- Ever since we saw the "Light Up The Sky" documentary on Netflix we wanted to see this because we knew they were getting ready to take the stage at Coachella. It's really cool to finally get to see this.

In "Light Up The Sky" they mentioned being worried about Jisoo, and there are some video clips of the members gathering around her after the show to give her hugs for coming through like she did. They also talked about how surprised they were at the size of the crowd (Jennie hoped there'd be at least a hundred people) and that they were doing the choreo and singing along in Korean. It was when they first realized how wide their reach was. It's fascinating because you rarely get to see such a definitive turning point in a groups career.
Amazing that Jisoo pushed through like she did. They showed no nerves at all in this, but before they hit the stage you could see it a little. Excellent job of focusing and just getting the job done like professionals.
Yes jisoo had incredible back pain and was the sickest she'd ever been. I saw videos of her after literally being held up and comforted by her members. But everything ahe does for Blinks she cannot possibly commit less than 1000 percent to us so you can't even tell, not one grimace or upsetting expression. These girls are ace professionals and I am so proud of how their reach is finally growing. Thank you for showing out Queens so much love and joining our Blink family, we deeply appreciate you ❤

I always point out that there's a difference between being able to sing and being able to perform. BP are performers, and, once they hit the stage and saw the crowd and how they were into it, they relaxed and started to have fun - you can see them smiling at each other a couple of times. It makes a difference in how the crowd perceives the performance as well, because they can feel whether an artist/group is really into it or not.

The "glitch" footage is from week 2. They performed both weekends of the festival. I love the "rock-ified" version of 4D.

Its crazy how well they did that initial performance at Coachella when basically they were brand new to North America. They absolutely killed it. Then 4 years later, they headline and absolutly ruled Coachella. Love the story. These girls are amazing.

They stepped up and overcame their obstacles, fears, doubts, etc. Championship performance.
Great reaction. Yes, Jisoo was in terrible pain all throughout the performance. Before the concert she was offered the choice of performing while sitting on the side of the stage. She turned that down, of course. Jisoo is very self-sacrificing for the good of the group, talks about everyone needs to know their place, and has never complained that she has the least face time and least minutes in just about every Blackpink music video. In the early years she was practically ignored at all Blackpink fan events, where all the focus was on Jennie and Lisa. There is a clip of her at the time where she said as long as she had one fan than that would be enough. She never pushed for her own solo project, while the other 3 pushed very hard. She was fine being the last one with a solo project, which became the best selling album in history by a solo female Kpop idol. And it seemed more of a responsibility to be fulfilled for her fans than a personal pursuit as it was with the other members. Her first passion was acting, and it seems that is really her true calling. While being in the Acting program at her High School she was advised to start auditioning to get experience in the auditioning process. Her first audition was with YG, that immediately offered her a position in their training program despite not having a singing or dancing pedigree. And she didn't have another audition. So being a Kpop superstar is just another acting gig that pays pretty well. Just FYI, while in the trainee program before debuting, while attending a concert a talent scout from SME spotted her and approached her. After talking to her for a few minutes, not knowing that she was a YG trainee, they offered her the opportunity to join SME's trainee program. SME was the biggest Kpop agency at that time, much larger than YG. Getting a spot on the SME or YG trainee program is like getting drafted in the first round of NBA draft, nearly impossible to do. Lisa auditioned with 4,000 talented Thai teens, and was the only one selected. Jisoo was just destined to be a Kpop and Kdrama star.
It's impossible not to like and admire her.

Info : between the two coachella Gigs BP had to hold a Concert ( Hamilton ?) Where Ji-Soo Was still sick. She excused herself to Blink's on stage for not being abel to give 100% . The whole audience chanted to her to get well.

Great Reaction CoachCastTV! Great catch on the different outfits and that was what they wore the second week! Jennie wore a tassel skirt and Lisa wore black shorts and knee high boots! The editors like to throw Easter eggs or clues in BlackPink M/V’s! I actually have the second performance and the sound is more crisper and louder!
Once they all got the feel of the new surroundings they blew the lid off of Coachella!

Technically Blackpink have performed four times at Coachella (the annual music festival put on in your honour) as the festival runs for two weeks. I had not spotted the glitch before. This was around the time Jenny became my bias and I'm not afraid to admit her outfit probably started dragging my eye in that direction.

This is when I knew they were special and different. Imagine all those years of 24/7 practicing and then walking out in the USA in front of that crowd- most of who didn’t know who they were! They slayed.

Cool to see how popular K-pop (and your channel) is when in 35 mins you have almost 500 views!!!! 👍😊. And if you thought THIS Coachella performance was good, fast forward 4 years to 2023 when they were the MAIN Headliners and 110,000 people!!!! One of the best concerts I have seen (it was live-streamed). YG and Coachella have a few official videos for 2-3 songs but I wish they would release (even sell) the whole show because they were rockstars! …or pop stars?😂

The Band Six is the band that toured with BlackPink. I always thought they did a genius job of adding guitar and drums in a way that makes a noticeable impact without overshadowing the original KPop sound and the members. Seems like some other major groups are starting to perform with live instruments which I like better than a canned audio track.

