One needn't be loud to stand up for oneself. Anger and aggressiveness are EGO-DRIVEN behaviors. If a person who is in touch with their ONENESS with SOURCE and all on Earth, they are able to stand up for themselves in a peaceful, loving manner.
Personal integrity and personal space need not be loud and aggressive. Truth need not be shouted.

Even his story benefited those who knew of him . Witness yourself and i". He was not a nobody who lived invisibly, set no example, benefited no one, and died.

I have always subscribed to the philosophy of invisibility and I agree with the reasons you have provided. I think it began with not wanting to play the games that others play and finding that attention seeking people were pretentious. Initially I was ostracized by others and felt hurt and excluded. Growing up with low self esteem prevented me from taking the center stage or feeling self important and worthy of people's attention. After spending so much time alone and watching others rise and fall, I realized just how lucky I was to be unnoticed. I wanted the superpower of invisibility. I began to make sure that I looked ordinary and avoided the limelight. In doing so, I managed to avoid negative attention or be bullied or suspect. I think the biggest challenge to living this lifestyle was to find a way to become financially independent. Once you are no longer reliant upon others financially and for approval and attention, you can truly be free and do almost anything you want virtually unnoticed.

This is the greatest part about getting older. I found when I was a younger woman, there was more judgement when out in public. If someone thought you were attractive, they'd stare at you or approach you. If someone thought you were unattractive or they were intimidated by you, they'd snicker to their friends or give you sour looks. It was hard to escape constant judgement based solely on appearances.
I'm in my late 40s now and get way less attention. If I smile or am kind to someone, there's no weird assumptions of me flirting or anything like that.

I find that being invisible gives me more control. When others speak and direct attention, it invites people to chatter about them when they are not there. Being in the sidelines and invisible doesn't give other people opportunities to speak about you or on you. It's only your actions that you allow to speak for you. Plus, if you have a special someone, you only want to be 'visible' to them. Visibility then becomes a concept of love, loyalty, vulnerability and most importantly trust. Great video!

@chiefchiefstress Where is the judging? In my comment, I said the words 'to me', and 'I agree'. My comment is about me, my experience, and my own opinion. It's not a statement of what should be, it's not saying anyone thinking or acting differently is wrong. Honestly, it's not introverts who judge in any case, it's usually extroverts who do that. They judge introverts all the time, always asking if we're okay if we're quiet or want to be alone. They assume we're depressed or that there's something wrong with us. I get that often. But no, as for my comment above, and the two others who replied to me, there's no judging. I don't get why you commented with what you did.

For some time in the past years, I somehow lost myself in showing off and trying to be special while being creative, until people recognized me and I hated it so much. I value privacy a lot, so I went back to be nobody, not looking for attention from strangers, not showing my face or name online. And I feel so much happier and authentic. Most people don't need to know who you are. It's enough if your loved ones know and rather spend your time and focus on them and yourself, not on some shallow strangers. This is a path I've wanted and people who are engrossed in vain will regularly try to convince us that living OUR lifestyle is "wrong", "lesser". They cannot fathom not throwing themselves into the risky lifestyle of surrendering yourself to other people, destroying parts of oneself as some kind of sick sacrifice to gain validation. Because, they get that validation. But they don't know what happens when they begin to step out of line, that they're essentially surrundering their control to complete strangers who will determine whether they are to be considered Acceptable or Not.

Being someone to look up to. I am a complete version of apathy and indifference. I dont wish ill on anyone. I wish all to succeed. But not being liked is the same as the sky being blue to me now. It is what it is. Doesnt matter at the end of the day. You dont need anyone to reaffirm your existence. You exist and therefore you matter. Your presence brings something no one to elses can. Also, as long as you dont care about anything, you are truly free to be yourself. Genuine. No fake shit. No facade. No mask. And that in itself is a priceless feeling. It's an enormously liberating thing when you realise this. This mindset helps with street photography for me because when you destroy the ego, you're just like everyone else and you can blend in and get some great photos. 📸📸📸

One thing that helps maintain this discipline; keep your work life and personal life very separate, don't make friends or date at work.
Especially those of us who are unusual because of autism and/or lifestyle.
That, and give up on social media. Been off since 2016, it's sooooo worth it.

