I was working ironically on the FMS 1500mm a-10 yesterday. The Freewing 80mm a-10, which I had to walk past, has its own stand since it’s so darn big. And I wondered…. and wondered again- “Is this the biggest electric RC plane that will be mass produced?” I’m thinking yes.
I literally have Captain Alex's A10 fuselage sitting on my 8ft. Kayak (that's the med bay) because she is up next for the front nose gear modifications and it is almost I think a foot and a half shorter. It freaks my wife out and I love it.
@@themadscientistg7804 isn’t foam great?!?!?! I’m guessing this is my favorite warbird air frame. I started with the Eflite 64mm, loved it. Bought the v2, loved it, bit off more than I could chew with the Freewing 80mm a-10 and had to get an incredibly experienced flying friend to Buddy Box with me. Loved it. Since I travel for a living, I bought the a-10 umx. Love it. And then I found the perfect size for me, the FMS 70mm a-10. All the above are so darn stable in the air, and without a lot of wing load, they all land well.
Hey Capt Alex, I admire you in so many ways, my friend. 1st a beautiful aircraft, I have the twin 64 mm to build. 2nd great flying and very scale. Right from start-up to shut down just loved it. 3rd Great camera work by your crew. Only went out of focus once and that was the camera, not the operator. 4th glad to see you use as3x, it's not worth risking a beautiful plane when assistance is a dial away. Finally glad to see you out in the weather. As I sit here in Ontario just across the lake from Rochester NY. We are having a storm and temps for the next 2 days will hit minus 40 celsius. Mr Bob, Thank You soooo soooo much for your Kind thoughts I really appreciate it 😊! This plane is truly a joy to fly and when it comes to flying with Gyro ( AS3X) I agree 💯 percent with you my Friend. I learn to fly when I was a little boy using glo balsa planes with no gyro or safe technology and when we lost control we had a spectacular crash that left our planes looking like wood confetti 😂 honestly I have only learned to use The Spektrum safe technology and AS3X Gyro only 4 short years ago when I began flying electric planes and not glo/ nitro planes. I don’t ever use Safe but do love to use the AS3X bc it really helps smooth out the plane especially on windy days and as you noticed my favorite flying style is Scale flying! I love to represent and fly my airplanes like their real counterparts. like you, I say Why not use the amazing technology that is now available rather than not and risking a bad crash and loss of the aircraft. Many pilots almost look down on these technologies and help calling them crutches and I highly disagree. Yes you don’t want to fly with Safe for ever bc I believe safe is like training wheels to a bike, needs to be there only temporarily and then wean yourself off and even then it’s good to have it set up even though you no longer need it just in case something happens. Now AS3X is different and I believe you should have that in place all the time to help smooth out the aircraft. I have AS3X set up in all my aircrafts bc these planes are not cheap, they are beautiful and I don’t need to prove my piloting skills to anyone. Oh man yeah I miss this big beauty. I am glad she held up and my upgrade for it is on the drawing board guys and I cant wait for Captain Alex to drop her off at my lab🧐
We appreciate you watching and your thoughts. However, we like the touch of the music, I do understand what you mean, the engines are music to our ears however the traffic behind the field causes a lot of back ground noise so we used the music to try and muffle that out.😃

He has them somewhere in his house, I saw them😝 we just like to fly clean most times.

Do you have trailing link gear for the grass?
Yes.
So they sell a modified gear with better shock absorption, however I think these handle the grass perfectly.
Are you using a Gyro?
Yes, but not the stock one, I use AS3X with my Spektrum receiver. I have set up in the knob on my transmitter so I can adjust as I fly.
