I was upset that the Washington Redskins were renamed. Jim Thorpe put that team on the map. Every time I watch Washington play it reminded me of the Native Americans in our country. Instead of the rename, they should have had a requirement to have Native American activities pre game (like Calla Smith signing) and something at half time to educate.

ok the singing is beautoiful because the sister is God-gifted but its a little weird to hear the folks who were robbed, beaten and tricked out of their land to be singing the "national anthem" of the country that tried to genocide them. I feel conflicted about this as a Black man; we must honour the land of our birth because our Ancestors-and more of hers than mine-are in the gtound here but to sing the anthem that crowns the poison cake of ones own destruction feels weird. I guess there are many ways to feel like a U.S. American but this still feels strange.
