    Ben Davison what a man he is. Mid fight the commentators told him that the cut was in fact NOT accidental, but resulted from Wallin’s punch. Still, Davison made sure Tyson doesnt find out about it and when he asked”- Its accidental, yeah?” Davison answered: “-Yes”. ✊ Respect!

      "When the doctor tells the referee that the combatant cannot go on, the referee must stop the fight. If the referee decided that the cut was caused by a punch, the other boxer wins by technical knockout. "

    Watching this fight back, Otto Wallin is actually a very durable fighter. He ate a couple big liver punches and hooks and didn't give in. Fair play.

    This fight is the reason fury / Ben split ways, a fight that Tyson was close to losing due to that cut, a fight that should never have been close, a fight that fury should have dominated. But the game plan they went in with allowed for the fight to be close, a lot close than it should have been, fury’s better off with his new trainer, everyone saw how he demolished the long time wbc champ with a great game plan.

    Surprised by how worried Fury looks when he's in the corner, it's unusual to see him that rattled. Ben did a great job in keeping him calm, though.

    I have been involved in boxing as both a boxer and a coach since around 1992 and damn ... Ben knows his stuff !!! I have no idea how good his training in the gym is but his corner work (as shown on this edited video) is exceptional.

      It'd get boring. I'd sooner watch him chisel genuine prospects to pieces over the distance, toy with them, step back and admire the art, maybe Ali shuffle in the 12th.
      Theres 50 boxers who I wish I'd seen more of. Greatness is measured by so much more than records.

    Wallin has a great future and prospects in boxing. He is still young and learning the game but later a great champ.

      He showed a lot of heart and the cut made the fight look closer than it did because it could have been stopped at anytime and that would have been the win for Wallin. Disregard all that and fury easily won it probably 8-4 rds.

    Ben Davison has great temperament for a coach, he has passion, calmness, clear instructions, concern for his man and sharp observer of his fighter and the opponent a significant ingredient in Tyson's ring success I would think, but Peter Fury was very good too.

    Ben didn't tell Tyson the cut had been deemed a punch, that was the most important info. Luckily he got away with it but if not Ben's mistake was unforgivable.

      According to the video posted above, Tyson was only ever told it was accidental. I believe had Ben told him it was deemed a punch cut, Tyson would have been motivated to end that fight sharpish instead of going through the motions

      If your basing it on how Tyson was in this fight then yes probably. He was a different fighter when he fought Wilder the second time though. AJ will struggle with that version of Tyson.
