris Stanley at iapath.com for specifics on state licenses. He's the auto guru!
if you get your texas one most states will accept it for a deployment and have a temporary license most state's beside dc and new yor
My company had us get OK license first as it reciprocates to most states without additional testing!
Excellent!
I have 17 adjuster licenses including New York both field and desk experience and still have a hard time finding work. Things are changing in the claims adjuster world.
It's never been an easy job to get work in, but things are evolving and it's hard to say what the landscape will look like in 2-4 years. Or 10 years. We have to be adaptable - it's always going to be a "people" job.
Well, that's not very encouraging for new adjusters!
@@jc961 It may not be but its definitely real, my truth and several others that I know. I'm not suggesting to anyone not to pursue being an adjuster. I am suggesting that you pursue this with open eyes so you will know what to expect.
@@cherandaj I appreciate the advice and honesty. My wife and I have been doing inland marine surveys/inspections for the last year and one of our insurance clients suggested we get our Adjusters license so we could get work from some of their other departments.
@@AdjusterTV I just read an article yesterday, I believe it was on Claimspages or something like that, that a lot of insurance companies are now looking for people without insurance experience, but experience in other areas such as IT/Technology, Freight movement and processes/Logistics, public safety and customer service etc. From my research there are so many areas that a claims adjuster can work other than just P&C or catastrophe. My wife and I have done a lot of work in the inland marine/freight area even though we are just now getting our Adjusters license. Together we have a combined 40+ yrs of freight/trucking experience so we are actually building on that. What are your thoughts?
How much do adjusters make doing “drive in” auto hail claims after a fairly large hail storm?
Not sure on the exact numbers, but auto generally earns less than property in most situations.
I want to know my home state is California. Do I still need to get all the first five states he suggested or get the free states to build up cash then go for the independent non reciprocal states
You want to have the most possible options for work so no matter where a person lives, I'm going to recommend those first five - and then try to get most all the rest.
How can I get a cali license, I live here and I have no experience and they want me to get any adjuster license outside california then you can wave the experience requirement, kindly assist me how can I get other state license even my state offer a license but with restriction istuck in the middle
I have it on good authority that CA considers a VERY wide range of experience as valid for claims - customer service, any construction, etc.
Is it true the Texas license is honored in other states?
No. The way it works is that for states that require a license and as part of getting that license, you need to take an exam.... if you have a Texas license, they will count that as having taken their licensing exam.
www.adjustertv.com/posts/adjusterprointerview should give you a better understanding of how licensing works. It's a little bit confusing.
@@AdjusterTV Thank you
Is it hard to get a New York license
It is more challenging than normal, but I wouldn't say it's necessarily "hard."
@@AdjusterTV last question what is different on the New York license compared to a Texas and is a separate test.
NACA- National association of Catastrophe Adjusters. Correct?
Yes, that's correct nacatadj.org
I don't understand why, if I have a Florida adjusters license, I would need a Texas license? Aren't they reciprocal?
They are reciprocal but you still have to pay the fee to Texas to be legally licensed in Texas to handle Texas claims it just means you don’t have to take the Texas class all over again
Yes, to add to what Motorrading Around said: Reciprocity only means that other states recognize the test, fingerprints, etc., that you did for Florida and those are waived when you apply for another state's license.
@AdjusterTV Hello, I have my DHS from Texas. I am trying to apply for other state licenses on Sircon but I am confused by the questions. Should I select applying for a new license or other licenses
I have 26 licenses and they give me 0 work since I don’t have adjusting experience even though I have residential and commercial building experience go figure.....help Matt 😂
How many rosters are you on?
Currently 5-6 but they want experience unless major storm then you can be deployed they want a manager on site incase you have questions for them to answer even though it could be just as easy to call someone in an office to get same answer 🤦♂️🤷♂️
What is your residential/home State?
Cali Girl: florida
Motorrading Around
Are you licensed in California?
