Every museum needs to add a simple rule: "you break you buy." When visitors find out letting their kids disrespect a work of art could bankrupt them they'll finally teach some proper discipline
the parents just wouldn’t pay. they think their kids can do no wrong and it’s always someone else’s fault. most parents seem to have this attitude
@@bellakatherman1477 In some cultures you are not allowed to discipline your kids until they are at least 4, it's pretty retarded and causes insane amounts of dumbass issues and teaches the kids to be entitled and overall pieces of shit, however that's just how it is in some places.
@@itisinfactme4615 Really? Never heard of it. Which cultures?

You could literally put an artifact that everybody’s existence relies on in a museum and some damn Karen would let her kids break it
Exactly. The entire human race would die because some cunt who lets her child act like a wild animal.

As an artist myself, knowing that people ruin beautiful or priceless pieces of art works, makes me pissed. Imagine that you worked really hard on something, then someone comes along and "accidentally" ruins it. It would make you pissed.

sure destroying art makes me mad, but something that makes me even more mad is people destroying history
I know exactly how you feel.
That pisses me off so much, mindless riots destroying important historical monuments for stupid reasons like being angry at Trump.
You wouldn't imagine Isis destroying artifacts thousands of years old
The people chose to organize a riot in order to tear down the statue to express their anger towards something that represented slavery, discrimination, segregation, division of this country, and also a president who has these key features and is not doing the best at being an influential and powerful figure. (This includes inappropriate behavior towards women, racist behavior, bigotry, sexism, and being very egotistic). I believe that taking down these statues is the right thing to do, instead of promoting something that America has tried to move past and fix.
@@ava-ci3iw You can destroy all the remains of the bad things that happened in the past and pretend they never happend. OR you can look at it, remind yourself and learn from it. Your choice.
I liked the kid that smashed a hole thru the valuable painting with his fist and a can of soda. The museum not only didn't make him pay for anything, they invited him to watch how repairs to the painting were being made. That was first-class handling of an unfortunate situation. They welcomed him and assured him that everything was fine. Top-notch people.
In the vase case, if they are 5,000 years old, then dipping them in paint is destruction to begin with!!!
That's exactly what I was thinking
Exactly
Not necessarily. If the vases were painted at their creation (and in 5000 years, you can be sure that it completely faded away), it can be seen as restoration, in order to give them their original colors. It's not so uncommon in China for example. The quality of the restoration is another matter of course.
Okay, but did he find any rupees or no?
@@Kyragos : The 5000 years worth of fading, discolouration and general wear is part of the beauty and value of the jars. Dipping the jars in paint is just vandalism, not art.
The mother/s of those children that broke the glass angel wings should be BEYOND ashamed... I feel SO bad for that poor artist... Good on the museum to forever humiliate them with a looped video of their irresponsibility..

