Tears are streaming down my face ;__; this hit really close to home for me.
Absolutely brilliant. There are so many layers to this. Thank you for sharing your story--beautiful poem, a wonderful dedication to immigrant parents from the diaspora. "The Bridge" is also a very fitting title.
YES
Damn I hated this, just because it hit too close to home and rang too true. I feel this too much. Beautiful words, great poem.
Holy damn. Precise, to the point and beautiful. Sad story, but so beautifully worded.
HOLY-- this is too true. I'm the grandchild of immigrant Japanese and am not fluent. It's always been a regret of mine growing up with classmates that spoke English & Spanish at home. They never passed it down to my mother either. On top of that I'm hafuu and always felt I wasn't Japanese enough to other Asians. That's sad because my dad never passed Native American heritage down to me, so all I know and identify with is my Japanese half.
this is too real !! amazing
Exactly how I feel as first generation!! Thank you!
another heartfelt poem George.
Well that went scarily deep pretty fast. Love it.
Still honored I got to meet you in Denver. You are very memorable and your ability to preform and present your words like children and movements like the pride of their work
such a great, moving piece. beautifully worded and to the point
How's this not viral yet?
