I remember the scandal with forced sterilisation of "undesirables". That ended when I was a child but the suffering of the victims continued.
The only difference is that this movement has a lot more self-deletions, and people who would deny the deletions were caused by the "care" they received.

A doctor's liability insurance will be the first to buckle as no doctor will practice without it. We are not optimistic as worldwide there are more dictators emerging and it will bite those who are initially for it. Everything is extreme as the folks who donate to political campaigns can shame politicians quickly with social media if they moderate out.
Australia had a system where the courts got involved to make sure it was in the interest of the adolescent. Many would say that it's never in anyone's interest to transition but throwing term around like "mutilation" and "gender confused"; that's why we discourage discourse. One does not want to debate their civil rights because there's no advantage for the one being challenged. If they win, they hold onto them but if they lose, their out. There's fewer win-win situations in politics today and it causes escalation and instability.
If un-affirmed suicide is such a risk for the huge numbers of young gender dysphoric, then where are the heaps of dead by their own hand kids throughout history before this 'care' was a reality? They aren't there, because the overwhelming majority of those kids went on to figure out the confusion of puberty, like most others do, or they ended up being standard 'gay', without the lifelong dependence on expensive and dangerous exotic drugs and medical procedures or risk of sterility.

It's been a mad old decade, with people calling me a bigot for being against the sterilization, medicalization and plastic surgery performed on children and young people, many of whom are autistic or gay, and refusing to believe in a neo-religious gender soul. Spiked has helped me feel less alone.

Unfortunately while the review part of the Cass Review reveals what same people would rightly recognise as horrors, Cass herself has suggested a new MO for continuing to experiment on the very youngest victims , including with the use of " puberty blockers ". This isn't the end. It is meant to be the end of concerns . To admit the facts, then demonstrate that they won't stop the continuing project. Of course we need to stop that.
My heart breaks for the kids damaged by this horror show.

8:15 - The horrible thing about this stat, is that it's not a new one. Kenneth Zucker, a child psychologist who ran Canada's largest child gender health clinic for 30 years, said something very similar - that in cases where kids who experienced gender dysphoria/incongruence but were NOT put on blockers or hormones, 90% of them grew out of those feelings by adulthood, and 80% of them turned out to be gay. Kenneth Zucker lost his job after being campaigned against by trans activists because his stats were troublesome to them.
While Zucker can definitely be criticised for his apparently unsympathetic approach to people claiming they were suffering from gender dysphoria, I expect the 90% of patients he had that grew into healthy, medically-unaffected adults are grateful for his care in retrospect.
SNP and Scotish Greens are taking on this battle, it won't end well for them at the ballat box.

If well over 10 professionals left the Tavistock for moral reasons, there was/is clearly an issue. One or two might be a personality clash but the number that left was clearly a shout "there is something very wrong here" and im someone that supports trans sexuals but not trans genders or self ID. Self ID is the most stupid thing in health care since labotomies nor do i think i child can understand the gravity of a sex change operation.

The Cass report has only been mentioned once in the New Zealand media. That article was however, just a media hit job designed to rubbish it.
Certainly nothing much has come out in the mainstream media in NZ, which is a shambles at the best of times.
Lots of talk with regard to the long awaited Cass Report. The only absolute deterrent to trans ideology/indoctrination is the REPEALING of the 2004 Gender Recognition Act. Following the reactions to the report from various media outputs I am yet to hear a mention of the 2004 GRA.

I doubt many of them have the courage to admit they were wrong. They will simply become irrelevant, drowned out by a sea of snark any time they dare speak.
Today it's not lack of courage it's that many of the last 2 generations were raised told they could do no wrong believed it and as adults, arrogantly so. Actually admitting one is wrong today is one of those things some just can't say even when they know it. They're not equipped to cope so act like the children they still mentally are.

But authorities who didn't have evidence to fight them with before as it was never felt necessary now do so they can push these ideologists out if they refuse to listen. Most countries do have regulation and do enforce the laws they have and contrary to what some think, those are not on the side of activists. Sadly the US is always a bit behind in that respect so will have a bigger fight on its hands but society as a whole is how we change things and activists were always a minority.

this whole thing is just too horrible, I feel so sad for the children who have been through this :( I used to wonder about myself when I was the only girl in primary school who liked maths, but grew out of it, my heart goes out to children who have been let down by their government (allowing this), education (teaching gender ideology), medical services who have done this and parents who encouraged it. Good to see common sense is starting to become common again.
I am glad to hear that the pharmaceutical and surgical treatments for gender dysphoria in children and young adults have been halted for the time being, but this ideology isn't going to go away anytime soon. The proverbial cat has been let out of the bag, as it were, and putting it back in the bag will be very difficult. As someone who suffered from gender dysphoria in the early 1980s I was given counselling and shown a great deal of care so that I could learn to understand that these thoughts had manifested because of childhood trauma. I am so glad that this kind of thinking was how we dealt with such afflictions back then because as an adult I am proud of who I am and the traits and personality that I was born with. Being true to yourself is about accepting what is undeniably the truth and not being swayed by others to deny what the universe has given you.
I think we may see change. For decades we slowly and surely gave in to individual whims in the hope of pleasing everyone. But we all need to be told no and many in authority forgot that. It started with millenials now entrenched in many areas but the majority always disagreed with far left ideology. If people speak up refusing to accept their views are not valid, as the majority we'll see that change. I've already noticed most in the youngest generation old enough to have opinions on this stuff have almost violently moved in the opposite direction. Millenials are the main offenders but there's enough of the rest of us to shut down those who won't listen. Facts are on our side.