Painting worth 1.5 million. And not gonna put there any glass for protection...?
Thats like asking to get damaged.
True
No just a 1 foot barrier with dental floss as rope
I agree but the reason they don't put it on because the museum staff claimed that It doesn't necessary when it comes to the painting on museum , it will cost an additional bucks and also the painting will be much great to look when there is no barrier between of frameglass protection , except for monalisa painting which has the double protection and security , since it has been the most valuable painting . I have no idea why they need to make such an exception , all arts and masterpieces should be treated equally though
@@richardlucas6309 it cost a shit ton more to repair a priceless painting than it does to protect it with glass 😂 or a guard 😂
@@RoninMilli sure it takes few months to repair and restore it to museum , you won't notice the damage there and it has been repaired before , the guy who repair the painting are proffessional , probably they got paid by government or somebody else so there is no such a great loss for the artist neither the museum owner , they supposedly put on the protection glass afterward . Some people are clumsy and unruly of the awareness by not touching it and also they should put the signboard beside the painting which I'm not sure they did it but at least to prevent these things happen again if they still insist think put a glass is a bad idea .
Be kinda funny if that guy breaking the vases was dressed up as Link from the Zelda games 😂
Lmao
I bet that old couple liked to complain about the new generations and how little respect they have lol
They probably have that elderly entitlement thing where they think they can do what they want because they've been around so long, that they're excempt from the rules.
Better than entitlement that comes from thinking you are the next big thing without having lived enough to actually accomplishing anything. I don’t know if it’s a mater of culture, but on Latinoamérica we are taught to respect our elders, it’s almost always trust fund babies from first world countries the one who keep bashing their elderly and I can’t stand it. 😤
@@Mr26muel I can't stand the elderly who cannot respect anyone else.... but themselves.... But that goes to my general thought with anyone. When they hold traffic with 30 cars behind them and they choose not to pull over and be respectful, is considered disgusting in my book. It takes two bloody seconds.... And they have all the time in the world.... But they choose to go 30 mph instead of 50....
The young do not accomplish much because they are not provided the means to do so (if you don't understand that, you are oblivious to your surroundings or environment)...... And even then the older generation can get further because they had a life time of corruption..... That is why you see 50+ year old people in the news stealing over $100k for something as stupid as a fish tank..... or Jewish people stealing $1m or so from medicaid. They hurt others for themselves. Ego is the issue....
Most jobs are given away to who you know... Not from your experience or your capabilities.
I don't think that is better entitlement than young people wanting to prosper. They want to experience the world. But if you lock them away and remove their potential and limit their abilities, they get pissed off.... Can you blame someone for not wanting to be locked away? The previous generations built up everything but never maintained any of it. The boomers sucked up everything leaving nothing for the current generations to take over.....
I know I am not going to receive anything from my family. I worked hard and continue working hard with 2 jobs. Few days out of the week I am working 14 hours. I look after my mom. I help her. And I take care of the things she can't do. But it pisses me off that she doesn't use her brain at all. She will try to plan a meal. With all good intentions, but she'll want to make something like pork-chops. But I don't like them. And she could make a bunch of them. But she won't eat much of it anyway.... So there is a ton of waste. I have to yell at her because she doesn't comprehend me not liking it. And she'll only cook like two different meals. Something like mac and cheese or pork or chicken. But everything is just bland. Or under cooked because apparently she has no sense of temperature.... She doesn't know what cooking healthy means.... Even though she has watched cooking shows for over 20+ years, she just cannot comprehend making a good dish for once....
I try to take her out once a week.... And I pay for it all... I gave her my old car because her car broke. I saved her money by the hundreds by removing cable and introducing her to a thing called Netflix. Removed the house phone because we only use our cell phones anyway.
I help her so god dang much, but she just cannot accept me.... Which seems to be the same thing with all elderly people. They just don't care. In a world where they grew up being ignorant and selfish, it remains in their attitude until the day they die. Surely not everyone is like that. But too god damn many....
@@Mr26muel Other frustrations come from them financially. Most elderly people retiring do not have the means of retiring. So they rely on their kids. But the kids are trying to build their own family, trying to afford their kids needs and wants and provide a house, etc. But now they have to take care of their parents in an already financial burden.... With many young people only making like $10 an hour expecting to save every penny but having to spend it to take care of their mom or dad..... Ruining their chance of getting a home in the near by future.....
Lucky for me, I had a friend help me get a nice job after college. It is just a temp position. But I am making twice as much now than I have from the previous 5 years of me being in college. I was making about $11 an hour for a substitute custodian position. Now I am making $20+ an hour in a state position. That is just with a staffing firm. I'm gonna apply for the full-time position after the 6 months. If I get it, that means no more staffing firm taking my share. And I'll be making $30+ an hour.
No way In hell did my parents help...No way in hell did my years of college help... Just simply knowing my friend, helped me get a position.
My mom is going to lose her house... Because my abusive father decided to stop paying her alimony.... Yet, he was making over $100k salary..... She didn't work much these past 20 years. She took care of me and my sister. But she never provided any support to us... No encouragement. No love..... Yet, I provide all that stuff to her. And she doesn't understand that. Hopefully in the next couple years I can have my own place.... But of course when that happens, that just means she will have to stick with me...... Not like I have a fucking choice... I could just leave her to rot and lose her house. My sister as hell would do and will do that. But I will have to bring my mom with me everywhere until she freaking dies.... I just want a normal life. Some privacy.... etc.... Some respect... And assistance.... None of which I get.
The only god damn entitlement I get is suffering. The only god damn entitlement is your own ignorant bliss.... and assumptions. We may act pissed. But we do take care of them.... That is because there is no help.

The 5000 year old vases were already ruined when they were painted actually!
"this is a one of a kind, priceless artefact"
*Continuous you fiddle with it as he shakes like a vibrator*
This makes me so sad. This is why I don't go to nice places because I would be this idiot.
You really should. Museums are wonderful places where you see and learn much. Some museums though are not very good at protecting the art. Many modern art exhibits are almost interactive in that you can almost climb right into the piece. I am not a fan of modern art so I have zero sympathy when modern art is destroyed. To me, the "artist" who dipped the vases in paint is the vandal.
Stop calling the time/date BCE and maybe people will stop devaluing the artifacts.
And as a grown adult you can't remind yourself not to touch shit?
What is actually wrong with you?
Ave Vee I know how you fell just that one guy
Don't take kids with you and you're good. Kids an make a trip from cool and fun to down right miserable.

