My grandmother bought me an Alvarez Yairi when I graduated from college. On it is an engraved plaque that says, “You can do whatever you want to.” She used to tell me that when I’d get so discouraged that I felt like quitting. To this day whenever I play my guitar I feel connected to her and the strength she gave me through her words.
I just like watching Japanese people build things. They are totally NO BS. Their shops, their tools, their jigs, it's all zero BS, just whatever works to get it done. Very dedicated folks. I have the utmost respect for their works.
I have to agree, I came to Japan in 2006 for a 9 month training program. A joint venture between two companies. I worked in the factory and it was a humbling experience. It changed my whole outlook on life.
Not just get it done, but get it done to the top quality
@@RobChapala yes. It’s made properly, but without any pretence. If this funny scrap of word works perfectly as a jig, use it; why buy a new machine if the old one is perfect; but don’t skimp on details, time, materials, etc. I go out of my way to buy certain things from Japan, they are just better.
This is why I admire the Japanese the most out of all cultures! QUALITY 🇯🇵🇺🇸
Not only the greatest respect to the artists, that build these wonderful guitars, but also to the people, that sharpen their tools. Even the sharpening of tools to that perfection is an art by itsself!
Yairi has always produced quality instruments. I hope they continue to do so for the next 55 years.
I'm sure Mr. Yairi loved his profession. This kind of wood craft is one of the highest arts.
I have a YW600G..It is old but beautifully made.
Workmanship is outstanding and it sounds amazing.
It stacks up against many many high end models.
Thankyou
I used to work at a guitar manufacturing factory, so I remember the manufacturing process nostalgic.☺️
I'm from India and I loved your efforts so much.
Really appreciable work.
No one in this world can and will never be able to compete with Japanese quality! You are always 100 levels above everyone else...I adore you! You are an example of how to do things perfectly!
Hmm. I'm sure some Spanish and American manufacturers might disagree.
And the italians
As an industry yes,,, but to achieve the perfect guitar, that takes human sense and precision, and Spanish is the best at they do.
Hiroshima and Nagasaki. America wins
I love japanesse job philosophic, Japan factories and K. Yairy guitars. Very proud to own a guitar made in this factory.
I have my Yairi for all my adulthood, almost 40 years. Love the sound of it and it is my partner for the rest of my life as well. ❤
Thank you from Germany to make Guitars by hand ... the right way to build a peaceful friend 🌻☮️
I am constantly amazed how subtle and fine decorations along with the finish are adding such terrific dimensions to these instruments.
Everything in this video is beautiful. The video with no unnecessary music, the craftsmanship, and don’t forget the guitar too !
👍👍👍
U are correct, background music is irritating.
My absolute favorite acoustic guitar maker. I’ve had a few and they’ve always become my main guitar. I had a 1978 dy-85 stolen In Nashville that had SKP on the front in big sparkle letters. I always thought I’d run across it again one day. Good guitars always find a good home.
Astonishing amount of hand craftsmanship! Very impressive workforce, take pride and pleasure making these beautiful ❤️ instruments.👍
My favorite you guys always the best
Woodworking is a hobby of mine...the level of accuracy these craftspeople have with their handwork is really impressive
Simplesmente maravilhoso!!
A delight to watch such craftsmen at work!
The way he tunes it by ear... Incredible!
Well done for a beautiful instrument. Good tonality in sound. I'd play one in a heartbeat. Excellent job.
Wow! This is amazing factory. I love guitar 🎸 alot. God bless the workers.
everyone knows how passionate the Japanese are🙏
Very beautiful guitars!
Hi
The Japanese soul is in the guitar. Great job.
These guitars are real gems !
Ces guitares sont de vrais bijoux !
I am very impressed by their use of hot hide glue for gluing the fingerboards. This makes a big difference in sound/vibration transference from the strings to the neck. These Japanese workers are true craftsman.
They are not craftsmen, they are the best luthiers!!!
@@ryanlee5771 == Luthiers.
