This is the most amazing I have ever watched, I was in Ireland and the GAA finals was going down; it was on the all the TV’s and I managed to luckily catch only a Camogie match (yea just as badass as Hurling) when I came to the conclusion the rest of the world is a bunch of wussies when it comes to sports!!
is breà liom peil gaelic agus camogíocht. Nuair atà mè nìos sine, tà mè ag iarriadh a bheidh ar foireann Baile Àtha Cliath agus imir i bpàirc na gcrócaigh! I just want that dream to come true! and litrally play in front of about 82,000 people! im just so happy that i started GAA 💖💖💖
There is beauty in slow motion, there is beauty in Irish music and there is beauty in the skilful display of a 3000 year old sport. Captivating production again Mr Dedalus! I also like the intricacy of how, in your description you quote PJ Devlin speaking of the Greeks and how your name is taken from Joyce, a great Irish man who in turn took it from the Father of Icarus, a greek, Be it intentional or otherwise ;)
Thanks very much mate! :) This was the first video I tried my hand at making and it's a shame because I couldn't figure out how to put it in to HD the first time round. The allusion to the Greeks and Dedalus/Daedalus was just a coincidence but I am happy you picked up where the name comes from haha.
I m watching BLITZ, a Statham flick, wherein he beats 3 would-be car thieves describing the game as summat "a cross between hockey and murder" and how that dwarf hockey stick he's beating them with is called a hurler ... so I hit the net to find out what hurling was/is. Now, if I've got this right, the game is all about how many times u can score and keep your head attached, right?
I THINK I LIKE IT!!! THIS IS WORTH WATCHING MEN RUN AROUND A FIELD....TRYING TO KEEP THEIR HEADS ON! THIS IS EXCITING! ! ! INTERESTING IN THE EXTREME, I'm feeling a tingle somewh...
The footage is great, and now I would love to visit a game of hurling if I will ever have a chance to, but can somebody tell which tune is playing and who are the musicians? The music perfomance is just awesome!
@@matthewedgeworth4509 Thank you so much! And I`m sorry, you`ve responded so quickly I haven`t even noticed it! So that`s why it sounds much rougher (in a good way) and got more drive to it than modern bands and bands from 70-ties and 80-ties, especially the bodhrán. How do you think, is it closer to authentic Irish tradition?
KEVhd HD Clips from all over the place, RTE, GAAGO etc. Same as any other highlights video. Not stolen at all. So I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't come on to my videos accusing.
@@matthewedgeworth4509 o, I have. I even like the musical selection. My ears and temperament can't take it. High pitches actually hurt at normal speaking levels. If I turn it down to a soft level , or bass it up or treble it down, it's OK... I did not, my bad, and an uncouth comment came out thru my fingertips. I wasn't insulting your choice or anything, twas very apropos. I'm a very wired person who needs calmness and peace, such music makes me frenetic. I had to turn it low... but it was still too fast and I hadda turn it off. I should not have said anything at all. It's my nerve problem, not yours... mea culpa...lo siento mucho....
I want this in the US! And yes I changed my profile pic to hurling.
Check out the USGAA, theres probably a club near where you live!
So this is where La Crosse, Soccer and Baseball originated! Fascinating! I'd never heard of this and now I am interested in watching more.

This looks brutal. A proper contact sport I will have to go to Ireland now just to watch a game

The song used is Marcshlua Uí Néill (O'Neill's Cavalry March)
arranged and performed by Seán Ó Riada and his band Ceoltóirí Chualann

You're a mong
I could do well without the high pitched frantically paced music...
Watch another video then

@@karenmullen3210 Fair enough, I have other videos with much slower, relaxed music. Try The Beauty of Hurling.