1:33 Why give somebody with Parkinson's something extremely valuable to hold?!
Oh f*ck, sh!t
Why would you allow for something that precious to be taken into a tv studio, and be handled by a random person anyway? Like apparently, the transportation itself ruined it, you are telling me no one was consulted to make sure the object wasn’t undergoing any risks? Like if you care a lot just send a journalist to the museum (or whatever) where it was kept and shot a video with a professional handling it
@B P are you for real?
I literally came down here to comment this and the instant I paused the video I heard *CRACK*
JulianShagworthy why would you blame him! I would feel so fucking bad if I was him.
I can’t believe somebody can reach to the depths of humanity to destroy such priceless pieces of art. It just makes me sick but keep up the videos you’re doing a good job
@Freedom Of Nomad What is the point of this comment? Why did you say that? Do you think what the terrorists did to that museum is ok.
The ancient vases weren’t already ruined at all by DIPPING THEM IN PAINT.
If you set your art exhibit up like a row of dominoes, well then, you can expect them to fall like a row of dominoes.
How about the Taliban blowing up the giant Buddha carvings in Afghanistan?
That was built by my ancestors
I mean, it's a tragic loss of history, but what is there to gain by attacking them in retaliation, other than the fleeting and misguided satisfaction of revenge? Afghanistan is ungovernable.
Actually, now that I think about it, they do have those poppy fields...
Callie Masters or when people tried to loot the Lusitania and Russia ignored war grave protection laws and cut up the Gustloff? Fuck humanity.
There's a lot more than that, and over centuries, that the Muslims have done to other cultures.
Choco Manger indeed.
can we ban selfies around valuable pieces of art
cyber Wolfie most of the museums ive been to dont even allow any pictures to be taken
@@tmj2416 well at least some are preventing selfie related destruction
Damn its you

Ask the visitors for a credit card prior to entering and tell them nothing will be charged on it before they leave. Then have them sign a waiver stating that If you break anything you will be charged a down payment for the repair on the credit card and the waiver is to hold the perpetrator liable for the remaining cost of the repair.
If the piece is irreparable:
$5000 - Visa (Down payment)
$4152.78 times 360 months
This would cover the $1,500,000 painting
Parents who let their kids run around in a museum as if they're in a playground should be kicked out with their brats.
Went to a museum once with my parents. Never took them again because they touched literally everything.
I have been living in China for 5 years. That video of the kids playing with that art, that is a very normal thing see in everyday life. They don't even hold their children hands while crossing the roads, just yell at them.
Ya Ive never understood that, whenever I visit my husbands family in Mexico, kids do what they want there too. I have lupus and actually been tripped, ran into hard and grabbed by kids there. People please for the sake of others try to reel in your kids, my daughter 6 and 3 and they'd never do that cause they know mama is watching. 👀
Wish they would all get ran over!!!!!!
@Alie K thats a bit severe... but atleast it would teach the parents a lesson
Alie K wow....no...plz....no....its the parents fault not the kids...well partially the kids....but...no
@sulli Demon where can you draw the line though? its the parents fault for failing to teach the kids.. but then is it really the parents fault? shouldnt it be the grandparents fault for failing to teach the parents? but then the great grandparents too.. etc..
Oh my... It infuriates me that people would Deliberately destroy art. Especially ancient pieces!
Oh my...
A lot of these can be summed up with "museum doesn't put things behind glass, logical consequences for said decision ensue"
I agree
just don't be seen idiot? how hard is it to not touch stuff
The girl kicking the brass sculpture 😂 hahahahahaha
Those vases at 7:45- apparently they are 5000 years old, however why would the artist dip them in paint and spoil the history?
BB_ Will, they’re not rare at all. Remember that age does not equal value. These were not that expensive, and he’s turned them into priceless art. He certainly isn’t “spoil[ing] the history.”
@@Will-nn1dq The Chinese government was going to destroy these vases anyways because they were a representation of the "imperial past" of china that the communist regime doesn't like and censors heavily. Ai bought the vases out from under their noses and destroyed them in his own way, highlighting the injustices of the communist regime in China. Also there are enough of these vases that they pop up on ebay with just a simple search, although I'm sure many are fake.
@@Lilianna731 How does it feel to have your head that far up your ass?
consultingdetective1 Okay, thank you for the information, very understandable. I still believe old and historic objects should be kept even if they might have controversial ideas or motives behind them. Just like we should keep old Nazi objects and documents for research even when the Nazi ideas were particularly negative and sometimes evil.
@@zacharywilson9596 Actually, WeiWei smashed one of his own vases, and so did art collector Uli Sigg, who bought one of them. And it's not like those vases didn't have any value before.
Maybe not such a high material value as some people guess, but still - some artisan made them a thousands years ago and put effort and love in their work. Those artists had nothing to do with the communist regime. So I really don't get the message. I did my own research and tried to find out...but sorry, it still doesn't click for me.
He made them to smash them or to let others destroy them after displaying them. This way they don't become priceless art, either. So why? Can you explain the background of this to me? I'd really like to understand this.
5:20 I would have clapped if the thing fell on those children.
D Son I wish I was there so I could beat the fuck out of those kids
Bur it wasnt their fault, its the parents fault.
Pastel Bitch I don’t care
it's glass m8, GLASS
@Pastel Bitch R/wooshed boy
This shows how people lack SO much empathy and have no real value for the museum they enter and the art works displayed. If they did the would never be so absent or self distressed as to lose balance. If you realize those are art worth millions you walk in paying attention and respect
Why don't museums put glass around monuments/paintings or whatever. Why do they leave it out in the open for idiots or clumsy ppl to damage it!?
