Thanks for the transparency! No doubt you'll get the score you're hoping for. Have you taken it the second time?

Hi Cameron! I really need your help. I recently took the GMAT Focus and I got a 595, which is the equivalent to a 660 on the old GMAT exam. I really struggle with the Verbal part. Could you please give me tips and ways to become better at it? Although I am Portuguese I consider myself to be a good speaker, and I have no problem understanding the language in a daily context (I have the equivalent to a C1), but the thing is that when I get to the Verbal section I always find it hard to focus on the text without getting confused. Please help me out, how many exercises do I need to do. I studied for 1 and a half months for this attempt, and I will be starting university this week, but meanwhile I want to start studying to retake the GMAT during the summer. Do you think it is possible to get a 685 (equivalent to an old 740), although I am bad at the VERBAL section right now? I'm in the 70th percentile at Verbal, 81st at Quant and 51st at Data Insights (although I believe I am good at it, but I got distracted and I didn't do sufficient exercises). Thank you for reading this!

Hi there can you maybe share your report. Like the amount of questions you got right in each section. It would just give me some idea about the scoring. And appreciate the honesty it helps a lot

I suggest you to take again the mock exams! I am sure you do not remember many questions, particularly quant in which you want to focus, and you can see those problema from a different perspective.

That’s a good idea. I think it would be best for me to review all of the practice exams I took and understand why I got the questions wrong. Thanks!

For quant I'd suggest that you approach the basics of the syllabus first. It is vastly easier to improve on Quant over the other 2 sections. Tip - dont't ignore Data Insights, even though you got a good score on it in the first attempt, it can get surprisingly tricky at times. Was able to get 98 percentile last week on my second attempt. In the first attempt, my scores were almost the same as yours, only swap scores for Verbal and Quant.

Thanks for the advice! Yes I do plan on also working through the GMAC’s DI review to feel more confident as that was an area I could still improve. Congrats to you on your most recent attempt!
