No matter who you think you made that bench for, it’s obvious the cat owns it now. 😂
Luckily for him and the nice lady, the cats are communal lol they can sit on it regardless of which house they reside

Here's a Special Request: Please repurpose an old piece of furniture into a bedside table with a mini-rotating bookcase on top and gooseneck reading lamp and slot for pens and glasses. ⛽ Repurposing furniture is the MOST INTERESTING thing wood workers do! *You could also build a custom cat bed so your cat would be at the same level as your pillow. 😂

BEAUTIFUL WOOD!! Not only as a garden bench, but on a porch, or patio. Or, because the wood is so exquisite , it could even be used indoors in an entryway to use while putting boots on.

When I 1st saw that beautiful slab of live edge spalted lumber I thought "that would make a smashing table top, and 2 refinished chairs with maybe detailing/dark stain added." You think outside the box, and you showed me something unexpected. Your neighbour must be so pleased with her new and very pretty bench.

A beautiful bench and a beautiful model to show it off too 🥰 I've never seen spalted wood before. Isn't it amazing the patterns left behind on wood caused by trauma basically. The spalting being caused by fungus and burled wood also scars from a battle with a viral or fungal infection. And those battles leave the wood all the more beautiful and interesting to look at. I find it fascinating. Great job on this Jay as always. Thanks for sharing.

If only you'd posted this last week we might not have ordered a new bench! Not that we have the tools or skills that you do, but we do have a couple of old chairs and spare wood, and would have a had a crack at making something like this (we don't like to see anything go to waste either, even our offcuts get stored for firewood). Beautiful bench and markings. You were very detailed with every step. I like the jig to drill on a narrow piece of wood. The cat wanted to show her beautiful markings too. I think she will often be on the bench or under it in the shade. She will happily share the bench with any cat person.

What a great way to upcycle two very well used and neglected chairs that would have gone to landfill. The garden bench looks really beautiful and is quite a statement piece for any garden. That bench turned out to be very beautiful. I love the way you include the cat in the videos, and especially how she comes to inspect the progress of whatever your working on, and then when it's finished, she comes back to give it the final check and paw of approval. She really loves hanging out with you in your workshop - everyone should have a shop cat as an assistant.
This transformation is great! We actually have these chairs from Ikea, which come as a set with 4 chairs and a table in our kitchen. We got them 5 years ago for $159. They are solid wood, and are holding up well. If I ever need benches, I’ll know what to do! The spalted wood is exquisite!
