Reggie, Isiah, Larry. All legends from the golden era.
No disrespect but Reggie does not belong in this conversation
@@bones3142 I get what you're sayin. No finals and a little younger. He was good though. Clutch and had some personality.
Three Indiana greats
The golden era ....totally agree .Sanitised game now..
@@bones3142 Reggie was only noticed, because just like a dog that won’t stop barking. He wouldn’t stop with his mouth so his highlights weren’t always the best of what human beings can be.
Larry is one of those guys where the highlights only show a glimpse of how good he was…definitely one of the best to ever do it🔥
Fact
A Glimpse of Us
It's good to see Isaiah and Bird in the same room and kicking it
Isaiah knows that on the court Bird Trancends color. Like
Don King said about my uncle at the statue unveiling
ROCKY MARCIANO didn't care what color you were…you were gonna get your ass beat. With some lighter pigmented guys it just don't matter. They never got that memo and everyone in their wake knows it.
Louis J. Marciano
2nd greatest player I’ve ever seen. I would never bet against that man. I think it was Pat Riley said “ if I needed someone to take a shot to win the game, I’d pick Michael Jordan, if I needed to pick a guy to shoot the ball to save my life, it would be Larry Bird”
Perfectly said
He’s like a more agressive Jokic and a better scorer while also talking mad shit and breaking down opponents mentally.
Larry was COLD🥶🥶🥶
blah blah blah
Larry Bird is better than MJ.
@@steviechampagneLarry was the only guy that could tell the guy guarding him exactly where he was going tonight go and what he was going to do, and still couldn’t be stopped.
That’s liquid nitrogen cold.
My #1
One of the sweetest J's the game has ever seen. Bird was an assassin. I was a Sixers fan growing up. Hated him but always respected him for his greatness. No doubt one of The Greats. Shame his back took him out of the game. Who knows how many Chips Bird might have ended up with.
I was a Laker fan as a kid…now I’m a Bird fan ✌️
You are 💯brown
GOAT 🐐
Don’t forget about Andrew “ the Boston strangler” Toney
All 3 were assassins
To say that Larry was a Legend is the greatest understatement ever made & actually bordering on insulting…So to clarify,,,he's beyond legendary & one of the best to ever do it...
Relax 🙄
One of his nicknames is literally Larry Legend. Chill.
Would've been goat larry, if he took better care of his back
@@dustfidChil??? 😂What a revelation! I never heard that before! I was giving him the greatest of compliments which obviously flew over your head. SMH
@@theartistphiljc7682 He doesn't even know who you are. Keep living in the internet.
Imagine if Larry paid $5,000 for a concrete contractor to build his mom's driveway. . He would have played 3-5 more years! Sick!
I always think of that due to his insane drive and tenacious nature. He played half of his basketball career with a stiff and broken back. I mean literally. He could barely feel his toes. The ultimate competitor. Makes these overpaid divas today look pathetically selfish and stupid.
He messed 😞 his back up building Mom Dukes driveway, not for that 😭😡 he definitely had more years left
But then he wouldn’t have been Larry Bird. The charm of Larry was his work ethic and humility with a paradoxical extreme confidence in abilities on the basketball court.
@@simplysimple7628no “load management” for those guys. Larry, Zeke, and Reggie were tough. Legends.
I’ve wished the same thing. I remember how much he diminished in those last few years. I was so mad…”damn Larry, couldn’t you have just paid someone to do the work?”
LARRY LEGEND!
Always felt blessed as a rural East Texas kid in the 80's that my folks bought a satellite dish. We had that dish pointed toward Satcom I, which carried New England Sports Network. Nearly every game Larry Joe Bird played, I watched, in awe. Never have found anything since on television that I enjoyed watching as much as the 80's Celts.
I totally feel the same what a great time to be in it was
That is awesome..I remember those giant Sattelites..they were giant
That's the most East Texas comment I've ever heard. I always tell people if you're black you better not be in Texas where the red dirt is when the sun goes down. So you know these folk were doing whatever they could to see the great white hope in Boston.
I was born in 68’ and I grew up just north of Boston so my brothers and I got to watch or listen to every game. Our older brother would take us to the old Boston Garden to watch them. Great time to grow up in New England.
Trying to model your game after Larry Legend is a brilliant idea
It’s actually not unless your 6’7
@@dylanmartin2890 You do not need Height to have a brain
Worked for Reggie
A good shooter with a clear shot is a good shooter with a clear shot. Practice, practice & more practice!!! I mean if you are five foot nothing you probably gonna get blocked but someone reasonably tall can still have a good game.
The two motion jumpshot! Perfected by Larry Bird and Ray Allen
There's only one legend.
There will only ever be one legend.
LARRY LEGEND.
