HOW TO TIE A KARATE BELT

In this video we take you through how to tie a karate belt.
Here's 1 popular way to tie your karate belt. We find this to be the easiest way for beginners to learn how to tie a belt. Take your time and practice it. If you need extra help tying your karate belt comment below! Subscribe & Like the vid!
1. Grab your belt and make it even.
2. Take the center of the belt and place it over your abdomen.
3. Wrap around yourself and crisscross them as you pull the tails to the front.
4. With both tails in your hands make an X.
5. Take the top tail of the X and swoop it under the belt that’s against your abdomen. (This keeps the belt together)
6. Check to make sure your tails are even.
7. Grab one tail and fold it over the other to make a circle.
8. Pull the tail through the circle and pull left and right.

I too noticed that, and it makes it harder to follow the steps. If they can't teach how to tie a belt, I doubt very much they can teach a class competently.

Thanks! I needed a refresher because my regular edb (lol like edc edbelt) clasp broke, but it’s the same material as my ole karate belt was, so I needed to tie it lol it’s a little shorter too but it’s working

It’s like learning to tie your shoes, it’ll take practice. Just go slow and have patience when doing it. There are a couple of ways to tie a belt this is just one way. I do have another video showing a different way how to tie a belt.

Wrap it from the back instead of a the front. Some belts are consider a “single tie” instead of a double tie.