I've been building guitars for quite a while now and hide glue does make a difference when compared to something like Titebond. Hide glue crystallizes when dries and tends to transfers vibration much more effectively then gummy old Titebond. As for your myth comment, I've performed side by side tests using a spectrum analyzer to verify what my ear already knew. I find most of the people that bash hide glue have never tried it. @@charlesrichter3854
Amazing craftsmanship
very interesting and a lot of hands-on I thougth it was a good video
What beautiful and elegant acoustic guitars I want one for myself! 💯❤
Wow ! This is a great manufacturing plant of an acoustic guitar, Yairi , love it ! Keep up your good works, guys !
Great! I really like the calmness that these men work! Seems to be enjoying that
I have played many of the top acoustic guitars available, and I have found the AY to be one of the best line of guitars ever made. I have owned 7 of these fine instruments and have played over 50 years. This was an excellent video.
This K yairi guitars, are the best guitars in the world. 😃
thanks for your sharing ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
herzlichen Dank, tolle Arbeit... thank you so much, beautiful Work...
Hermoso trabajo 👏👏👏 felicitaciones 👏👏👏 Saludos desde Colombia 🇨🇴
I love my Yairi Thank you
Fantastic! Great work by everyone involved.
I would be proud to own a guitar crafted by such skilled artisans.
God bless ya.
Brilliant. Awesome workmanship
There's always been world craftsmanship around Nagoya, the famous Nagoya guitars, now Alvarez makers, I actually had an original Alvarez from the 60s and it played great and was loud.
As a guitar builder at a major brand it's nice to see the different ways in which these instruments are put together.
It’s like the Toyota of guitar building. Gluing all the braces at once, gluing the linings before bending the sides and bending it all together at once, I never seen that. The soundboards look super thick. I like how they carve the necks though.
Japanese craftsmanship is legendary, I would love to play and own one, I've had several Japanese guitars, and they're just as good quality as American ones (high end ones)
Desde ESPAÑA FELICITACIONES,un trabajo perfecto.
Japanese technology is very great, I like it 👌.
These craftsmen treat every step of the process as true work of art. No skimping on quality here.
I've been to Wayne Hendersons luthier shop, the famous Luthier who put Eric Clapton on a five year waiting list for a build. I watched him scallop the inside braces a certain way to get the max resonance from the box, and still be very light guitar.
Awesome stuff, missed opportunity by playing piano music in the background though. Acoustic/Classical guitar music would have been the way to go

Wow guitars are look soo good, also nice video from you againnn.
Thank you for watching:)
Nice work Nice guitars, i want one 😃
Incredible craftsmanship!
Hi
I've been watching dozens of acoustic guitar reviews vids on Utube as I'm looking to buy my first acoustic guitar and not one has mentioned this brand! So I'm gonna have a look around more and see what people say as I was going with a Yamaha over fender, but Yairi looks interesting and love this vid....real skill and attention to detail, and beautiful craftsmanship! 🙏👏
I bought my K Yairi guitar in the 1980s. I spent many many hours playing it. I still have it. It’s still beautiful. Sadly I don’t play it often any more.
Well, you know what to do now. Go visit the guitar!
My favorite guitars out there.
Amazing! What I really loved was the calm meditative quiet atmosphere as these artisan craftspeople created beautiful instruments......After watching dozens of not hundreds of acoustic guitar videos on Utube and not being able to make up my mind which brand and make I should buy, I believe I am watching this wonderful video for a reason......that my first acoustic guitar should be a Yairi; that is just the Ying-Yang of it.....somethings we just cannot explain......it's the creativity of flow & glow. Thank you all for helping me find the path. This was a beautiful experience and will give me a deeper connection to my first acoustic guitar.👏🙏
It's called discipline with manners...something the USA needs more of.
i bought a SADA YAIRI dreadnought in Amsterdam at Dirk Witte guitarshop in 1972 and still play on it. It’s a beautiful guitar with a fantastic loud but warm sound and plays fantastic. As far as I know it is made by an uncle of the YAIRI’S of today.
Impressive the heat the wood before gluing.
I have a maple jumbo. Just an incredible instrument. Not that expensive just solid and good
Great guitar. Had one for years
I remember watching a video about how Yamaha's chinese guitars are made.
Compared to that, this is a work of art.
Congrats!!!