Fact
Larry a cool dude. He is the only dude out there that could go to any court in the hood and whoop everybody's ass
That pretty much goes for 80% of all NBA players ever, regardless of race
or any other NBA player???
Word to your mother
@@jimhim58580%? More like anyone who ever played in the NBA except Anthony Bennett
Larry Legend
The 80’s… so much better than this current shitshow
I enjoyed the NBA alot more back in the 80's and 90's....loved watching Lakers vs. Celtics....and Bulls vs. Pistons....
@@timclark2925late 90s and mid 2000s were intense too. Now it’s trash
Agree
Larry Bird is the GOAT.
True dat! 👍💯
Amen
Correct
If he took better care of his back. Arguably the most skilled though
Naw, MJ is. Which is why Bird call3d him GOD😂😂😂
I'm a diehard Los Angeles Lakers fan. I live right here in L.A. But I can admit that Larry Legend was a hit man for the Celtics and is extremely well respected! One of the greatest... in ANY ERA of basketball!
You don’t get the name legend, unless you’ve done some spectacular things, Larry did that every time he played! He gave his heart and soul to his team and the game, and he is legend❤❤
Larry Legend = Goat
He's right therefor sure.
since when?
Since he retired 😮
Y'all youngins just don't know!
The Bird Man was a nemesis back in the day!!!!
Feared Deadly Sniper 🏀 👊❗️
Isaiah and Bird chilling is so sick.
Larry. Calm, controlled, successful athlete. Outstanding role model.
Larry Legend: only man ever to win an MVP, Coach of the Year and Executive of the Year. Dude could play and knew the game inside and out.
I love how much these guys smile when they discuss basketball with each other.
Def one of the players who changed the game. Salute to one of the greatest
Larry's shot is text book... Fucking beautiful....
I liked Isiah Thomas's admiration to his fellow rival in the 80's. He is a truly sportsmanship ballgame player.
He worked under Bird wuth Miller. If Artest didnt do that in palace, Indiana would win 2 rings for sure.
Nah I remember Isaiah said he was overrated cause he’s white
@@Kzag74 u cant even spell his name and u try to talk. Whos "isa" ? Btw, Yeah those were the days. They hate eachother. Bird say Laimbeer is just dirty but Isiah is instrumental leader who orders them to do those things.
Larry and those mid 80's Celtics teams were amazing, Larry was league MVP three straight seasons before injuries and age started to catch up on him and those Celtics teams. Loved watching him play
Seeing this brought back memories of my high school gym coach showing us the same procedure in how to hold the ball. Using your outside hand as the guide.
Larry Bird, John Havlicek, Jerry West and Norm Nixon are my all~time favourite shooters!
2 Celts, 2 Lakes👍🏼
LARRY BIRD AMAZING NBA PLAYER 🏀
LARRY LEGEND🎉 🇺🇸
Love Larry Bird!
80s why wouldnt they do it even today
I have been Born & Raised a LAKER ALL MY LIFE ... Bird & Jo Jo White are the Scariest boston players ive EVER WITNESSED ... EVEN TO THIS VERY DAY ! ...
Larry’s release was lowkey nice tho especially as he got older into the 90s
I really like how well Isiah and Larry get along after their careers.
That’s the way I naturally shot when I started playing at age 12, but it got “corrected”out soon after. DANG. Coulda been the first Larry B
The fact that they're not enemies but we're fierce competitors, not holding grudges yrs later is nice.
LARRY1
Larry was special, a complete player
Loved watching Larry play, only kid on my street who was a Celtics fan, my older brother anf his friends were all Laker fans. Ugh, its still digusts me to say that. There will never be another player like him. Good memories, great times. Thanks Larry.
I ALWAYS LOVED Larry's shooting style. Matter of fact, I started shooting like that and still do. And they are right, A LOT OF PLAYERS dis shoot like that in the 90's..
Bird was a goat 🐐. I remember as a young boy him and Kevin. Dangerous come back after come back games.
It's how those of us in southern Indiana were taught to shoot.
From Puerto Rico .He's a legend .The best.
Larry the Legend.....
Nice to see Isiah and Bird as friends
Dem 3 helluva 80's Shooters right there.....
I remember those balls!¡! in elementary,it's actually what taught me how to shoot,I wasn't a Larry bird, but definitely was the guy shooting threes or of the back board padt the paint, that ball whoever invented it should get a noblr.peace prize lol
Unstoppable Legendary Larry's shot, frustrated many great players of an Era gone bye. So many great players, spectators delighted every night.
I love this clip.
Love it, 2 greats right there talking shop. You can see the respect written all over both of their faces, awesome !!!
