Interesting content. You touched on FB, Twitter, Instagram which is the conduit for becoming “famous”. What would have been the outcome without social media/publication attention. Early this year there was a barrage of attention much by local photographers drawing in visitors who also feed social media. That broad attention seemed to die off as challenges began grow. We all have a positive part to play.
After a quarter century, this bear is losing her ability to hunt, forage and raise her offspring while avoiding conflict with humans. 399 has an exceptional legacy. It’s evident that she is now raising cubs in a manner consistent with her limited abilities but places them at grave risk from potential future behavior. What is the most ethical course of action? 399’s instinct is to breed and raise offspring. Her only option is to obtain food for her and her cubs to survive in any way possible. It is inevitable, given her environment and age, that this remarkable bear is at the precipice of desperate times ahead.

Smokey is fair competition for Yogi as first. Only you can prevent forest fires. Booboo and 399 can fight for third as Pooh bear likely takes second. ;-D

399’s instinct is to breed and raise offspring. Her only option is to obtain food for her and her cubs to survive in any way possible. It is inevitable, given her environment and age, that this remarkable bear is at the precipice of desperate times ahead.
Let nature take its course and no human interaction. Sooner or later she will die because of age or aggression from another bear.

Save the Bears
One of 399 cub were shot for the safety of humanity. What a joke. The cub is dead so some human can feel safe around bears.
