Awesome trick indeed! If you think about it, it makes working with Dolby Atmos so much easier. Kind of reminds me the way some dome formats work, with the 32 v-speakers layout.

Your videos about Dolby Atmos have been so helpful as we've added this content to our program at Western Michigan University. Thanks for your time and effort!

nice workaround. However, I have made a Feature Request to have the post-fader FX explaining right this purpose, and during the develpment of the Reaper 7 I've reminded it to the Devs. Unfortunately it was not implemented yet. But knwoing Reaper, it may be introduced unexpectedly. Already the 7.xx has 128 audio channels instead of the 64 and it also exports them. So let's hope for the next future to have the post-fader FX.

Post fader inserts in Reaper have been requested for a long time. Maybe this is the application that will make this more of a priority.

@@michaelgwagner yes indeed there was also an old request however during the development I jumped-in to ask for that. I also do hope Dolby needs expedites the implementation of this feature.

@@Not-Only-Reaper-TutorialsSimilar story with Bitwig. I've requested it once a few years ago for Aiwindows Console and again earlier this week. It's in the pot for review of next features but that's a really big pot so for now it requires a two track workaround to built the post signal workflow.

thank you for sharing this trick! did the developer mention that this function will be available in a future update of the Dolby Atmos composer? The workflow enhancement is gold. But..who is willing to pay the price, i.e. contaminating pristine sound objects with a reverb? yikes. if there's a dry wet setting one could set it to 0% to avoid the reverb, but that seems rather silly, given the hefty price tag... trick or treat!

You can set the wet signal to 0 in which case no reverb is sent to the bed.

If you don't need the reverb and if you are fine with 16 channels per Beam track, you can actually do the same trick with the Dolby Atmos Beam.

      super, thanks @@fiedler-audio

You can do multi channel input with the regular composer beam and then put the new Reaper panner in front of it and then you have more robust panning options and volume control for every track inputted in one place (bus) . That's how I do it.
You also have more control of the center channel.

Thanks for the tip! Need to check out the Reaper panner.

Thanks! At the moment it is definitely Studio One. In this space things change constantly though.