BIRD = GOAT
I changed the way I shot specifically because of Larry and a few other pros. It had an immediate positive impact on my accuracy. 👍
Larry is on my Top 5
It’s great to see Celtics and Piston greats reminiscing. Bird and Magic are close friends and the Everyone respects Each other! Jordan and his ego still has right attitude saying who can say who’s the greatest. Meanwhile the Scottie Pippen Childish tour continues…
Bird was an Eagle 🦅 no finch🐦
Yes.. Larry Bird is the best
I love being from Terre Haute, Indiana and Larry Bird will always be my favorite basketball player.
That coach knew.
He learned the fundamentals and fixed it to suit him better until he mastered it.
A great fundamental athlete Larry Bird is
The way I naturally hold the ball while shooting is like Bird. Of course, it doesn’t go in the basket at the same frequency and volume.
Larry Legend!!👍👍
Explains why he saw the court 360
Shit that’s still taught as the perfect form for many kids first experience with basketball.
Parks and Rec league coaches, their dads and uncles, maybe middle school coaches. People who aren’t exactly on the cutting edge of sports science. They still teach that sorta side up over the head or even behind the head with the flick.
The great thing about his shooting form is his hand never got in front of his eyes so he could see the basket really well. That being said it's a bit unorthodox to have his right hand so far over to the right but it worked.
Larry 🐦 was a amazing ball player 😊
That's literally why I shoot on the side as well. As a kid, shooting threes took a wind up from beneath the hip.
THAT IS WHY I PREFER USING LARRY AS MY MAIN 3's in any NBA Series
I just love how smooth the animation of his shooting form
Ishah thomas looks good he never ages.
Larry Bird is never mentioned as "The Goat" but he certainly belongs in the conversation. As a Pistons "Bad Boys" fan, I never liked the Celtic along with Larry Bird. When you see videos of Larry playing, it changes your mind about who was and is the best players ever. A true leader, that did everything right and played to win.
Larry Legend is an all time Great !
I went to basketball camp in the early 80's. They taught us to shoot like you Larry.
Isaiah is always saying somebody stealing give the sportsmanship shake until then stfu😂😂😂
Larry Bird Goat Material.
Larry legend ❤
Isiah loves talking about Bird 🐦 who also was outstanding
Love the love stories❤❤
Larry was a problem. #legend #frenchlick
“Can’t see if you do this”, meanwhile Reggie’s arms would cross over in front of his face. How the hell that guy was the sharpshooter he was with that form I’ll never know.
I'm glad I saw all these phenomenal legends play.
Larry Legend 🔥
Ya can’t see it(in front of your face !!…priceless
Yo, if Larry Legend says that's why he shoots the ball like that then I am finally vindicated!😂 I always used to ask how am I supposed to shoot the ball with "perfect form" when I can't see the damn rim! Lmfao It rook 35 years to get this thought verified by one of the greatest jump shooters that ever lived! I'm a Boston Guy to so it's even more poetic. 🤣 💯
This is like a movie. The Legend, the Shooter and the Snake
I never really played basketball. Started coaching my son's team because they needed someone.
I realized that all these 'forms' for shots are good starting points or good things to try, but every player is different and the best find their own nuanced techniques.
CHANGED THE GAME😎🤙
Larry Legend!
I would love to see Larry do a one on one with Bird interview.
Bird was a sniper with the basketball
Jesus Christ, Larry LEGEND Bird, best all around player EVER
Had a friend in high school that shot like that and he was the hardest person for me to block
I promise you, my Larry Bird jump shot impersonation was on point back then!!!
It’s one thing to be able to shoot. It’s another to be in a position to even take the shot. Bird had better footwork and body movement than he gets credit for. He wasn’t quick... he was crafty.
one of the reasons it's good to be from boston #33.
I got the Larry jump shot. That was my thought process too when I decided to change my shot to it. So I can see where I’m shooting
Ain't nothing unorthodox about Larry when that ice water jumper pop them nets!!!! #legend
I love him he literally talks and looks like my grandfarther... And he was a prankster too everyone loved him and has a funny story of my grandfather... At a haunted house as a kid he was finding guys hiding and pinching them behind knee like a dad scaring the crap out of them or holding the coffin shut of the vampire during hayride till he was banging to get out and scare people
Legend
Yeah, the 80s did see people change their form at all levels. That form was harder to block too. Once perfected...wow.
There will never be another Larry Joe Bird!
He's an alpha male! Dig?
I could watch hours of Bird in action!
He is truly incomparable! He is so modest!
Larry emphasized shooting and most importantly "team ball"! That's the beauty of Basketball! Finding the open man and getting the Assist!
Jordan and Bryant were ball hogs!
I couldn't stand watching them!
Man...
The Greats!!!
My all-time favorite Isaiah Thomas!
