- In this Hermitcraft episode, PearlescentMoon expands the starter base to finally allow for enchanting gear with a table, opens up new business within the post office with added decor, sends out the first stamps for the system to Hermits and delves into some permit swapping!

After watching Grian for season 9, and seeing Doc again now, I've realized that Doc is probably the most likely hermit to just destroy everything for fun

She’s from Victoria, and it does snow there. It snows in parts of ACT and NSW too, possibly other states as well but I’m not as familiar with them.
@@carbonmonoxide5052it does, but not nearly to the extent that a Canadian is used to. The only Australian state that consistently receives snow in winter would be Tasmania

When people look back on season 10, the postal service is going to be one of the biggest part of it. I can't wait to see what people do with it: how many Mumbo stamps Grian buys, who commits mail fraud, and how long it will take for Scar to lose mailbox privileges for sending a weekly Disney Newsletter.
ZombieCleo was joking about mail fraud from the start, but so far *Etho* was the one to send out a "Canadian Prince" scam, and it's only a matter of time before Keralis starts sending out "notices" to people who failed to purchase extended horse warranties.

The shopping district could get a mailbox for vendors that want to provide a delivery service!
There are also many hermits that have split profit deals and that could be a way of sending their funds from the shopping district.
Great idea, but poor Tango and Etho would be stuck building all those extra mailboxes 😂
The shopping district itself could have one, but there currently isn't a way to send more then one shulker at a time, but the system supports a single chest - 1 item worth of space
@@Pickled_Monkey I assume it'd just be one centralized mailbox rather than dozens of individual ones.
It wouldn't really need to receive mail anyway, so a single output is probably enough. Just make one of those mail collection boxes.
Actually, on second thought, if all they only need outgoing mail and no incoming mail, then they could have several collection boxes that funnel into a single portal underneath the shopping district. That's probably the most efficient method.

Doc is such a presence in the server. I haven't seen an episode from him for a week and suddenly he's making a 100 block tall 50 block wide hourglass of blood sweat and tears

The server uses a shared list of whatever is being fished next by anyone. So basically, because of Pearl or Scar getting Mending by fishing, she took it away from Grian who could have fished the same exact book as well 😂

Two aesthetic things:
1. The post box awarness system could use the stamps to let people know whos online at a glance
2. The stamp bundles could be made to look like a letter

Considering that the postal service is made up of Etho (loves his chaos), Tango (likely has been sitting on a backlog of mischief dating back to S9 thanks to Decked Out just itching to be unleashed), and Pearl (self-explanatory), I don’t see that ending well for Grian.
Bundles may not fix the inventory issue, but they sure as heck are useful for multiplayer servers! The card game from last season used them for the card packs, this season Pearl's using them for the stamps, and just in general they would be _great_ for making gift packages and item trading.
hard agree! I used bundles for giving out packages of modded foods (for spice of life carrot edition) to my servermates for a while. they definitely don't fix the vanilla inventory issue, but for gift packs they're excellent.

with how the enchanted book loot works for fishing, any of those 4 could have been grian's. Pearls been catching them all no wonder he didn't get any for so long.
The system to help hermits know whose online and whose not is such a good idea because Etho & Tango can also use it to indicate whose is offline if they need to adjust things or fix redstone.
A maintenance room in back of the lights with buttons on every one would allow Pearl to easily use it that way.
That way any problems through the season she could just unlight the copper lamps. Then Etho, Tango and apparently Scar could fix it. 😂
A good place for another mail box would probably be the shopping district.
Yea, there should be a curbside drop-box type mailbox there. It would reduce the redstone since you wouldn't need an incoming line. I'm sure some shops may get their own too, at least Tango's

I absolutely loved the Doc conversation, we almost never see you two talk and the permit system really helps set up interactions that might never have a reason to happen otherwise :)
Using glow ink on the name of hermits on the postal system will look nice as in the light from copper bulb is seeping through the letters.
I think one of my favorite bits of the permit trading is that they're all offering special deals for the people they trade with, which is just very sweet I love it.
The *Mailman Uniform Skins* for Tango & Etho should be for *their respective countries,* Tango's skin for the USA & Etho for Canada. And give them the version that has short pants as a dig at them.
... Tango living in Arizona most likely has never seen a postal carrier uniform that included long pants. ... but they both would look sharper in long pants... ehh, it is up to the person making them.

You should sell "lost parcel insurance" for if the mail system breaks. If the sender was recording when they tried to send a parcel that never arrives, the post office can replace the lost item - IF they pay for insurance first.

There is a fun fact that tamed cat automatically sit down when its owner offline, so it is possible to make a detector to check whether a player is online by leashing(to avoid it teleport) a player's cat on the chest. if its owner offline, cat sit down on the chest and stop comparator getting signal from the chest.

Hey if the Pearl door becomes a problem, you could always use the redstone contraption Mumbo made a few years back that drops you down, pushes you forward underneath the door, then pops you back up again. You could even have it trigger as soon as a Hermit stands in the right spot, so they get surprised by it XD

Whoever has the permit for shulker shells/boxes should totally make a deal with the post office to sell “mailing supplies” there, imo. People could grab shipping boxes while they grab stamps. 😂

Pearl, might I suggest using the nearby Flower Forest biome to build a farm? There's a neat one I found that generates almost every color dye and almost every flower type all at once (missing only the Blue Orchid, which is native to swamps) which you could set up to gather enough of the flowers and dyes to keep such a store forever in stock. 💐
For the wall of hermits with mailboxes. Instead of putting their name on the side and doubling the size of the wall, you could put their head on the light and make the item frame(if need one) invisible. This way the light is illuminated behind the head, knowing who is who, while conserving on space. Just an idea

I am loving the post office and general interactions amongst all the Hermits!! This is really a wonderful season already and it's still young.

I was thinking that it would be fun to have a stamp vending machine. Something along the lines of the TCG ones from last season. you could even make the bundles look like books of stamps! You have probably already thought of this. =)
I like the status board, it feels like old tech / steampunk in a way. A possibly alternative to the signs could be the stamps to signify the hermit, not sure how good that’d look but it’s an option!

oh my god, hearing Doc talk about the "madison square garden dog show" (aka the westminster kennel club dog show) is giving me flashbacks to six-year-old me, who discovered that you can go backstage at the dog show and pet All The Dogs. Best day of my life.
