A middle-aged Marty (Michael J. Fox) and his teenagers eat a pizza hydrated by Grandma Lorraine (Lea Thompson).
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Things have barely settled from the excitement and resolve of the original Back to the Future, when in pops that crazy inventor Dr. Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd) with news that in order to prevent a series of events that could ruin the McFly name for posterity, Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox ) and his girlfriend are whisked into the future to the year 2015, where Marty must tangle with a teen rogue named Griff, who's obviously the descendant of Biff, the first Future film's bully. Marty foils Griff and his group when he jumps on an air-foil skateboard that flies him through town at rakish speeds with the loser bullies beaten again. Marty gets a money-making brainstorm before hopping in the time-traveling DeLorean, and he purchases a sports almanac. He figures that back in 1985 he'll be able to place sure-fire bets using the published sports scores of the games that are yet to happen. Unfortunately for Marty, Dr. Brown disapproves of his betting scheme -- he feels too much messing with time is very dangerous -- and he tosses the almanac. A hidden Biff overhears the discussion about the almanac, sees it get tossed out, and grabs it. Thus begins a time-traveling swirl to make the head spin. Biff swipes the DeLorean, heads back to 1955, and with the help of the unerring almanac, bets his way to power. The now-altered "Biff world" has turned into a nightmarish scene with Biff the mogul, residing in a Vegas-styled pleasure palace and running everything. It's all our hero Marty can do to pull the pieces together this time, as he must jump between three generations of intertwined time travel. The end of Back to the Future, Part 2 introduces its sequel as the zany professor has already time-dashed away to the Wild West of the late 1800s and invites Marty into a new adventure.

As sucky as this future is for Marty at least it shows a heartwarming moment where his family has a nice dinner. Also bonus points for giving it the same atmosphere as the dinner scene in the first movie. A little dread because of the events, but also very sweet regardless. It shows that no matter what happens the McFly clan will always love each other.
At at least realistic. Not everyone gets to become a rockstar, most just end up with a nice family like this if they are lucky.

That's a few hours of footage, plus the time it takes to dress and makeup for each of them. They did a great job with Marleene McFly, I had no idea that was Fox, I thought they used Patricia Arquette.
The reason why we see Marty McFly Jr getting rid of the pepperoni off his pizza was because Michael J. Fox who plays him (who also plays his sister and his father, Marty McFly) is a vegetarian.

I like how all three movies have a family meal scene. In the first movie it´s in 1955 with Marty, his mother, and his grandparents, in the second movie it´s this one, and in the third movie it´s in 1885 with Marty and his great-great-grandparents.

Now why has no one thought of making a hydrator by 2015? We've all talked about the hoverboards and the auto-fit/auto-dry jacket and the power laces, which are all fascinating but no one mentions the invention that makes the pizza grow bigger. I always enjoyed that invention and hoped they'd make it by 2015 but here we are with none of that.
It's because no one found a way to improve on it. There have been dehydrated food storage before, but it wasn't like this. It was basically a small packet and boiling water.

Zemeckis admitted they were just having some fun with it, but there were some elements that came true.
One thing I've loved since I saw this as a kid on TV in 1990: NO CGI, NO "Special Edition" (errors and all but we love 'em), MOSTLY practical effects (except lightning, time travel and trickier future devices) and replaced actors without butthurt fans. Can any other saga say the same?

They did manage to predict a few things accurately, like the rise of voice-activated appliances. Also, notice how the kids are sporting those VR headsets and handling calls. Impressive foresight, indeed!

Out of all the things I expect next year, the hydrator is my #1 pick. By the way, you'll never guess how they got the same actor to play different characters. ILM (Industrial Light & Magic) created the VistaGlide camera that year, which glide, focus, zoom and tilt was controlled completely by computer. Repeating the program and cropping allowed for a totally realistic shot.
Yeah... me too.... They can dehydrate coffee etc.... so bring on the pizza and we can re hydrate with a super hot shot of water and a super hot bake... In 5 secs ;)

I love how Marty Jr. was choosing to eat fruit first before dinner having dessert before dinner.
Taking a look at all those neat things in Marty's house, No doorknobs, Ovens that work better then Microwaves, Not having to use a remote control to select the channels you want to view on the TV. I wonder why in our reality how come we don't have any of these fancy things. I think the doorknob should've been replaced a long time ago.
Why is no one talking about that Fruit?
