    On Guam, radio is life. I swapped back to the metal antenna today. All my stations work again. The stubby killed 90 percent of my radio.

      Power 98! Man that brings back memories. Guam born & raised, moved to Texas 18 years ago and the radio stations here just aren’t the same. Back in my day it was Power 98, Hit Radio 100, and 94 Jamz.

    This is why I like your channel, you give honest and truthful reviews of how your mods work. Both pros and cons with a reasoned explanation of what you found. Keep up the great work.

    Was thinking about doing this mod to my 3 day old Gladiator but now I have seen you video.. it is a no go, of course I have SiriusXM now but next year I will be using the radio and hate the thought of losing stations or gaining static.. thanks brother great video!!

    I took an angle grinder with cutting wheel and cut it in half. Covered the remaining antenna with heat shrink tube and capped it with a small rubber nipple from lowes. Reception is great. Now that's a cheap A$$.

      Lmao that's overkill! Could've just used snips

    Have not gotten a stubby antenna for my Wrangler/Gladiator. But I do need a different solution to the stock one because it hits the a-pillar bracket and attached lights. I have it zip-tied to the bracket at the moment.

    For those who don't like the look of the stainless steel OEM arial, cover it with two layers of shrink tube.

    We're in the mtns of north Georgia with many radio stations being somewhat weak to begin with so your video has convinced me this would not be the way to go for me, thanks.

    Had a stubby on a prior vehicle in Alaska.. I don't think I would do it out here in Guam. Thanks for testing it out for us!

    I tried a stubby antenna as well, but it was 13”. I lost a lot of my radio channels and decided to return it. I’ve also found my stock antenna helps when going into underground parking lots to make sure I don’t hit the top of my roof.

    When I bought my jeep someone had a stubby I immediately ordered a standard factory antenna and it looks great! I couldn't be more happy with my purchase. Save your money on those stubby antenna. Everyone wants to look Joe cool I guess?

  • @SteveSRT
    @SteveSRT Před 3 lety +2

    I'm actually surprised that stubby did as well as it did. I don't understand why people are so into them too. I'll be keeping my big antenna.

    I also don't understand why people decrease the gain of the antenna. I saw one review where the guy was so happy his satelite radio service still work not realizing it uses a completely different antenna. Thanks for the video and hoping I win the Daystar leveling kit. :)