A few generations of otherwise reasonable people have grown up with an exaggerated fear of being called a few nasty names (X-ist, Y-phobe, etc.), and too little will to defend themselves against (or just laugh off) bullshit accusations. But I think maybe this is changing. I even know some college kids who are sick of it.
How do we stop things like this from happening again? Stand up and say your peace, everyone, calmly and politely, but forcefully, about any and every issue. No more being intimidated into silence or faux agreement. We'll all be better off.

I've got a 10 year old and 17 year old kid and the difference in the number of kids in their respective classes at school claiming to have gender or sexuality "issues" is unbelievable. 1 out of 32 kids in the 17 year olds class and 8 out of 29 in the 10 year olds.

I don't know a lot about this topic but i have seen people talking about the interview of Dr. Cass's team by The Kite Trust. it seems like they are walking back a lot of their recommendations.

It's going to need more than the Cass Review.
Gender ideology has been deeply embedded in our institutions. People have been kept quiet for fear of losing their livlihoods. Speaking up is met with a barrage of abuse. We have a long way to go.

Talking about what? The Cass review, or the horrific and dangerous ideology it's comprehensively put the lie to?
There are patently absurd claims in the Cass review, which were used to push a narrative.
For example, a major criticism in the Cass review is that current research for trans people is not "double-blind," and therefore insubstantial.
This is despite the fact that Cass has corroborated the consensus on this;
"double-blind studies have no place in trans healthcare." (Paraphrasing)
Not only are they unethical, they're not feasible.
This isn't a unique case either, there are plenty of research fields where double-blind studies are not an option. In addition to this, the review also cites known debunked theories, like "social contagion."
The review was used to deny trans kids puberty blockers, but cis children can still access them, so it's not like they think the drug is the problem. It seems fairly clear to me that they think trans kids are the problem. Still not dubious? Let's move on to Cass herself.
She is not qualified; she's not a specialist in the field. Saying a pediatrician is necessarily informed on gender care is like saying a dentist must be an oral surgeon. There's some overlap if you're working with heuristics, but that's it.
That's a generous analogy, though. Dentists have more in common with oral surgeons than pediatricians do with gender care specialists.
Cass' intentions are questionable and confusing, if not malicious. This is plainly shown in her inconsistent positions on double-blind studies for trans research, among other things.
As for the review itself, there are numerous people with more experience (authority) and with higher quality research. People and organizations with research that wasn't independently funded by a government agency. In this context, the same government agency which directly supported the outcome that the Cass review came to.
Confirmation bias and conflicts of interest were vital components of this "review."
There are claims in it that are known to be nonsense from yesteryear. There are blatant contradictions which were left in the final product.
Why are those things in it? Because it ultimately didn't matter. There will be enough individuals who will say "This medical agency said trans people bad, I WIN!!" Exactly as we're seeing in the comments.
No matter how awful the science is, enough people will agree with the conclusion it draws.
It doesn't matter that the review is factually inaccurate, it did what it was supposed to.
Applying this to some more general stuff, everyone should understand that reviews are not supposed to be the foundation for your beliefs in basically any conversation about research.
You're supposed to read the studies they cite, and then supplement with the review itself, because a review is almost always a tertiary source. If you do not understand the studies, the review is just spoon-feeding you.
If anyone bothered to look, the Cass review cites anti-gay rhetoric from the 60s within its' sources.
Citing 65+ year old research is dubious in the first place, but specifically anti-gay rhetoric? When accounting for all of this, there isn't a defensible position for the validity of this review, prejudice is quite literally in the foundation.
It seems to me that when anyone takes the Cass Review at face value, it's because it confirms what they wanted to believe, or because they read the headlines instead of the content.
(If that's the case just say so man, it's 300+ pages of schlock. There's no shame in skipping out, just stop pretending to have an informed opinion on the topic.)
Let's take inventory.
The Cass review:
- Stands firmly opposed to scientific consensus
- uses fearmongering tactics
- uses outdated and debunked anti-trans theories
- was funded by a government agency that wants trans people gone
- Single-handedly provided the justification for the puberty-blocker ban, with next to no external consultation, and an uproar of substantiated opposition, which went ignored.
- Banned puberty blockers only for trans kids.
It does not get more clear cut than that, this is an authoritarian decree, not scientific research.
Cass herself is starting to look adjacent to Andrew Wakefield, and that's scary. Everyone should be apprehensive of that. If anyone can show me how the Cass review is actually a good faith review of science thus far, go ahead. I think it's pretty obvious that it isn't though. Just another tool for hasty control.

I'm glad the Trans Agenda has been exposed. As a former lesbian who had mild gender dysphoria, I would have been top of the list for gender reassignment.
I looked at doctors that done sex changes as Doctor Frankenstein, they never knew what the outcome would be, and from different things I seen if someone wants to do a sex change, we need to have age limits, and mental evaluations before anything can be started, just because you can do something doesn't mean it should be done, sometimes there's more harm done than good

All the gender clinics refer to the WPATH Standards of Care, but leaked conversations show they know their charges can't even give informed consent (the kids don't understand the science, and neither do their parents), while all comorbidities are ignored in order to push the transition medication. The weird paraphilic history of WPATH would make a great third leg of the stool to kick from under the cultists.
It will be ignored by schools its si ingrained most schools are hand in hand with stonewall, i know this as a school caretaker for many years. Most if not all teachers are left wing, children are expected to know there pronouns by the age off 11 it starts in junior schools.
Since the new guidelines in that area were also released, they've left no wriggle room and parents just need to keep themselves informed because they now have all the power if they choose to use it against activist teachers. It must be said that puberty blockers have been used for a long time to treat precious puberty - or puberty that starts way too soon (like the age of six).
I'm not sure Angelina Jolie should have been included in that short clip of celebrities who have endorsed the gender cult. Her daughter Shilo was allowed to go through puberty with no interference from quacks in the gender trade. She turned out just fine.
