Parsnip and Apple Soup with a Parmesan Chive Foam - A Princess Diana Favorite

- I made this delicious soup from my cookbook Eating Royally (link below) for Princess Diana about once a week. This was one of her favorites and she enjoyed it with a bowl of salad for lunch.
She would come into the kitchen at lunchtime, pull up a chair and eat at the kitchen table. I can see why this was one of her favorites. It's soothing and comforting and absolutely delicious (and easy to make too)

Dear Sir, I would first like to say how much I love and appreciate your videos.
I had the privilege of hosting a gourmet dinner for 6 guests yesterday and prepared your parsnip and apple soup. It was PHENOMINAL, my guests could not believe their tastebuds and they could not stop raving about it.
Thank you so much and I look forward to future videos.
Cheers!

Oh wow I have never heard of such a soup!
What a lovely and for sure delicious dish I can't wait to make something similar!
Darren! What a beautiful soup! I'm definitely trying this one!
Your recipes are fantastic. You can level them all up by cooking them seasonally and using the very best ingredients you can, OR you can cook them cheaply as easy, fuss-free everyday dinners. Your consideration of the versatility and practical aspects of menu building has been noted. I suspect it's such an underrated and overlooked aspect of your professional character here on CZcams but the way you create your dishes and edit your online offerings definitely set you apart. It's all 'behind the scenes' stuff going on in a working chef's brain and therefore, integrated into your personality and life experience-- of which you'd fill volumes. Thank you so much for deciding to start a channel. I can't wait to cook this soup in particular, parmesan cream and all. 😋
Mouthwatering soup,real delicious.
I can't wait to make this! Bought the ingredients today. Thank you, Darren, for the videos!
Looks Delicious! Definitely going to have to try this. Thank you.

I am yet to try the stuffed pepper though I grew up with my family making a very similar version so I can imagine it is just as good 👌🌹

I can't wait to make this! I'm also going to make some parmesan cream to go with our pureed broccoli soup tonight.
Love the look of this soup, and especially that it’s easily veganized. Thanks!
Perfect
做美食的時候還能聽到👂廚師給我講黛安娜王妃的生活瑣事😊❤⋯⋯好開心!
I LOVE ❤️ PARSNIPS! Combining it with apples 🍏 sounds amazing! Parsnips are way under utilized
Totally agree. Parsnip is under utilised and under estimated.
You are precious. Great Recipe:)
I love parsnips, and was hoping to find a new way to use them….thank you, can’t wait to try this
I never eaten parsnips but I would love to try your soup, and thank you for sharing another lovely story about your days with the royal family, especially princessvDiana, the way you speak about her feels like she was happy to chat with someone who was like a close friend to her even you know you an employee.
I hadn’t tried them until a few years back and they are a lovely and unique ingredient. They are super bright and zesty tasting. They are also great roasted with some EVOO, then topped with fresh dill, flakey salt and pepper. 💖🙏🕊
Absolutely gorgeous with roast chicken or any roasted joint
You are so special unique unbelievable person and chef and make most beautiful meals and so memorable of the royals and absolutely a gift and so talented and role model and so sweetest person on earth 🌷🧡🌷
I’m in the process of making this beautiful dish for my princess, my wife lol. Right now it’s simmering and it smells amazing! We had extra parsnips and am so excited to try
looks delicious!
Glad you mentioned celiacs shows you care ❤
I'm on a parsnip kick lately, so this is perfect!
👍 Been wondering how you've been doing. Glad all is well.
My mom used to add parsnips to side dishes, sometimes to carrots (coarsely mashed, lots of butter, salt, pepper: so good) or the same to rutabegas.
This is an interesting recipe. I love soups like this in lieu of a heavy meal sometimes on a cold afternoon or in the evening. Blessed Passover and Happy Easter-Resurrection Sunday Darren!
looks yummy
Looks specracular! Would love to taste this :)
I Love parsnips my mother put them in soups 🍲❤ Born in Budapest grew up in Canada 🇨🇦
Hi Darren, I love your recipes, so I just ordered your book!
It sounds like Queen Diana really appreciated your cooking and delicious 😋 recipes. Plus being in the company of and interacting with 'ordinary' down to earth, friendly and warm hearted people 😅😊👌 👍
She wasn't Queen Diana, she was Diana Princess of Wales
She was lucky to have you!
Parsnip is so under rated. So hard to find in stores. A must and any soup especially a basic chicken soup.
That was fun!
M
Darren, first off the soup seems divine... can't wait to try (both apples and pears). I have two (of three) children who are avid cooks and bakers.
I like parsnips and I like apples. But I never had them together. Now I need to try this.
Not gonna lie, the title made me raise a brow - thats a combination i never thought possible.
Might try it for curiosity sake for sure!
yummm
YES!
I make the best parsnip and apple soup, you need to fry the veg off for a good 10 to 15 mins to get some colour, it always makes it great
I’m not sure 🤔 about this one. I’d have to try it.
But, I enjoy watching you and hearing your Stories. You are a Sweetheart.
these cookbooks have SO MANY RECIPES in them! wow, what a steal for $25 each!
