  • Do you think mixing sambar with rice will give you Sambar saatham? (Bisibelebath) Bisibelebath is an Udupi style dish
The Key is giving the Aroma, taste, and great mouthfeel when you start eating it. In fact, you’ll need more ingredients when compared to biriyani
How do they make this sambar saatham in restaurants?
Let me teach you. I’m chef sunder, Welcome to Recipecheckr
We can say that this Bisibelebath is the king of variety rice
Because this is unique and served as a special dish in the Udupi region and this gives you the fantastic taste, aroma, and great mouthfeel.
Like I said earlier, mixing sambar with rice will not give you Sambar saatham
It needs more ingredients than the ingredients required for biriyani.
Irrespective of the dishes' complexity, we always try to split up the whole process in stages and explain it to you.
    Sambar saatham has 3 stages.
    Making the Special powder
Preparing the Rice and Dal mix with the right ratio
Combining these two and making Perfect Bisibelebath
Let’s see the ingredients and get started with cooking
Two key ingredients are needed for this sambar saatham.
One is byadgi chilli and it gives a unique aroma.
You can get it from online and offline grocery stores.
this video is in tamil. Follow the recipe and happy cooking...

I tried this recipe today chef. It came out so well. I will adjust the tamarind a bit next time for my taste. It’s a perfect food proof quantities. Rice 1 cup and dal 1/2 cup water 4.5 cups is what I used. Loved it and enjoyed with appalam. 😍😍😁😁🙏🙏🙏

The trditional way of cooking BBB.
Prepare the masala powder as shown in video.
Cook toor dal separately in cooker.
Make tadka out of ghee, add veggies, cook, add imli, gur, and salt, and pour in the cooked dal. Add the masala powder.
Boil the dal veggie mix fo 3 minutes, reduce the flame to simmer, see there is enough water.
Add the washed raw rice to it, stir and bring it to a single boil, then reduce to simmer.
Keep cooking on simmer till rice is cooked soft. Dont forget to stir every 5 minutes. You can add hot water if water gets reduced.
Sprinkle with fried cashew before serving.

No, this is not a perfect Bisibele bath in Bangalore. We won't use drumsticks and potatoes. Instead of that we were using Beans, Carrot, cauliflower, capsicum and Navilcos, and equal quantity of rice and dal.

    • @vidyals747
      @vidyals747 Před 3 lety

@@helenelizabeth8962 of course you are right, iam not talking about vegetables, I am talking only about masala, by the by I don't use even capsicum also I use beans, carrot, greenpeas and navilcose instead of tamarind I use lots of tomato puree and lemon for tangyness

We dont have to be so rigid reg veggies
