    Good info Reilly! I have both Twister and Maxxum, and I put a frame for 90mm wheels on the Twister. It's more stable with the longer wheel base, and wheels last longer. For steeps I just go slow because it takes a lot of ankle and low leg strength to be in control. And I definitely agree the skates strengthen the ankles, and that helps when we get back in boots! To avoid feeling unstable when back on skis, skaters should try to avoid too much weight on back wheels. After I became more centered on skates the transition to skis was much easier. Learning the T stop also helps put a skater in better position in my opinion. All great stuff to practice with skates on hills!!

    Thanks for your review of skiroad, I am using rollerblades and I was looking for whats like to use skiroads. I agree with your opion rollerblades are great ,but there are some differences between ski and rollerblades. The best part of rollerblades there are great for off seson and chep

    Hi Reilly. I like the concept and I'm thinking about the skiroad that seems to me worth to try first. I do have a question about the model you suggested. It seems that they offer smth more closer to the slalom experience, that is called "Carving 5" (With a steering system that comes into action by tilting the skate to the side, Carving 5 is similar in sensations to a slalom ski. This model turns according to the curve radius for which it is built, adjustable from about 5 to 10 meters.).
    What do you think about it vs the Carbon gold 5 ?

      Those "Carving" models are scary... I would not recommend it. I have tried them and I don't like them.

    Great video, and you nailed the differences 100%
    One thing I can add about the skiroads is that if you do a turn and cross your feet you need to be careful not to hit the fastening clip at the front, I've done it once and it's dangerous. I could say skiroad for ski technique only.
    The only thing I want to try is to put all the same size wheels on skiroads.

      @ReillyMcGlashan  Před 11 měsíci

      Yes it would be interesting to try the same size wheels. Good idea

      Yesterday I changed the wheels on Skirods, but couldn't get the right softness, originally it was 85a and I fitted 83a which is softer. With softer wheels, it grips asphalt better, you can be more aggressive, it felt that I can push more speed on the turns, also you get more rebound, it feels like you get energy from the skis, it's not the same as from the skis but similar feeling and it's grater with softer wheels compared to a harder wheel. I have extra 84mm wheels so will try them too in a couple of days to see what difference they make.
      The downside, softer wheels wear so quickly.

    Reilley, also would you make a video of the differences between skis and rollerblades, what is similar and what we have to be careful with? Basically what we can take from rollers for skiing.

    • @ReillyMcGlashan
      @ReillyMcGlashan  Před 11 měsíci +1

      I think i did go over that in this video?

      I think you covered mostly of comparison between Skiroad and Rollerblade, in fact, you nailed it. And the differences between skiing and rollerblading are not so much. For example, as I started to skate on rollers I didn't have a chance to compare them at the same time so I was using just rollers for 3 months and after that time when I went on skis I was shocked, for the first two hrs I had to adapt to skis and also analyse differences and what good or bad things give rollerblading. And now I try to avoid the bad things that rollers give for skiing. It's a great tool no question about it, but you need to use it carefully too. I'm sure that for professional skiers like you, it's not a problem, but for less experienced like myself or someone who just start skating and skiing it's worth know

    How much better at skiing can you get at skiing if you mostly just cross trained on blades? I have very limited time or chance to ski each year so would love to find a method that would help me out

      I made a set a few years ago and didn't like them. I took the wheels off and have used them for spares on my other summer devices now.

    How about skeelers? A mix of skiroad and skate, with 5 wheels and a skate boot.
