  • Continuing my Portland Adventures miniseries, Part 2 resumes on April 18, 2024, with me along the Springwater Corridor Trail near the Johnson Creek Max Station, picking up where I left off at Mile 7,782.
Venturing a mile further, I pause to smoke by the Johnson Creek and stumble upon an unmarked waterfall, a serene moment amidst nature's beauty.
Navigating the corridor's twists and turns alongside the creek, I encounter classic cars and local wildlife with the majestic Mount Hood looming in the distance as I approach Powell Butte.
Once I reach the park, I opt for the easier perimeter trail instead of the climb up. But soon after, I feel compelled to turn back to the ascending trail.
On the new path, a magical encounter awaits - one of them #HumansWithWings, a bicyclist, points out a barn owl, allowing me to share the enchantment with other hikers who cross my path.
Reaching the summit rewards me with a stunning vista of Mount Saint Helens.
Deciding to head back to my friend’s apartment via bus, I eagerly anticipate returning in the next few days to continue the adventure.
I conclude this episode at Mile 7,792 with the usual invitation to come walk a mile with me and experience the magic.
Stay tuned after the credits for a preview clip featuring some beautiful horses encountered in Part 3.