I worked with someone that I felt shared too much of their business. And felt she had to tell other coworkers that I was too quiet. I was friendly and shared what I wanted. Felt like I was going crazy working there just toxic, people crying every other week. I wanted to stay in the zone that I was only there to get a pay check. I have no regrets that I was a chatter head and didn't trust no one.

Even though I showed my face (people say it helps with the views when you put a human face on the thumbnail), I purposefully decided to start a channel in English so in case it blows up I don’t have a heart attack because it’s becoming “famous”. I make sure NO ONE who knows me in real life is aware of this channel so chances to be disclosed in my country are near 0. Only now do I realize the advantage of knowing a foreign language 😂 Otherwise I wouldn’t be able to talk publicly about what I really want to talk about. Btw your channel is one of my favorites and was a great motivation to start recording my own videos.

Many decades ago when I was trying to start a band I got talking to a guy that kept telling me to avoid being being famous. He said a *"nobody"* lives forever. He then gave me a list of all the well known people in history including people like *"Jesus Christ, Muhammed Ali and John Lennon"* etc. He said that all these people that we thought were great *Stars* eventually die.
All the people we think of as *"Stars"* eventually fall out of the Heavens ( just like in the book of Revelations) I quote *"Then the stars of the sky fell to the earth like green figs falling from a tree shaken by a strong wind."* When we think of people in the limelight we kind of imagine they will live forever and yet when they die the whole world gets to realize that they were never imortal.
I am not religious btw just an observer.

      There's difference.
These people are born in life with a mission.
You can't prevent purposeful people to change history and leave legacy after they're gone.
It's just different characteristic and mindset.

Thank you for elucidating so eloquently what I've felt for so long. Something that's caused so much conflict, and yet, I keep choosing invisibility everytime. Instinctively, I guess, making sense to me in the way you describe. Painfully though, it takes a long long time for people to see and appreciate; when trying to make and deepen friendships, finding and being a partner in a serious relationship...

When I was younger, I always look for recognition from others... I dont want to trauma dump but I figured the reason why I acted that way is because I always look for my parents recognition growing up. I received significant recognitions lately (from my company and school) and nobody knows about it 😂😂😂 I decided to stay lowkey because I dont want people expect too much from me... its exhausting really

This is a power I've grown to love last year. I use to hate feeling invisible and feeling like so many didn't give a damn about me, my work, nor what I've done... but thanks to a few of my friends, some artists I admire, and the movie known as The Menu, I've grown to just appreciate just being here and doing what I love (and even gotten some closure for the artsy side of me). Bless you for making this video and spreading this message. A lot of people out there should definitely hear it.

I started meditating a lot, and trying to achieve the Buddhist sense of non self. I’m currently overcoming my insecurities, rejecting the need for validation, and it is absolute bliss. It’s still a work in progress, I’m not sure it’s possible to achieve true contentment as I reside in a physical body and brain. But I’d recommend this path to anyone struggling with a dependence on validation. The validation is like drinking saltwater to try to cure your thirst. It will just intensify it and will drive you mad in the end. Seek peace from within, not from outside. It’s the only path.

One of the most charming qualities of living in gratitude is, aside from accepting everything life throws at you as a gift; is that your actions will, for the most part, will go unnoticed.
Thus a grateful person embraces an anonymous existence; graciously. Incognito.

I am a video game developer (Level Designer) with more than 20 years of experience and throughout my career of several released titles, there have been literally millions of people who've played my work, have experienced the gameplay scenarios and locations that I designed for them to play...and they don't know who I am. It also happened on one occasion in Hamburg when I was wearing a shirt that had the logo of the game company I was working for at the time, and I was mobbed by a dozen kids and teenagers who had a million questions about the next game we were making.
    I love being invisible.

Fame has always seemed like it would be terrible to me. While I hope my words affect others or inspires a change, I find myself only really able to have awareness of that by not being subject to attention for the act. It seems inauthentic, I question my own and others motives when seeking fame or recognition of a good deed. One loses sight of the inner self when the focus, the desire is attention and approal from others. I was never content when I did this, never will be... that is what being able to with self has shown me.

These comments are really helping me, nobody going nowhere. My invisibility can feel like a super power. Yet naturally non-conforming, I long for the deepest of connections and authenticity. I do acknowledge the guides, elementals, angels, and ancestors always reside near. I try to remember that human connection is always possible, yes, to be seen. That, I cannot control, but I can enjoy seeing. This channel has been a balm. Thank you