BLACKPINK was the first kpop act to sing at COACHELLA in 2019 (in that year he participated as a supporting artist) and their performance was so successful in this 2023 BLACKPINK was invited as the main artist at COACHELLA (first kpop act to headline COACHELLA in the whole history) and its 2 presentations in 2023 were so successful that they were watched by 500 million people live on CZcams live, a historical record for the festival.
the best thing is that BLACKPINK will also be the headlining artist in LONDON HYDE PARK music festival 2023 and will also be the first kpop act to headline the festival in all of history.

Finally, there is someone out there realize that they wear different clothes. Yes, they are. As long as I remember, BP perform in two weekends or two Saturday nights in a row. They wear a similar clothes, but generel in black white and silver. You notice Rose's outfit, then you can see Jennie's skirt is different. One is one bodysuit, one with like fringe skirt. It is two video mashed up. 😅

A fave song along with Let's Kill This Love. Let's Kill This Love was covered by Dreamcatcher in Germany. I believe the performance track was prerecorded just for the one song and their own songs were performed live.
Handong from Dreamcatcher featured in the Youth For You Competition in China in 2019 and Lisa was one of the Judges. Lisa asked Handong if they had met as she seemed to recognise her.
The one thing that I don't think that anyone has pointed out yet was that their vocals were live which can't be said about most k-pop groups. The whole performance they had at Coachella in 2019 was amazing. The live band and live vocals is what makes their concerts top notch. What I would like to see is all three generations of YG girl groups in one concert (2NE1, BLACKPINK, and BABYMONSTER) which I would pay a lot just to go and see them. I just hope that BLACKPINK will have at least more concerts in the future so that we are able to go and see them live.

Jisoo is a champ when it comes to fighting through sickness while performing - I saw Blackpink live the first time they were in Chicago and Jisso was sick during that performance as well, but you wouldn’t have been able to tell if they hadn’t said anything. She was great that night just like the rest of the ladies. Jennie also had a little wardrobe malfunction that night too and handled it like a pro as well. They’re all extremely professional.

The glitches in footage must have been some little mistake or issue they were trying to fix. You should react to their Typa girl cochella performance or pretty savage! They remixes all their songs with a live band it’s so well done!

I think they stitched it together, it is definitely possible. they performed two weekends straight at the festival so they most likely merged different footage from both appearances at the festival. crazy, I have watched this performance so many times and have never noticed it!
Good observation. I realized it after seeing it several times and I began to notice Jennie. I think it's just a scene, taken from the back of the stage that belongs to the second performance. (They perform at Coachella 2 weekends in a row.)
About the glitch maybe there was a stage practice before the show , so they could have combined the practice footage and The actual performance ( Rosé in sleeves)

Coachella in 2019 was Blackpink's "Oh, My God they're real." moment. Watched both nights on live streaming they killed it.
They couldn't see the crowd from where they were before going on stage.
Coachella is 2 weekends and they performed on Friday on both. they performed art the LA Forum on the Wednesday in between.
Ariana was the main "Star" that year and nobody remembers!!
The band is Band 6, who is YG's go to tour band. They also were the tour for 2NE1 (the Queens of Kpop) and Big Bang, THE Kpop boy group.
2NE1 were the YG girl group before Blackpink who disbanded in 2016. 2 songs to react to - "I am the Best" and "Fire".

So 4:50 Coachella is usually done on a three-day weekend I’m pretty sure. So, they performed I think it was 2 nights (hence different clothing). Therefore, usually when they edit their Coachella clips or any tour clips or concert etc, they will mesh up multi-vids into ONE that way you can kinda see their whole performances in diff ways in a sense (as you also stated Papa Blink). But yea, that was just a little clip but other times they just stick to one solid video. However, yes you are correct, that was a small clip from another video of the same performance but another Coachella day performance of that weekend

I first discovered Blackpink about a year and a half ago. I had heard they were on the vma awards. So I knew there name. I had listened to very little k pop. I believe I heard 2 songs from bts. So I watched Pink Venom which was on there newest album. And I was hooked lol. I believe I've seen everything. They are just so talented. I'm like coach I was drawn to Rose. Her voice is just amazing. My wife likes Lisa best but we love them all. So I enjoy watching other people discover them so that's how I discovered your channel. You two remind me of my wife and I. I'm 56 and have a wide range of music that I enjoy but since I found Blackpink I can't gut enough. I'm also excited about Babymonster and I like Aespa. I just wanted say thank you for your channel.

good eye Coach...this video your watching was from the Coachella 20 years in the Desert compilation...and they did stitch the week 1 and week 2 performances together...there are videos of the week 1 on its own and the week 2 on its own..both were great performances so didn't mind them stitching it since this was meant to be a compilation of the entirety of Coachella...

Hwasa Ja was prepared to perform "I love my body" and "Chilli", but days before the awards ceremony, a well-known actor in Korea took his own life because of the hate he received. Hwasa already had everything ready but decided to pay tribute to the actor. When you watch LMM's MV you will understand why she chose this song.
